This shameless review is after three weeks of posting chapters and amassing 10 reviews.
Writing quality:
I know I have a lot of things to improve. Since English isn't my native tongue, you can't compare me to those who were born with the natural gift of the English language.
My way of narration is also something I'm trying to improve. I have this quirk I developed after being a reader of novels, light novels, and web novels for 8 years. I really hate verbosity. So, I'm really trying my best to write without unneeded details but still entertaining and engaging.
If you find that some of my descriptions are lacking, it's because I'm not putting much focus on those things as I want to focus on the plot, the important characters, the motivations, and reasons that will make my fantasy story reasonable for the readers.
Do I have to describe all the details of the specs of the computers in chapter 1 if I won't even mention them for the rest of the story?
Anyway, writers have different writing styles, and everyone has their preferences.
Stability of Updates:
I'm posting new chapters at a specific time of the day, 6 pm (GMT+8). Aside from the few days that I was sick, the first two weeks were updated with 2-3 chapters a day, and I plan to continue this schedule consistently.
My goal is to write 3000 words a day, but of course, I won't force it if I feel unsatisfied with my writing.
Story Development:
This web novel is not written on a whim. Before I posted my story on Feb. 13, I first constructed the whole framework of the story.
The world, the power system, the history, the different factions and their alignments, the important characters, their stories and motivations, and the major arcs of the plot are already outlined.
Of course, the story is developing, and the plot outline is just my roadmap that I will color and complete as I travel the story. Even I am excited about the future arcs.
So expect an epic adventure filled with bloody battles, cheesy harem, and forced comedy.
Character Design:
When I created the MC, I wanted him to be likable, at least.
With his tragic experience, I gave him a strong motivation that will push him to fulfill his grand quest.
I want the MC to be reasonable. His actions and his choices are for the purpose of furthering his goals, but I also want to emphasize the vulnerability of humans due to their sentiments and limited perspective.
So expect that this is a growing character. I will always try to explain his reasons whenever he will choose something out of his character.
Same with the other characters, important or not.
The descriptions of characters are dependent on their importance, so you might find some of my descriptions lacking.
I don't know about the other readers, but when a character is described so thoroughly, and then they won't appear for the rest of the story, it's just that I feel betrayed by those authors. I really wasted my brain cells to imagine those characters, you know.
Again, writers have different writing styles, and everyone has their preferences.
World Background:
I can say I really did my best here. I even tried to foreshadow some details of the world in the early chapters.
If I can just write everything about the world in the early chapters, I really want to do it, but I want to travel this world with everyone and unfold it as we journey this fantastic world.
What I can say is that this world is huge. Continents, archipelagos, seas, and skies can be found in this little garden. Though it will take time, I'll try my best to bring everyone to the interesting wonders and dangerous places of this world.
Thank you for reading my novel, and I hope you'll like it!
Happy reading! Good day!
