"San? Someone is here for you," Jeesung said, pointing to the door. San turned around and immediately saw someone who made an amazing impression on him. He got up and went to the door, smiling.
"What are you doing here?" San asked. His mood improved a lot.
"I'm here to pay you back," Woojin answered truthfully. Well, it was at least partial truth. Because he really wanted to give back the borrowed money, but at the same time, he wanted to see San.
Yesterday it was a total accident. Woojin wanted to buy bread in the cafeteria, but he was short five hundred won. He did not notice San coming from behind him, when he placed the money on Woojin's hand.
"You didn't have to. It's only five hundred," San said, but to not make it awkward, he took the money and placed it in his wallet.
"Have you been playing lately? I always tried to find my way around the music room, but I haven't seen you at all." San was stunned by the blatant truth. Who would admit to waiting for someone? He shook his head.
"No, I'm busy studying in school. The exams are coming. I need to work on physics and math." Woojin nodded, but then he raised his head and smiled at San.
"I can help you in our self-study time if you need to. I'm really good at those two. On the other hand, English isn't my strong subject." Woojin scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Well, If you teach me physics and math. I can teach you English because I'm good at that." Woojin nodded hurriedly, before looking around.
"Give me your number and we can talk about the meet-up." San handed him a note with his number. It was a bother that their school prohibited it completely.
"I'll go then, bye," Woojin said, waving at him and then ran away. While San watched him with a huge grin on his face. Then he looked down at his wallet. He took the coin and placed it safely in the window compartment.
Shan almost kicked the door to his room open. He had no idea why he was so pissed, but the way he saw Hyun, something boiled inside because of it.
"How dare he?" Shan yelled out but then stopped. How dare he? What the heck was wrong with him? Of course, he went to have fun. What did Shan expect? Hyun sitting in his room forever?
"I should calm down…" Shan breathed out, but something was biting him inside. He grabbed a pair of blue jeans, and a simple white t-shirt, a brutal change from the uniform he usually wore, and sat back to google some bars.
He was really afraid for Hyun. He was a stranger in Hong Kong. He did not know the language, so what if something happened to him? What if someone kidnapped him and sold him somewhere? Or they will mistake him for his brother and molest him again.
The catastrophic scenarios played inside his head over and over like a fucking action movie he watched last time. And he hated every minute of it. He never wanted to be close to people in case something happened to them. He was building a wall to protect his feelings. So why was this person rooted so deep inside?
"Where are you going?" Yinli asked, when meeting Shan in the elevator.
"I'm going to find Hyun. I'm afraid something will happen to him. He can't speak Cantonese," Shan said, knowing Yinli wasn't a gossiper.
"Hyun?" Yinli looked really confused before a lightbulb helped him with his brain.
"Oh, the Korean guy that is like a ghost? I've heard of him but never saw him. I think he should be called a miracle." Yinli paused and then looked at Shan, frowning.
"Hold on. When I came from Japan and couldn't speak Cantonese, you bought me a language book and told me to get food myself." He looked actually upset. Shan knew Yinli was right, but his brain was still preoccupied by the catastrophic image that looked more like the end of the world now.
"Are you getting out or will you stand here like a dick?" Shan snapped at poor Yinli who walked out with his hands raised.
"Buy some chocolate for yourself. I heard it helps to release some hormones of happiness. By the look of it, you need a truck of it though." Yinli hadn't forgotten one last poke before the door closed.
Shan went through at least four bars that were around there. And five more that were further away from the building. But he couldn't find him.
Shan stopped on the corner of the street and breathed heavily. He wasn't running as much as his limit was. Not so much like he did when he felt really under the weather, yet he was short of breath. His chest was painful as hell.
"Are you okay?" Some girl was bending over him, looking really worried when she heard his wheezing. Shan nodded, thanked her for her care, but walked away. Pinning another bar as his destination.
'It will probably be a gay bar, just so you know,' the message was from an unknown number, but he knew who the owner was. Only Lucy could get his number without him having hers.
And, of course, he was such an idiot going through regular bars. Hyunyeong was scared of women. There was no way he would go somewhere where there were a lot of them.
Shan changed his search and started thinking again. He would look for somewhere where people understood him. Shan checked the English-speaking filter and noticed that a few of the bars were close. A possibility.
It was the fourth one. Shan went inside and noticed him right after coming through the door. He was sitting on the bar counter, drinking a clear liquid with ice and smiling at the foreigner who was sitting next to him. Shan walked towards them, his steps vigorous, ready to fight.
