Part 1, Ethan's Pov

The girl found it hard to even look me in the eyes after saying that she received a love letter from me. I wrote no such letters to anyone... Why the hell would I even write a love letter on a heart-shaped piece of paper?

That's so out of character for me...

That's something even Davis wouldn't do, no... Maybe he will.

Why was this happening? Did someone prank this girl? ... But why does it have to be me? Why am I involved in this?

Just when I was confused about everything while still looking towards the girl, I spotted someone peeking through the door which was behind the girl.

It was Luna... She gave me hand signals to say Yes...

'... Is this girl from the Merkel family?'

I didn't want to get involved in Luna's plans... At least not this way. She was using me for her revenge, I thought her plan was just to make Lena Merkel jealous... But she was too devious and prideful to take revenge by just making her jealous.

My face paled when I thought about what she might be planning...

Seeing me not react to anything Lena stepped forward...

" Um... Are you feeling well? I heard you fought against several second years... Is it true?" She asked.

" Ah... Yes, I did fight against many seniors."

" Kya !! That's so manly." She praised me and grabbed my hand. " Young master... I accept your confession and promise that I will be a good girlfriend."

She didn't know my internal thoughts... I just looked at her with a pitiful gaze and couldn't bring myself to say anything.

She caressed my arm gently and even slowly brought her face closer... WAIT A Minute!

What are you doing kid? What the hell are you doing? ...someone, Please save me from this girl !!

The adult inside me was shaken... His soul screamed to get her away from me.

" Cough! Cough!" Suddenly someone came into the room and saved me.

Lena and I turned to look at the person who had entered the room...

At the door, there were two people. The First one to enter was Luna and the other one was Master Vermonk.

" Student... Were you doing some indecent things?" Vermonk spoke with a strict tone.

" N- No... I just came to check young master's health, I will see you tomorrow."

She quickly escaped the scene when Vermonk entered the room.

" Ahem... Are you feeling alright?" He asked once he seated himself on a chair near me.

" Yes, I am alright. Headmaster Dion said that you wanted to talk to me about something."

" Yes... I would like to become your teacher, what do you say? Would you like to learn from me?"

He was straightforward, unlike what I was expecting he didn't mention my father before asking me this question.

" I heard from Headmaster that you wanted to teach me because of my father."

" No... It's not as simple as that."

I didn't understand why he said that... I was confused by many things about his behaviour.

" What's Luna doing here?"

" Oh... This student was peeking into your room and I caught her. She will receive the scolding later once I am done with you."

I thought they were already in a student-mentor relationship... But it seems they were completely unrelated at this point.

" Luna wasn't peeking... She also came to check on me."

When I said this Vermonk raised his eyebrows, his expression was clearly saying, 'Are you fooling around with girls?'

" It's not good for kids to have unhealthy relationships, what you need to do at this point is learn and grow yourself."

"I- I know... We are not in any relationship. She just came to check on me since I am here."

" Tch, Alright... I believe you." Although he said that, he clicked his tongue in sarcasm.

" Why do you want to take me as a student?" I changed the topic once again.

" I investigated the canteen area where you had a recent scuffle with second-year students. I sensed the traces of 'Chain-Lighting' spell..."

" Sensed the spell... That's a thing?" I asked confused by what he said.

Was there a way to tell which kind of magic was cast in an area?

" There are many amazing things in the world for you to still learn and I can teach you everything I know," Vermonk spoke, his voice full of pride.

" I wasn't the one who cast that spell... It was Luna. The girl standing beside you." I told him the truth.

His face contorted as if something didn't make sense...

" You don't seem to be lying... Is it true?"

Luna's face stiffened after I gave the credit to her... Her face showed nervousness and even fear.

It's getting hard to understand this girl, why is she reacting like this?

Part 2, Luna's Pov

I stood beside Master Vermonk, and Ethan suddenly decided to reveal that I was also involved in that cafeteria fight.

When the teachers asked me this question, whether or not I was involved? I answered 'No', telling them clearly that it was Ethan who did it.

I didn't want someone to come after me because of an incident that I wasn't even involved in...

Anyway... He probably didn't have any bad intentions when he mentioned me.

But, I was afraid of being dragged into this mess... There are several nobles involved in this case. I would probably face severe consequences if it was revealed that I was on Ethan's side in that fight.

" Is it true?" The Professor asked me again.

" Y-yes... I did it." I answered.

" Don't worry, you don't need to be worried about anything... Master Vermonk is a kind person." Ethan spoke sensing my tension.

"Ahem!... What is she even worried about?" Vermonk asked.

" I don't know, she looks tensed," Ethan spoke.

" N-No, I am not... I was just helping you when I cast the spell. I didn't have any bad intentions towards those seniors." I spoke in my defence.

" Oh... So she truly is the one who cast that spell."

Vermonk got the confirmation from me...

" So would you also like to become my student ...I have experience teaching talents like yourself. I believe that with enough training, you two can become strong mages."

I was given an opportunity just like that... It's not like I haven't heard about Vermonk. Someone who had raised the previous Archmage, being taught by someone like him was surely an opportunity of a lifetime.

My other mentors wouldn't be happy about it... Because they considered Vermonk an enemy.

Those guys have been raising me as a secret weapon... If I show any signs of disloyalty then they will dispose of me whenever they want.

But I wanted to learn...

" She will learn from you..." Ethan spoke up on my behalf.

" Um... But she didn't say anything."

" She didn't say 'No', it probably means she is considering it but there is a problem that's why she can't say 'Yes' as well."

" You sound like an expert on human psychology..."

" I specialise in Mind Magic... So I have more knowledge about these kinds of things."

" What really? Mind Magic... That's a rare specialisation."

They started thier conversations... They even talked about things that I wasn't aware of. I wanted to know more... I wanted to learn more.

" I want to learn... From you sir." I finally spoke, " However, Just like Ethan said, will you please keep this a secret from others?"

" Then you guys meet me tomorrow after your classes end in the dungeon training rooms."

Ethan and I agreed and Master Vermonk left after that...

" Now... Tell me what are you planning against that girl?" Ethan asked.
