With Meghan leading the way, I followed her to a secluded area of the book store. A place where everyone can't see us or where the sounds of people talking can't be heard.
"Do we really have to hide in a secluded place like this? I mean like we are just going to talk right? What's the reason for you to hide like this from people?" I asked her, respectfully.
She sighed, taking off her mask, her hat, and her sunglasses. Revealing a big bright smile to my face. "It's to talk with you silly! You see I don't exactly want to talk with you, wearing these sunglasses and covers to my face! That would not be nice."
"Oh.. but why are you wearing those things, to begin with? Is there a need for you to do that?" I inquired further about the things covering her face.
"It's nothing serious really. It's just that a few of the fans can be quite touchy with me! They keep asking for photos and such and I don't really want them to disturb us when I'm talking to you! That's all!" She explained it to me perfectly.
That was definitely the explanation I needed. I guess I can't really sympathize with her since I don't really have any experience with people always gathering for my attention since I grew quite a sheltered life.
"Anyways! How'd you been doing? You said you'll be moving to the dorms right? So which room was given to you?" She asked me totally excited about what I had to say.
"Oh, I'm on the second floor! How about you?" I turned the question to her, she then frowns and puts her hand on her cheek. "Well... I'm on the top floor. Aww, it's kind of sad that we aren't on the same floor! I kind of honestly wish that we were.." She chuckled to herself.
"Don't worry! We can still visit each other! I mean we are in the same building since we are both transfers. So it should be easy to just go to our rooms right?" I patted her in the shoulder to try and cheer her up. "By the way? What brings you in the shopping district?"
"Oh, I was just buying a few things! Just some groceries and such. That's all!" She stated to me, showing me a paper bag containing some food and such although an item did particularly caught my attention and it was a screwdriver beneath the group of foods. That's strange, why would it be there in the groceries? Although I don't think it's anything significant.
"You must be here to read some stuff right? You do seem to look like the type of person that'll be interested in reading."
"Oh not really! I'm actually buying some school supplies and stuff. Since we needed them for the upcoming classes tomorrow. Which reminds me." I looked at the time and we were already talking for quite a long time. Damn! Time does go by when you're having fun. They are probably looking for me on the first floor. They should be finished by now. So we should probably go now."
"Alright then! I'll go ahead and go now too! See you later!" She puts on her mask, her hat, and her sunglasses again as she goes out of the secluded area.
I checked my phone to see a message from a number I did not recognize saying "Come here! We're waiting for you here! Where did you even go?" That must be Diana.. although I don't remember giving her my number... She must have looked at the contact details I put on the club form back then...
I sighed and headed back to the main area, where everyone was. Nothing really interesting happened to me in particular.
FLASHBACKS END
"Who knew it would take till 8 pm to leave the shopping district..." Lawrence sighed, massaging his neck.
"You did have fun eating at the food stands there! So I guess it was something worthwhile! I pointed out the joyful experience. "After all they did have a lot of fried potatoes!"
Lawrence looked at me awkwardly, blushing a little from the embarrassing moment he had when he loses control over potatoes.
"You know we should have bought some fries in the grocery so we can cook some here!" I jokingly offered.
"Haha.. very funny.. I know you're just making fun of me.." Lawrence mumbled over my teasing.
Who knew going to the shopping district would be so much fun! There were so many things to do there. We should probably visit it again sometime soon.
"By the way... why did you disappear again? I mean like you were very far away from the cashier area of the book store." Lawrence asked me as he took off his shoes.
"Oh ya. I met with Meghan when we were all at the book store. She was there looking at some books and stuff." I told Lawrence, as I put down the paper bags we had full of school supplies on the table.
"Meghan's already here? Which floor is she at? She should be in the same dorm area as us since she's also a transfer right?" Lawrence continued to ask me as he relaxed on the couch.
"Yup. She said she was on the top floor of the building. So we can probably just pop by and meet her anytime we wish!"
DING DING! The doorbell started to ring. We all turned to the door to hear knocking from outside.
"Huh? Who could be ringing us? It's already 8 pm, right? It's like dark outside.." Lawrence stood up from the couch and slowly approached the door.
He opens it and it reveals. "Oh hi there! I asked the staff here on where you guy's rooms are so I decided to pop in and say hi!" I see Meghan's voice turning slightly strained as if she's stressed out about something.
"Make yourself at home." Lawrence opens the door fully for her, letting her inside.
"Thank you...." Meghan sighed, as she slowly walked inside. This aura from her... she seems.. rather afraid or something...
"Is there something wrong Meghan?" I consulted her to make sure if she's alright. She seems to be a bit down than usual.
She was hesitant to talk at first. Fiddling with her hands and avoiding eye contact, she then takes a deep breath and says."Actually... can I ask for a favor?"
