Chapter 5.

Resurrected.

Moments before the incident.

The soul of the real Mars was starting to stir, grabbing the attention of the old God.

His eye lids of light fluttered, trying to adjust his eyes to the bright light that shone upon him, the source of this light was of course, the God.

Fully opening his eyes, Mars looked around the galaxy like space and a feeling of peace and realization dawned on him.

'... I'm dead...' He thought, a self-depreciating smile plastered on his face. The God watched Mars with a bit of pity, he knew that the child in front of him had a family to take care of, but now here he was, sending the same heartbroken boy to take care of his own children...

"Child? Can you hear me?" The God questioned. Mars' head snapped to his right, but he didn't see anything, noticing this, he started frantically looking around trying to find the soft but old voice that penetrated his mind.

"I'm here child, just look ahead of you." The God said, a light-soft chuckle escaping his lips. Mars listened to the voice and looked forward, and what he saw shocked him greatly. It was a being made of what seemed to be countless galaxies, it looked as if he himself was the very universe of all universes...

Mars' mouth and eyes couldn't help but widen at the sight, the awe, the shock, the beauty... It just bombarded him, catching him off guard.

The being chuckled once more, his grandfatherly soft tone rumbling the area around them, shaking Mars out of his stupor. Scrambling to get his bearings, Mars looked at the being in front of him with fear.

"Calm down, I'm just here to explain your situation... No need to be afraid. Though it is understandable." The being stated, successful in somewhat calming down Mars.

Swallowing his non-existent saliva, Mars spoke.

"... M-My situation? What do you mean?"

The being smiled at the sight of Mars gaining his bearings much quicker than he expected. Deciding it was best to not hold anything back, the being started from the beginning...

From when he had started to create his children, to him wanting a human soul to serve as his child's protectors and teacher, to when Mars had died... And finally, to the benefits of what being chosen gave...

Mars was... Stunned to say the least. His brain was jumbled up at the thought of being reincarnated with the deepest desires of power he had, while also being able to use those powers how he sees fit...

The intake of what the being had told him had caused him to fall into deep thought... If what the being had said was true, then doesn't that mean that he's basically robbing someone else of their life even if it was a poorly made soul?

While he wasn't one to care for others so easily, he still felt a little bad for taking the soul's place. But, hey! It's a sacrifice he's willing to get over.

After a multitude of minutes digesting the new information, he was given, Mars lifted his head towards the being and spoke.

"... I understand, but why must I babysit your children? If I'm to do this then I would at least expect permission when it comes to discipline..." Mars said, his voice curious as well as serious. The being eyed Mars for a few seconds, curious as to why this was the first thing Mars thought about.

"You have free reign in that department... Though, if you get too carried away i will have to intervene. I may have to be careful with how much force to use, but I assure you that I will, and can punish you all if you misbehave too much." The being stated, his galaxy filled eyes narrowing.

Mars sighed but reluctantly nodded in agreement. His gifts weren't even close in power with the being in front of him nor did he feel like losing his powers, so he just agreed.

'...Hopefully nothing happens.' Mars mused, closing his eyes.

"... Alright, I'm ready to go." Mars said, the being nodded, his narrowed eyes relaxing as he prepared to call back the step-in soul, he sent to inhabit Mars' body.

Calling the soul back, the being looked towards the prepared Mars, and spoke.

"Well then, it seems that our meeting was quite short, but I hope you enjoy your new life... As well as adhere to my warnings... I wouldn't want to seal you. Either of you..." And with that, he launched Mars' original soul down towards the land of Tortus.

...

Present Situation.

*BOOM!

Lilith was flung back multiple meters in the air, accompanied by the ripped-up pieces of earth and trees from the area she and Mars stood. Stabilizing herself, she focused her strong gaze down towards Mars and saw that his power was increasing steadily at an alarming rate, but what caught her off guard the most was the pain filled expression he had as his body was ejecting a shit ton of mana.

'... W-what is this? What's going on?!' She shouted worriedly to herself. Zooming down towards Mars, she wanted to try and talk to him and see if he could tell her just what the hell's happening, but then she had a thought.

'This must be the integration he said he would go through... But why does it look like it's hurting him?' She questioned, stopping her flight just a few meters away from Mars.

She started channeling mana throughout her body before a wave of black shot out of her body, encasing the whole new built area.

The other primordial in the area were all caught off guard by the sudden influx of power as well as the newly created barrier that was designed to mask all of their mana signatures as well as the strength of them all. It also had the ability to with stand the mana leaking from Mars, making sure the world doesn't go into disarray...

Any more than it already is...

The Primordial all dropped what they were doing and zoomed over to Lilith, flying at the speed of sound, breaking the sound barrier,

Lilith felt her siblings coming and relaxed a bit, she was hoping they would come over here instead of just discriminately attacking the source of rampaging mana. Plus, she wanted to confirm her suspicions.

Appearing on either side of Lilith, the Primordials stared down at the integrating Mars.

"What's happening? Why's he getting stronger?!" Seth shouted, frustration and annoyance laced in his tone. The others ignored his tone, however, and Whiro answered.

"This must be his real soul... Father told me something like this was going to happen... Why he didn't tell you, I don't know." He informed, causing them all, except Lilith, to relax.

Rau laughed dishearteningly before he spoke.

"Haha, I-I didn't think it would be this disruptive though..." The others nodded in agreement, but kept silent as they watched their babysitter 'resurrect.'
