They were already at the hotel when the taxicab driver first woke her up as she also took a nap. However, Zoe is harder to bring around.
She had never seen Zoe like this before. Whenever they had a sleepover, she was always snoozing peacefully.
"Zoe!!" She screamed louder, hoping she could revive her sleeping beauty.
Zoe jumped up in response to her friend's call. She closed her eyes and opened it again, still dazed at where she is exactly.
Erin helped her out and assisted her to stand and get her baggage out of the taxi. She then paid the driver and as soon as she closed the door, she glanced back at her stupefied friend.
"Had a nightmare?" She tried to put the screws back on her head as she rubbed her back.
Zoe drew in a sharp, vigorous gasp as she massaged her temples. She couldn't say that it was a nightmare since it did not spook and frightened her like what she used to feel whenever she had one.
'Was it a head trip or a flashback from the past? Are the antidepressants that I've been been taking not working anymore? Or is it because that man is a trigger to my lost memories?'
"I don't know," Zoe muttered as she struggled to recollect her thought. She recalled the angel's ethereal face. Her eyes constricted as she worked out to remember all its details.
"He kind of looked like Red," she whispered under her breath.
Zoe shook her head. She must be imagining things. He must be an excellent necromancer for even invading her dream world!
She grabbed the handle from Erin and pulled it for her. "Let me do that." Her friend had experienced too much in one night.
"How sweet. Thank you. You're too kind," Erin stretched her arms and twisted her torso.
She put her arms around Zoe as they walked to the entrance. "So tell me more about Red," she insisted with wide eyes. She was more energized and upbeat with her quick beauty rest.
"What's to tell?" Zoe rolled her eyes. Even she doesn't know much about him.
She has no knowledge of his actual name, where he lived, and even what he does for a living.
He seemed secretive about it and she didn't want to oblige him to divulge it either. She has no plans on having a relationship with him anyway. Anytime soon, they will leave the island.
"I mean where did you two meet? Did you just meet on this isle?" Erin inquisitively asked as she greeted the staff at the front desk. The receptionist seemed to know her as she nodded with a friendly smile.
"Yeah," Zoe responded shortly, not because she was uninterested but she didn't know where to start.
'When did we meet? Was it really just recently or was it years before and I just couldn't remember?'
Erin continued on her inquiry. "Did he approach you or you approached him? Both of you were eyecatching so I don't know whose eyes first saw the other," She winked at her as they made their way to the elevator.
Maybe she would just share only as much as her friend would question her.
"Of course him, silly. Have you caught me approaching a guy first?" She flipped her hair, tilted her chin, and made an unobtainable beauty pose.
They were in this playful mood when the door of the elevator opened. A lady whom each of them knew personally on different occasions stepped out and greeted them.
