Luna isn't just a simple girl. Others might perceive her as such but this book smart person is hiding something deep in her mind. She promised to hide it forever and lived as a normal person would but some force didn't want to waste such talent. One unlucky day, she found herself in a mysterious place untouched by the modern stuff she's familiar with. The people wear weird clothes, the houses looked old-style, and everything is so simple. It might look simple on the surface but that world had always been full of mysteries hidden deep within and waiting to be found. The place is just like her. She did her best to keep her secrets but the longer she lived there, the harder it is to hide her secrets in the dark. "There's no helping it, let's just embrace the truth," she uttered. "Keep it easy, young lady," a man in his deep, cold voice appeared behind. "Alright" "B-but get away from me" ------ Daily updates
The man in his white and golden colored robe partnered with an eye-catching crimson ornament adorned with small jewels was the one who boldly greeted Akiro while the others stayed silent.
"It is," Akiro uttered.
His words were very short and didn't follow up any flowery words his visitors were so used to hearing. Akiro walked past him with Luna at his back. The man who greeted him expected this ruthless attitude of him but his envious heart seemed to resent him more than he anticipated.
While they're busy with their war of words, Luna calmly sat on one of the seats at the familiar circular red table. She didn't bother to greet them because they seemed busy in their world as if their purpose of the visit is to burden the owner of the mansion with useless reasons.
Although, the gazes of the other three guests started to observe her curiously after getting bored with the show off between the Master mage and the one with only an honorary title. They only stopped staring after Luna noticed them and also when the Honorary Master Mage's sight went around the circular table.
"Master Mage Ziluna, this day will not wait for you to finish. Let's start with your main reason for visit," Akiro said.
He sighed deeply to show his boredom with the Master Mage's continuous sugar-coated words. The master mage's attitude towards him was greatly optimistic that it didn't make sense since he's the culprit who wanted to make Akiro's small problems into huge ones.
"Of course, of course," Master Mage Ziluna said.
"Two of the guests I brought here are from the main council hall who have all the records of citizens from the whole Magus Nation. Aside from that, we have a list of travelers from the nearby countries. Apparently, we have observed that a person in your mansion isn't from both lists. It's our duty to investigate every unidentified person that enters and leaves our country. This country has certainly made enemies from other continents. You're also a special case so don't blame us if we're only exercising caution," he continued.
Akiro listened with his explanation and nodded in understanding.
"However, you seem to forget something Master Mage Ziluna. I'm very well aware of that rule that I made preparation's to my special guest's case just like my personal assistant though not entirely similar," Akiro said.
The master mage has furrowed brows. He had surely assessed the ins and outs of this case so Akiro wouldn't be able to refute his words. His breathing hastened and hid his anxious hands under the table. He could feel that something failed to reach his ears.
'It couldn't be,' he thought.
Meanwhile, Luna didn't know how would she escape this situation. They can search every place there were in this world but they wouldn't be able to find decent information about her real background no matter how rich and powerful they were. Although she didn't know if it's good or bad on her side.
It was because she wouldn't be able to have something equivalent to an ID card in this world without them learning about her background. She thought of having a fake one but it could be detrimental especially if it could ruin someone's reputation like Akiro.
The higher-ups could surely be eyeing the Honorary Master Mage's actions in the dark.
But her worries seemed nonexistent seeing Akiro's carefree attitude. He might be irritated but it's because they disturbed him during his busy days of all time they could come.
"She's an interesting person full of potentials that I caught sight of from a faraway place. I decided to make her my official student. The preparation for it will start any time soon since I already have the archmage's approval. With that she'll have an identification tag as a student of Master mage in this country," he said.
Master Mage Ziluna's eyes widened. A master mage could only accept one official student in his lifetime. To make sure that the quality of the next Master mages would not degrade, it was mandatory that a master mage should pass all his knowledge to one official student and they could possibly be the next candidate to the master mages' position for they possessed vast knowledge against others who weren't even an official student.
Even the person in front of him who had been given only an Honorary title was required to have one since his knowledge would be valuable to the country.
Still, Honorary Master Mage Akiro was a young man who hadn't even reached half a hundred years old and to be even looking for an official student was out of this world.
'He's insane!' He thought.
"But the requirements for that is not simple Honorary Master Mage. I think you know it already," he said.
There's one thing that a future official student have to pass to be qualified as one. Master mages weren't dull-witted to pick up a person in the streets and then declare him as his official student.
"Of course how can I forget it? The archmage wouldn't approve it if I didn't consider that," he said.
From their ongoing conversations, Luna suddenly went nervous. She didn't plan to be anyone's official student since she would be tied up to more responsibilities but with her current situation, she wouldn't be able to disagree. She gripped her dress under the table and maintained her calm expression after hearing that there are high requirements and she wouldn't be shocked if there were some tests she needed to take.
"Oh, then everything's clear but we'll come back and investigate if she failed the test," Master mage Ziluna said.
His tone sounded convinced that there's a high possibility that Luna would fail the test but she ignored it.
"Then the meeting's finished. You can go back to your places," Akiro said.
Master Mage Ziluna felt his annoyance in this meeting and so was he. He didn't bother with them anymore and left his mansion with the horse carriage they brought with them.
Luna seemed to feel relief after the people finally got out of this mansion. Earlier, she could feel someone's grudge leaking directing from a single person inside the room though she couldn't tell who's exactly that person is.
Then she remembered something. She immediately called Akiro before he would be drowned in his mountain of works again.
"Akiro! What kind of requirements are you talking about earlier?" Luna asked.
"First of all, you can drop being my official student after you become a citizen here since it's a hasty decision I decided myself without taking your opinion. That requirement, you need to attend the magic academy so we need to have your magic element awakened already," Akiro said.
Luna didn't expect that she needed to attend the magic academy. She learned it from a book she read when they were still on their first mission. According to that, some spent many years at that academy because it was a hard place to graduate.
It was no wonder how the Master mage earlier wasn't that worried and he might have heard that Luna didn't have her awakened magic element yet. She wouldn't be able to attend the academy without one, nevermind graduating from that school.
"Stop your worries, we'll solve it later after my paperwork. Don't let that annoying Master Mage bother you," Akiro said.
After that, he left already and went straight to his study room while Luna decided to study more about the details of the Magic Academy in Magus Nation.
