Messmer has found himself once again abandoned by Grace and in unfamiliar lands, his memory’s have fled leaving him to now fend for himself in this wretched modern world. How will the fire serpent, the impaler, the Demi-God deal with this? Read and find out…
The air was warm, he didn't know where the hell he was, all he knew was the weak golden spherical grace floating in front of him.
His hand reached out towards the golden light and pulled back in slight shock as he felt its burning warmth. As if the shock awoke him he slowly blinked and looked around at his surroundings, he felt his heart stutter as he didn't recognise anything.
He felt himself shiver and looked down at his damp pale bare feet, the dirty concrete below was freezing as his eyes slid around the alley he found himself in.
The air smelt terrible and foul, he could hear the roaring of mechanical machines to his left and heard the dampened sound of dozens of feet smacking against wet concrete not too far away.
An enormous green bin was casually left half open as a raggedy figure shamelessly dug through it while standing on the tip of his toes.
They were surrounded by towering grey soulless buildings, nothing like his home.
The pale red haired teenager winced as he looked back at the shining grace.
His home?
He tried to picture his home, a large city shining in ethereal golden light. A golden tree that towered over castles and any man made structure with ease.
He felt his fist clench as the image dissipated into thin air and shook his head. His home can wait, his mind suddenly thought back to a dark castle surrounded by fire soldiers and he felt a shiver run down his spine.
He took a deep stabilising breath as he tried to reassess the situation, the clearly peasant man was dressed in what could barely be called rags as they unflatteringly wrapped around his skinny form.
Messmer looked down at himself and winced, the clothes he was wearing were not much better. Dark red cloth that barely hid his modesty from the greater world and an even darker blood red cloth that half covered his skinny torso.
Messmer-
'Messmer' he thought to himself in surprise and then sudden confusion, why was he surprised at his own name?
His yellow slitted eyes narrowed down at his hands as he tried to think, only to get nothing.
He tried to think of home, of his siblings, his mother…
Nothing.
He knew they existed, he knew his mother had golden hair that reflected the Erdtrees grace. He knew he had lived in a city of gold and splendour, but he also cannot picture it, he cannot even remember ever being there.
His mind tried to grip at any semblance of a memory as his shaky eyes locked onto the sight of grace ahead of him.
He still had grace.
The Elden ring still guided him, no matter how faint.
He noticed the flickering grace pointed away from him, out of the mouth of the alley.
So he does as any servant of grace would do and follows its guidance.
He found himself leaving the alley into a bright concrete jungle, he looked around in shock. The buildings were built to such a large scale but frankly…they were not appealing to the eye.
Nothing compared to his own castle at least.
Not that he remembered what it actually looked like.
He continued his way through the large city, again experiencing levels of awe, shock and general disgust for the buildings & people surrounding him.
This city is undoubtedly the largest he had ever seen, he looked around and finally looked up only to feel his heart drop.
He turned around while keeping his eyes on the sky above, he ignored the people brushing past him angrily and kept his eyes shakily focused above him.
He ignored the concrete monstrosity above him and focused on the large absence in the sky.
The Erdtree.
It was gone, it was neither above him nor in the far horizon.
In the lands in between the Erdtree can be seen from anywhere that you can see the sky.
Which meant he was somewhere new, somewhere grace could barely reach as evidenced by the flickering weak sight of grace.
He was alone in unfamiliar lands.
Again.
Opinions on this beginning? Not very exciting yet but wanted to build onto who this character is etc etc. He's gonna basically be Messmer from Elden Ring, but human sized and younger essentially.
