Leo's nose tilted and his eyes yanked open mechanically, looking at the ceiling with indifference in them. He gazed at the ceiling with a frosty expression before letting out a defeated sigh.
After driving away earlier today, Leo had expected the hitmen to follow him but they didn't do so. At first, Leo was confused and anxious but it didn't take long before he regained his composure. He then returned to his home, ate, and rested. Since then, Leo had been sleeping all this while until now.
Loud notification sounds rang in his head with the system screaming danger. His eyes revealed absolute calm. All he wanted was fame, power, money, and peace.
"Unfortunately, life is not so easy. There will always be bastards who try to ruin what looked to be a perfect day."
Leo jumped off his bed, revealing his muscular build. He was in his tight black underwear but he didn't seem to care as he opened the door to his room and began walking downstairs without bothering to turn on the lights.
While in court today, Leo could sense hostility directed towards him amongst the observers. He deeply suspected that they were from the strange group the hitman who tried to take his life spoke of.
After reaching level ten, Leo felt like he had been pushed to a stage that normal men could not hope to achieve. Thinking of what he would become after another ten levels made him feel excited.
"For that reason alone. I cannot die; at least not yet." Leo muttered as he descended from the last stair and looked in the direction of the door leading into his apartment.
Killing intent.
The stench of blood.
Bam!
Bam!
Leo could hear people trying to break his door down but he didn't seem scared. If it was a month ago, he would be anxious but as of this moment, Leo felt nothing.
[Berserk skill activated]
Blup.
Blup.
Bubble-popping sounds resonated from Leo's body. A dark-red aura exited his chest and began to spread all over his body. As it moved, muffled cries and pleas for help resonated everywhere, but only in Leo could hear them.
It was the cries of the countless souls rotting in the realm of the dead; some screaming for vengeance while the others plead for mercy. Unfortunately, the unsuspecting souls at the other end of the door were unaware of the spiritual phenomenons taking place at this very moment.
Bang!
The door swung open violently, revealing two men. Both were dressed in all black clothes and with black jackets. They both wore black shades and in their hands were pistols.
The duo were greeted with an empty home as quiet as a cemetery, yet, a strong sense of fear seemed to grip them as soon as they stepped into the room. They carefully glanced around while closing the door behind them, yet they couldn't see anyone in the dark room.
"He must be upstairs."
One of the hitmen said in a hushed tone while looking in the direction of the staircase.
"Get the lights." The other hitman said with a cold look on his face.
The first nodded and backtracked to the wall where the light switch should be. He stopped and reached for the switch but he never made it.
Pa.
"Come on, hurry it up!" The second hitman said with a cold look on his face only to turn around and shiver in fear.
An arm stuck out of the darkness holding onto the arm of the first hitman who was reaching for the light switch. Right before their eyes, a figure over six feet tall with a muscular build seemed to emerge from the shadow.
The man had a large frame yet he didn't seem too bulky. He gave off a terrifying aura but at the same time, his charming looks that could barely made out in the dark made him look harmless.
[Shadow Melding deactivated]
"Who needs the lights? I bet we both agree things are better this way" Leo said in a cold and fearless voice.
"You!"
Flap.
Before the first hitman could even react he was already airborne, spinning recklessly. He wasn't sure how Leo managed to pick him up and toss him aside like a rag doll. All he knew was that he couldn't struggle against him.
"What the fuck?!"
The second hitman was terrified and quickly pulled his weapon, but Leo was faster. He watched as Leo punched forward, sending forward what seemed like an invisible ripple his way. Only when it came close enough were his mortal eyes able to see the dark red energy of the underworld.
Bang!
The second man was sent flying across the room. He fell to the ground, crying out in pain. Painful groans and muffled cries followed as he struggled to rise to his feet.
"Aaaaaaaaaaah!"
Leo's eyes tinged with cruelty as he saw the first man racing towards him with a dagger in his hands while yelling.
Hmph.
Leo gave a disdainful sneer, revealing a row of razor-white teeth.
Swish.
Swish.
The hitman didn't hesitate to brandish his weapon at Leo but he could only watch as Leo dodged skillfully while retreating.
"Shoot the motherfucker!" The first hitman cried out to his accomplice who had just risen to his feet.
'No, you don't.' Leo's eyes lit up with dangerous glare in them.
'Huh?'
The two hitmen were stunned as Leo abruptly halted his retreat and charged forward.
"Ha!"
The first hitman growled furiously as he slashed down ruthlessly only to watch with shock as his dagger shattered even before it reached Leo's body.
Boom.
Leo rammed into the first assassin like a bulldozer, lifting him off the ground while charging forward.
"Roar!"
A furious bellow rocked the corridors following a powerful crashing sound could be heard. The first hitman's body was hurled through the door like a rag doll, smashing open and crashing into the wall.
Bang.
Bang.
Bang.

Leo turned to meet the gaze of the second hitman who was left tongue-tied. He kept shooting but flashes of darkish red energy could be seen between the bullets and Le
"I am not an opponent you can hope to defeat." Leo said with frosty eyes.
Leo casually walked forward with a cold look on his face, but what happened now was more terrifying.
"What the hell?" The hitman was stunned by what he saw.
Watching the other hitman fail to harm Leo with a dagger caught him by surprise, but watching his bullets fail to penetrate Leo's body was beyond all logic. The hitman's mind was chaotic for a short while but almost instantly he pushed those thoughts aside and pulled out his dagger.
With his Empathy ability, Leo could sense the feelings of others. He expected them to get terrified after revealing his supernatural abilities. While he got the expected reaction, the result was completely different.
"Seems like you want to keep on playing. That's fine; I also didn't want our game to end so soon." Leo grinned.
