The forceful and clear sound of her pounding heart made Jiang Yuzhu shake her head, scolding herself for being so weak that she couldn't control the fluttering feeling in her heart. She felt tired indeed.
The man seemed oblivious to Jiang Yuzhu's unusual state. He simply helped her stand straight and then turned around to fetch a cup of warm water.
"It's not hot. You can drink it slowly to feel better."
Pei Jingchuan's handsome knuckles against the clear glass cup made it look even more appealing, as if the simple cup of water had become much more valuable.
"Thank you."
Jiang Yuzhu accepted the cup and took a few sips. The warm water trickled down her throat, indeed alleviating some of her fatigue.
She couldn't figure out whether it was because of the person or the water.
Pei Jingchuan watched Jiang Yuzhu closely. Only when he saw some color returning to her pale face, did he let out a sigh of relief.
