Miseries of the dark past//A MAFIA STORY

Dark. Everything was dark. There was not a single trace of light. The only emotions she could feel in that room was fear. An intense unfathomable fear. The scent she could smell was the disgusting metallic smell of blood. The only sound she could hear was her ragged breathings and fast heartbeats. The room screamed cult, horrid cult. The 12 year old juvenile was scared to death. Her throat was hurt from shouting. She felt like suffering from mutism. Her eyes sour and puffy due to continuous sobbing but still that didn't stop the tears flowing out of her eyes. Her body was numb due to the beatings. The only thought she had was escaping from the hell. She tried taking deep breaths to normalise her panicked state when the door bust open by her tormentor constricting her lungs from breathing.

The light from the corridor which passed her dark room illuminated a part of the room, but enough for her to access the muscular silhouette of the monster with a sinister smirk. Her face creased with a horrific look in fear. The poor girl crawled backwards until her back hit the rough wall. However that didn't stop the monster approaching the figure in front of him. The guy bent down in front of her and looked at her with a psychotic smile enjoying the fear in her eyes. He suddenly caught her hand in his death grip earning a painful yelp from the juvenile. He pulled her up by her arm while she struggled to get out of his death grip. The young maiden's struggles were in vain compared to the hulk. She started begging with her broken hoarse voice to let her go but the monster wasn't having any of it.

Soon the little girl was dragged out of the room by the merciless devil and had to seen the worst scene ever. The place where she was brought was like a jail. Not a normal one but jail which captivated girls. It was an abandoned jail. It was a 5 storey building and each floor contained victims. What shocked the girl most was there was silence. No screaming no protest for freedom. Everyone there looked at her with emotionless and yet sympathetic look. Their state was worse than animal. As the girl was busy analysing the new place the devil opened the door of one of the cells and threw her there and left locking the door. She was continuously banging the door and asking for help when a voice stopped her.

"Stop with this little girl. No ones gonna pity you. They are monsters. The more you struggle the more it will be hard for you. You are new here that's why you don't know their rules. You are too young to die. So if you want to live it's better you accept their protocols otherwise they will cut you into pieces."

"Who are they and what do they want from me? Why did they imprison everyone?"

"Trust me I have been asking myself the same question from the past 4 years but I still didn't get the answer. This is the first time they have bought such a young girl. No wonder how many are yet to come. How many lives will be destroyed for their insanity!? Anyway what's your name little girl?"

"I-I am Pearl Miller. And you?"

"You can call me Zee Clinton. And I am the eldest and leader of cell 27."

"Can I please get some water Zee I am thirsty."

"Sure."

Zee passed a glass of water to Pearl which was drank hungrily by her.Pearl felt herself relieved as the water ran down her throat. She had so many questions to ask but she couldn't because off the tiredness. She decided to let it pass for now. It was so much for her to take as she was just a mere kid of 12 years.

Time skipped...

Pearl opened her big doe eyes as someone shaked her to get up. She slowly opened her eyes adjusting with the light. At first she was confused but later when she got rid of her sleepiness she looked at her surroundings when everything hit her. Her kidnapping till Zee. Pearl looked at the place horrified and started to sob. The girls in the cell looked at her with pity as she was the youngest among them and looked like a innocent naive girl.

Zee the leader of cell number 27 sighed and felt bad for the girl but what more she could do she knew that from now on this is her life till someone comes to their rescue. Zee looked at the helpless soul and tried to console her with her soft tone.

"Hey, Pearl don't cry sweetie! I know this is new and horrible for you but you have to accept it. Look, the more you cry the more you will feel pain. So it's better to keep quiet if you don't want to get punished. Just follow the rules and they won't hurt you!"

"No ple-please I-I wan-na go home to mama and dad. I d-don't wa-nt to s-stay over he-here. Pleasee!!

"See honey if you think you can escape from here or go home you are wrong. Because once you enter the hell there is no going back. And believe me we all have tried to escape this place but our attempts were all in vain and some were killed brutally. The more you will defy there orders the more insane you will go."

"But Zee I wa-nt t-to go ho-home!!"

"Please Pearl stop being stubborn and for now eat breakfast or they will starve you to death. Don't cause trouble or this psychos will kill you and—"

HEY WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?? DON'T YOU HAVE WORK AND WHAT THAT LITTLE VIXEN WANTS ? TELL HER TO SHUT UP AND THE RULES OF THESE PLACE OR ELSE I WILL EMPTY MY BULLETS IN HER HEAD."

A loud voice boomed across the cell startling Pearl while Zee replied as "Yes master". "Look Pearl they have already given there warnings and next time they won't give any but give punishment directly, so be a good girl and freshen up. Then I will tell you bout your work. Come on! Hurry up!!"

"But—"

"No buts and do as I say."

Two weeks later:-

Two weeks had already passed since Pearl had entered this cage. She was badly traumatised with the brutality of these captivators. They weren't humans but animals. Each day was a challenge for the victims in there game of survival. There was no hope no light but only threatening pain.

Like the other days the girls followed the same routine but today there was a new twist. They have been informed of the arrival of a new captive. The girls pitied the person who would soon join them in this game of survival. It was time for everyone to retire back to there cells when they saw a women in mid 30's dragged by those monsters to cell 27. Pearl couldn't see such violence and hugged Zee tightly not wanting to face there brutality. The poor women was thrown inside. Her whole figure was covered with bruises. By that Zee could contemplate the monsters had tough time handling her. Pearl turned her face to look at the poor lady only to get recognised with the familiar person. She had a wide grin across her face and she jumped towards the women hugging her tightly. The lady was taken aback with the sudden impact and tried to look at the girl who had jumped at her and was shocked to find none other than the girl whom she adored.

"Pearl?! What the heck are you doing here baby?!"

"They kidnapped me aunt Amanda. They are so cruel but now you are here and I know that you will save me!"

Pearl was sad for her aunt to be here but at the same time she was hoping Amanda to save her from this hell. Amanda was a brave and smart lady. She wasn't someone to give up easily and now looking at her little chubs she knew she had to escape and save her.

Many days had passed and Amanda was observing everything with her sharp eyes and in a few days she had pictured the whole map of this place and the shifts and schedules of the guards. She was a professional architect so it was easy for her to know about everything. Everyday the girls had changed duties in different places of the prison. During her changed shifts she had noticed every floor and sectors of the building. There control room, storeroom, kitchen, basement, garage and a secret tunnel which she had accidentally noticed while her cleaning duty one day. She had also discovered the tracking device on Pearl's pendant which was unknown to everyone. The prison had jammed the network in all areas accept the control room but Amanda was sure that there was network outside the area.

It was a normal working day and Amanda was assigned to clean the south sector of the building where she had never worked before. There she discovered the drugs room which was the second most guarded other than the control room. She was doing her work slowly while analysing the movements of the guards. She was mentally praying to get a access there and it seemed that god was online that time to listen her prayers. The red buzzer suddenly rang indicating warning and the dumb guards ran without a second look. She took her chance and went inside the room and found many useful drugs.

She hurriedly took some sleeping pills and anesthesias with some other necessary drugs and got out of there before getting caught. She reached the main hall as everyone was called their and gasped at the view in front of her. One of the devils had caught a girl who misbehaved due to the lack of tolerance. They beat her up like demons and killed her in the most brutal way one could even think of and cut her into parts and fed the dogs. They did this in front of everyone to give warning. Amanda could see the shaking frame of Pearl. She did a mental note to get the child a psychiatrist after the rescue. The kid was badly traumatized with such violence. She felt bad for the naive innocent angel who she once knew to be a chirpy child has turned into a disturbed person. She sighed hugging the little frame to console her who seemed to be stiffened in her place.

It had been a week since that horrible incident took place and Pearl seemed to be a emotionless robot. Everyone condemned for the child as she was the youngest among all. While Amanda came up with the most perfect plan. She knew she couldn't save everyone at once so she decided to first save prisoners from her cell and then she will take help from the government to take down this place.

As usual after a long tiring shift at work everyone retreated back to there cell. As Amanda made sure all her cellmates were there she decided to share her plan with them and seek there support. At first everyone hesitated but later they agreed. They were determined and they knew that it was now or never.

Amanda chose a perfect day for there escape plan on Sunday as there were less guards patrolling that day and it was also her kitchen duty. She took all the drugs she had stolen earlier from the drug room and handed some others to Zee who was her partner in kitchen that day. She mixed the drugs secretly with the food and hoped for it to work. They only cooked for there sector guards so there were still other guards. But they were thankful as they got to cook for the guards who would be having nightshift that day.

After dinner they all returned to the cell and got ready. They waited patiently for there cellar to pass out and they were happy when it happened. After a lot of difficulty Amanda somehow managed to get the keys from the cellar's key pouch and unlocked the door. They tiptoed carefully as they knew all the guards in there floor must have passed out right now.

After taking some turns sneakily and unlocking a couple of doors with the keys they had managed to steal from the cellar. Amanda led everyone towards the secret tunnel which she had discovered earlier but they were highly alert of the guards here. Pearl was badly shaking with nervousness so were the other girls. They were moving when someone mistakenly made a noise which alerted one of the guards. The girls rushed to hide themselves but all in vain. They panicked when the footsteps were getting closer. Their heart accelerated and there breathings became hollow. Amanda panicked as she knew that she can't back off now. A sudden adrenaline passed her body and she injected the guard with the anaesthesia which she got from the drug room secretly from behind.

The girls released a breath which they were holding and moved forward and found the ammunition room which they didn't even know existed. But there were two guards there. Amanda didn't know how to knock them off when Zee passed her the gun which she got from the guard earlier. Amanda smirked and put the silencer on the guard while shooting them from behind and put a hand in there mouth to prevent them from screaming. Her hands were continuously shaking but she got a grip on herself. She pushed the door open and took some weapons and handled each of them one.

After passing the tunnel they came to the basement and walked stealthily. They were walking when they noticed a guard ahead. Amanda instantly signalled them to halt there steps and waited for the guard to turn around. Once they saw him turn they crossed the basement area and went to the garage. The garage had five guards and it was necessary for them to be eliminated. The girls shot them carefully putting the silencer on the gun and moved towards one of the big vans. They searched the key inside the guards' pocket and found it. Amanda took responsibility of the driving. They were about to start the car when they heard the red siren. They panicked and fastened their belts. The gates were closing so were the guards approaching. Amanda took a deep breath an started her car and drove off with full speed with other cars trailing behind them. She had commanded Zee to contact Pearl's dad after telling her his phone number and crossing the area. After few rings the phone was picked and Zee started explaining the situation.

The tracker on Pearl's pendant was also activated. But then something unexpected happen with the car. It was shot and had an accident. Anddd that's it.

"Woah dude!! Your story is a trill but what happened at the end." Said Sarah.

"I freaking know it's amazing as I have written this but about the ending I don't understand no matter how much I try I can't come with a perfect ending!!"Pearl sighed.

"I know buddy that you can do it but I don't understand why-on-the-entire- earth- you- named- one-of-the-main -leads-as-Pearl. Ms.PEARL??"Kerin.

"You know honey I just love my name and I need to give some credit to me also as in appreciation of my smarty brain."Pearl.

"Huh!!... Narcissist!!"Sarah scoffed.

"Nevermind... Whatever sails your boat gormless human being. Moreover I feel a strong emotion for this story it feels like a part of me."Pearl.

"First and foremost I am not gormless Ms. Weird cartoon and last but not the least I swear if you start with your *I am connected to this story *nuisance again I am for sure leaving this sleepover!!"Came a stern warning from Sarah.

"Whatever you healthy piggy idiot!!" Pearl.

"Yah youu-"

"UFFF SHUT THE HECK UP GUYS WITH THIS STUPID BICKERING OF YOURS AND FORGET ALL THIS STORY OR UNWANTED MEMORY. OR ELSE I AM LEAVING THIS HOUSE."Kerin.

"Ok go, who's stopping you scholar chimp?"Sarah said with a bored tone and highfighed Pearl and rolled in bed laughing getting the shocked expression from Kerin. Who was fuming in fury and looked like a predator ready to pouce. By then their pillow fight already started making them laugh like maniacs.

The night passed as the friends teased each other and busy sharing there own fantastical story among them. But yet a disturbing night for Pearl Miller who was thinking about the ending of her story.But will she ever complete the ending of her story?
