Synopsis

Essairyn had never felt truly alive on Earth. It felt like something was missing ever since she was born, but even after nearly 20 years of mundane living, she could never pinpoint what this or the emptiness in her heart was. Suddenly, she awakens in a grandiose, primordial forest and encounters both demons and spirits in a parallel world called Sol'h'meyr. She befriends, in particular, a sassy fox-spirit named Akari who just reincarnated after three millennia. Essairyn is an abnormal human with elemental powers, and Akari is being chased by those of her dark past. Together, they set out on an adventure in a world of magic, danger, mystery, and intrigue. But this not a game. That simple adventure is actually the modest beginnings in a chain of disruptions that tear even the dimensional fabric of time and space. No one, not even Essairyn, was who she thought she was. And not even the gods can change the destiny of the universes... A single promise shook eternity’s existence. — Fantasy || Adventure || Romance || Action || Mystery || Drama || Science Fiction — The My World To Live (MWTL) series, the alternative short name is Canaan, is comprised of three books symbolically named My World, To Live, and My World To Live. Two years prior, the entire story had been planned and detailed out from start to finish before actual writing. Thus, updates might be slow after a period of time due to real life matters, but the story will never be dropped. While the genre is largely Fantasy, the book is comprised of many other elements including a School Life (Magic Academy) story portion. MWTL has a lot of scattered symbolism and allusions, hence, the mystery aspect. The science fiction elements progressively become more pronounced, and the slow romance is a late bloomer. The female lead is strong and independent, and her backstory and identity unravel as drivers of the plot. Expect lots of action/fighting throughout and scattered philosophical and psychological themes arising. It's a human journey to find the essence of one's living and purpose. What kind of world do I wish to live for? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I hope to share the journey with you~! **The book cover is an original artwork by Chryiss please don’t reuse elsewhere. Below is the official account of the history of Sol'h'meyr from the very first version I wrote of this story. ( I'm only putting this extra here so that I don't have to fill the space with random gibberish. This is not a spoiler, just an bonus of sorts for new readers. c; )

Tymlune, the timeless one, forged Earth and brought forth five elemental beings: Water, Light, Earth, Warmth, and Cold, into the universe to admire Time's newest creation. In awe of Earth, and bestowed with Time's imagination, the elemental gods shaped a world of their own and named it Sol'h'meyr. They ruled separate eponymous kingdoms: As'wyde, As'lyte, As'eryt, As'fyre, and As'iyse, and fashioned the inhabitants after themselves called the elementals. They were similar in likeness to Earth's humans but were not blessed with ingenuity. Only Time, known as Tyml, could give creatures the gift of imagination.

The subkingdoms As'glyfe, nature; As'ayre, wind; As'spyke, lightning; and As'nyte, darkness; emerged shortly after Sol'h'meyr's genesis and fell respectively under the main kingdoms of As'eryt, As'iyse, As'fyre, and As'lyte. Each main kingdom and subkingdom had a line of especially powerful elementals descended from the gods themselves and were known as the royals.

Because the elemental gods personally oversaw the world, Sol'h'meyr prospered with millenniums of peace. But one day, it was discovered that Water and Light, had fallen in love and conceived a new god. The other elementals gods decreed that the two forfeit the child god because it would imbalance the world. However, Water and Light refused, and a war which would last centuries began. Several years after the start of the fighting, the new god was born. Right before its inception, water which streamed like light engulfed the world, and this element became known as rain.

Unlike the original five, this new god acted more human than divine. She was curious and needy and could feel loneliness and anger. Her name was C'rienne, also spelled Cyrienne, meaning 'born from rain.' Even though she was inherently superior to the original five, until her powers matured, she was young and vulnerable. Thus, she was stowed away by Water and Light in a small castle surrounded by potent illusional magic.

It was a losing battle, and after seeing the great destruction wrought upon their kingdoms, Water and Light resolved to split from Sol'h'meyr. By withdrawing, the war would cease, and they could protect Cyrienne from death because only she could fill the elemental void generated by their egress. So, with a great sword, they fractured the land and took the fragments with them into another dimension. And above where the forsaken sword had pierced the ground, a spacial tear traversed to Earth, creating a portal which dragged countless humans into Sol'h'meyr. The human influx soon begot new creatures known as demons and spirits, the embodiments of the dark and light recesses of their souls. This war would later become known as the Great Elemental War.

The departure of Water and Light enabled the remaining elemental gods to easily discover Cyrienne's castle. Upon breaking the castle's protective spell, rain magic surged across the surrounding lands. To stem the cascade, the gods sealed Cyrienne's power with Water and Light's abandoned sword. The sword then became known as the Sword of Cyrienne. Afterwards, they relocated Cyrienne to a remote human village in a barren land. Finally, the weary gods decided to merge themselves with Sol'h'meyr as it was the only way to restore the broken world.

Over the centuries, Cyrienne's rain power revitalized the lands around the poor village, and it flourished into an economic hub. From there she established the center of her new kingdom, As'rien. She blessed the original human villagers with elemental rain power, and the family she stayed with became the royals. She also founded As'pyze, the safe haven for humans, and the Knight Mage Academy, the premier school of magic and combat, with her closest aides, the original Knight-Mages.

One day, Cyrienne peered into the portal to Earth and spied a young man. She fell in love and crossed over to Earth to pursue him. The Sword of Cyrienne remained in Sol'h'meyr in order to sustain the lands. Today's world now persists without the presence of the elemental gods and follows the royal rule of the five main kingdoms: As'eryt, As'fyre, As'iyse, As'rien, and As'pyze. Sol'h'meyr has existed for eight thousand years.

"Really? Or is it because last night affected you so much that you couldn't stand being around me?" "Don't flatter yourself, Snow. You didn't affect me at all." He smirked, stepping closer. "Is that so?" His fingers brushed my chin, tilting my face up. My pulse quickened. "We're at work," I snapped, swatting his hand away. "This isn't professional." "You're my wife," he murmured. "You're supposed to obey me at all times." I bit back a retort, a hint of rebellion flaring within. Slowly, I stepped closer, letting my fingers graze his chest. His smirk wavered for a second when his wolf reacted and Snow bit his lips. "Careful, Boss," I purred seductively. "Don't hurt those lips. I'm sure plenty of girls would love to kiss them." Snow leaned down, his lips brushing my ear. "And you? Are you dying for a taste?" Caught off guard, I hesitated, then regained my composure as I looked him in the eyes. "Unlike other girls, I have strong resistance against—" I didn't get a chance to finish when Snow's lips crashed onto mine with a fierce kiss that left me breathless. *************** MATURE CONTENT Participating in the Viral Book Call Contest. Was it you that night?

On the eve of their wedding, Yan Changsheng brought back a girl and publicly called off the marriage. Only then did Shen Qinghe realize that Yan Changsheng was the crazy male lead from a book, and the girl was the irresistible female protagonist. As for her, she was just early cannon fodder fated to die, and her elder sister was the malevolent female supporting character whom everyone wanted to beat up. Tsk, the plot is just freaking ridiculous! After awakening, Shen Qinghe busied herself with cultivation, protecting her elder sister. Yet, unknowingly seizing the female protagonist's luck, she attracted several crazy male leads, each of them forcibly taking what they wanted from her. She thought Dongfang Wuya was relatively normal, but who knew he was crazier, actually seizing the position of Heavenly Emperor and then forcibly marrying her to become the Heavenly Empress! ** As the high and mighty belle of the cultivation world, Dongfang Wuya had countless admirers and fans. Yet he was devoted to cultivation, treating love as if it were dirt. Initially thinking Shen Qinghe was deeply in love with him, he sternly advised her, "Focus on your cultivation, do not get distracted by romantic entanglements!" Later, irked by her dedication to cultivation, he pressed her into his arms and kissed her, seductively coaxing with a playful smile, "Be my Daoist companion, and I'll aid you in cultivation, hmm?" Claimed And Marked By Her Stepbrother Mates

"Let me take a look." The handsome professor, with his broad shoulders and powerful muscles, lifted me effortlessly and placed me on the desk. His strong hands gently lowered the strap of my uniform to examine the bruise from training. "Helanie! Why do you always end up hurt?" His voice grew husky, sending a shiver down my spine as I struggled to catch my breath. I had to remind myself that he’s my professor... and my stepbrother. I shouldn’t be seduced by his touch. "If anyone bullies you again, come to my office and I will deal with them," he murmured, his beautiful eyes locking onto mine. Despite knowing he’s forbidden, I couldn’t help but wonder—should I tell him about the mate bond I felt the night he was drunk? .. When her parents rejected each other, Helanie went from being her daddy's angel to a neglected and forgotten child. But on her eighteenth birthday, things took a dark turn. What she didn’t expect was to find her mother preparing to marry a rogue king with four dangerously handsome and beastly sons. Review for My World To Live. Writing: The writing was smooth and had an interesting flow. You used a lot of creative terms and imagery, and there was no blaring misspellings of punctuation mistakes. To emphasize, your use of imagery to show your main character, Essairyn's growth as she became accustomed to magic was really interesting and well done. I felt drawn in, as if I was there alongside her, learning how everything went. She felt naturally disposed to raise up her arm to wield magic, and it was believable didn't feel forced in a narrative manner. Rating - 5/5 ------------------- Stability of Updates: I'm very much like you. I don't think it's necessary to post daily chapters, as I know how difficult of a task that can be. It's such a mountain to climb, that I don't expect anything like that. As long as you keep a relatively consistent release schedule OR keep your audience in the know during longer breaks in releases, I'll give you full points. You're writing for free, in your free time, so I don't expect the impossible. Rating - 5/5 ------------------- Story Development: Your story is intriguing, at least up until I stopped. I'll continue reading, of course, I just wanted to get this review out of my queue and take the time to truly give a well-thought-out critique. The story may have been slightly slow, but that's also possibly because your chapter 4 and chapter 5 are really actually still just chapters 1 and 2, just spaced out a bit further. You definitely have a very creative style, but I found on occasion, you may have overused the exposition without much substance. That's perfectly fine, and it's something I'm guilty of myself, I only point it out because it does make your story move a bit slower. Rating - 4/5 (I would give it a 5/5 but I do feel there is slight room for improvement. I'll be checking back in often and would be more than willing to change the rating to a 5/5 in the future.) ------------------- Character Design: Essairyn is a fun and quirky character, but maybe shes just a bit too... unrealistic at times? I'm not sure how to explain this without being confusing. In the beginning, her reactions jump from shock and panic, concern, to pleasure and even full acceptance. She giggles and smiles upon seeing the dragonfly, but perhaps the wrong adjectives were used, because it made me feel disconnected. Like it was a conveyor belt of moments flying by, without much substance. I do really like how her backstory was built, though. The flimsy weak girl being able to do impossibly amazing things like use magic, fight, fly (or more jump backwards a bit, as I saw it). You felt free with her, and that was very well done. Also, I really like her name. Very unique, with a beauty to it. Rating - 4/5 ------------------- World Background: Your world is everything you advertised, and it was portrayed in the opening chapters so perfectly that I felt immersed. From the new species to the magic, everything about it was convincing and mesmerizing. Not much else to say, well done. Rating - 5/5 An overall wonderful story that's definitely earned its place on my Library. I look forward to new releases, and I appreciate the author for letting me the opportunity to review swap with them. This review is my earnest opinion, and I truly look forward to actually diving further in. (If this review contains any spoilers, let me know, I'll repost it with the spoiler tag enabled. I don't think anything here is spoiler-worthy, but I never know.)

A fantastical travelling adventure with a unique cast of characters and world building. MC finds herself in a new world, which has different laws of gravity and other elements dissimilar to Earth. She befriends Akari who is her companion along her travels around the new world, Sol'h'meyr. The things I love about this story is the slow idyllic and symbolic beginning as the MC wakes up to the new world and goes through surprising quirks that wouldn't be possible on our world. Once MC mets Akari, a more natural pace assumes since the perspective now involves support character interactions. Some chapters left me in awe with adventurous feelings, like I was embarking out to a place with infinite possibilities. I also liked the RPG/game feeling some chapters gave me. Cache inventory is so cool. In other chapters, I was moved by the recycling of life. Akari is a perfect and quirky companion to guide Essairyn along their journeys. I think where I struggled with the story is my brain capacity. There was so much going on with new elements of imagination I've never experienced before. Since the story had introduced so many new things, I was struggling to keep up with the changes. I'm not that bright, so I had to reread a few times to sink it in. I also felt magic powers could have had a bit more consequence (cause and effect) element, so the impression of magic circles and so forth left a better impact to my mind. I sometimes felt magic was superficial that it didn't register as something important. The healing ability was a skill I remembered well, since this did have an effect to the caster. This is what I look for in magic systems, so this view is subjective. Overall, this is a brilliant, well-written story. Thanks for writing and sharing it.

As of writing this review, only twenty-one chapters have been posted. To be honest, I kind of regret picking this up. This is because... there's not enough chapters! It's too short! I can't wait! Uuuuuuuuuugh! First of all, the grammar and vocabulary used is high in quality. It is easy to read and very beautifully crafted. My imagination was very pleased throughout the whole experience. Also, bonus points because I like fantasy, huehue. The story is well-written, and the world-building is very in-depth. I could see the amount of attention and detail the author had placed in the plotting and planning of the world. I pretty much skimmed over some parts of it (like the part where the currency system was explained), but it's a necessary part of world-building, so I advise other potential readers to actually read them instead of skimming past them like I did (oops). I will, however, go back to re-read those parts in the future, though (probably). Reading this story, I was completely immersed as I moved from one chapter to the next. Imagine the sense of disorientation I felt when I reached the end of latest chapter. I literally, verbally, said, "What. That's... it?" out loud. Lucky I was alone in my room so no one was there to witness the crazy rambling of this one thirsty reader. This was why I was reluctant to start reading the story when I saw the double-digit number of chapters. -3- It really felt as if I was forcefully pulled out of the world and now I crave for more. It shows just how well-written the story is, in all of its mystical glory. That being said, I won't force the author to churn out more chapters than they could physically, emotionally, and mentally is capable of, though! As a fellow writer, I understand how draining it is to push out chapters after chapters. It takes a toll on your mind (and body, but mostly mind) and sometimes I wish the story would write/type itself out, grr. -3-/ All in all, it's a satisfying read and I don't really have any negative critique that I could think of right now, especially since the story has only barely begun. I have high hopes! Thank you for sharing this world with us readers~
