Love At First Gaze

The first time was a coincidence. Second time could be called good timing. Third time is destiny. The first time they met, they were both cosplaying at an Anime Convention. Coincidentally, she was Usagi Tsukino, and he happened to be Tuxedo Mask from the anime, Sailor Moon. Their first gaze caught his attention. Her first smile swept his heart away. She walked towards him, and he was ready to take off the mask to talk to her. Unfortunately, it was all a misunderstanding. This was their first time crossing paths, but he facepalmed so hard when he realized he got the wrong idea that he changed his "Hi," into an anime's title, "Hitman Reborn." At that time, he watched her approach another person who acted as Tuxedo Mask behind him. The smile she had on her face wasn't towards him. It was a mistake. Two months later Second time they met was at their graduation. His brother, Lucas, flew back from overseas to attend his graduation in place of his parents. After taking countless pictures with his brother and some with friends, they left campus. Inside his black Mercedes, his brother shoved several well taken photos and showed it to him. Just when he was about to answer his regular plain response, the words swallowed back down his throat. He held his brother's phone and zoomed in to the back where he saw her again! Once again, a facepalm landed on his face as he couldn't believe that there could be such timing. He could've gotten her name! After a few days later, he got off his shift late and realized that he didn't go grocery shopping. Since his fridge was empty, he decided to have his meal at a newly opened Szechuan Spicy Bowl restaurant. "It shouldn't take that long to get a seat at this time.." Or so he thought. When he got there, the place was full and he didn't have much patience since he was alone. Right when he was about to leave, the waiter asked if he minded sharing a table. "Sure." He sat down across from the girl and ordered from the menu. When she took a few napkins to wipe her nose, he took the chance to thank her for sharing the table. And there she was with her Beyond Human level spicy bowl... Although they only exchanged a few words, he found her very interesting. A girl eating at this hour without caring about her weight and her surrounding. She was adorable. The clumsy her forgot her newly printed business cards at her seat when she left. "Lily Jiang," he smiled. He thought of bringing this to her when he is free, but who knew that they would meet again at the hospital? His lips twitched when he faced his new patient, "Hello, Miss. Jiang, I am Lin Que, your doctor for this visit. Where do you feel uncomfortable?" He looked at the medical report in hand as he couldn't believe his luck with this girl.

Here Comes The Bride!

Since the prestigious Fu family had long been known for keeping low-profile, guests murmured amongst themselves while rolling their eyes left and right to find any unfamiliar faces. However, the only face they were somewhat not familiar with was Hawk's figure. The only reason why they recognized him was because of Meng Meng's wild parties with the couple's faces glued to the invitation card.

The invitation cards - just like the wedding invitations - were as vibrantly blinding as a peacock in neon colors. Every time they received an invitation from her, it would leave the deepest impressions in their memories.

Since Meng Meng did not have any bridesmaids or maid of honor with her, she ended up choosing two random little girls and personally dressed them up to be her flower girls. At first, the girls' parents refused her request. However, Meng Meng handed each a thick stash of cash, making them sway. After talking to their little girls to make sure their daughters agreed to be flower girls, the parents accepted the cash and allowed their daughters to get dressed for the wedding.

Two little girls preceded the bride down the aisle. When they appeared, guests couldn't help but gasp out loud. Chatters and awkward smiles sat on their faces as the guests saw the little girls' faces.

Showering flower petals with their tiny hands, the little girls had a thick red-lipped frown on their faces. Their eyelids were covered with thick layers of colorful glittering eyeshadow, so much that the glitter fell on the cheeks of their faces. Thick eyelashes were glued to their delicate eyes, dragging their eyelids downwards. They could barely lift their eyelids and see where they were going.

The stretched clown lips across their faces created an Annabelle doll image as if they were puppets with a forced smile. Despite the person's effort in making the little girls look like they were smiling, the cosmetic only became a joke to the guests. Midway down the aisle, the girls started crying after seeing the adults with disgusted expressions.

Meng Meng, who was enjoying her spotlight raised her left brow when she heard the two little girls crying in front of her. It was her wedding today and everyone was focused on the wrong person! "Cry! Cry! Cry! Why are these children so annoying! Just leave and wail to your damn parents!" She grunted displeasingly as she stomped her way past the little ones.

Seeing the outcome of this event, the little girls' parents quickly hugged their daughters and excused themselves out of the chapel. The parents swore if they knew their daughters would be played like a fool, then they wouldn't have accepted Meng Meng's offer.

As the wedding proceeded, everyone fixated their gaze on Meng Meng, whose arm was hooked around her father's arm. They watched as Meng Meng's father handed her to Hawk's hand. However, the guests quickly realized from the beginning till the most crucial moments of the wedding, Hawks' parents had never appeared.

Whispers circulated the chapel. Guests began coming up with conclusions as to why the Fu family would choose someone as ill-mannered as Meng Meng to be their daughter-in-law. With the Fu family's status, they could choose someone better. Hence, they concentrated on Hawk's behavior.

Some of them took out their wedding invitations to make sure they were at the right place. Others began to think that this was a huge joke and it was a part of a reality show. Meanwhile, some guests thought the Fu family must have not approved of their relationship. So, they didn't attend this wedding.

In the first row sat two people who had to calmest expressions on their faces - Lily and Lin Que. Lily leaned her head against Lin Que's shoulder as she waited for the minister to make his speech. The dull process did not take too long, however, it made it feel as if it took centuries.

While people were whispering, Meng Meng's smile only curved up even more. 'They must be jealous of my beauty and this fancy wedding! I am finally going to be Mrs. Fu!' She cheerfully screamed in her head as a chuckle escaped her lips.

The minister cleared his throat after repeating the necessary lines that need to be said. He asked Hawk, "Do you, Hawk Fu, take Meng Meng Jiang, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love, to honor, and to cherish?"

"Yes, I do." Hawk replied as if he had rehearsed this many times beforehand that it was flawless. He smiled at Meng Meng, acting as if he was the happiest man in this world.

The minister turned his attention to Meng Meng and repeated the same question. "Do you, Meng Meng Jiang, take Hawk Fu, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love, to honor, and to cherish?"

"I do!" Meng Meng bit her lip after responding to the vows. She nodded her head continuously like a chicken pecking its head.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife!" The minister announced. However, nobody was applauding in the chapel.

The only voices guests could hear are Meng Meng's squeals as she hugged Hawk around his neck and kissed him. The two of them ignored the rest of the audience and exchanged their rings. "We are finally married!" Meng Meng shouted as if she had conquered the entire world. When she turned around, she quickly shot a glance at Lily.

She thought she would see Lily's devastated expression, but all she could decipher from Lily's grin was a taste of mockery. Meng Meng gritted her teeth, tightening the grip around the bouquet in her hands.

Meng Meng held the bouquet in her hands and walked toward Lily. Under everyone's gaze, she stretched out her arm and handed the bouquet to Lily. "Instead of hoping to catch the bouquet, I'm gifting it to you. Sorry ladies, my cousin Lily needs this more than any of y'all. Who knows when she could get married?" Meng Meng scoffed, forgetting the fact that Lily and Lin Que were engaged already.

"Pffft. Yea, no thanks. You can keep it as a souvenir for yourself. Besides, after today, I don't think you'd want to mention your husband to anyone." Lily hugged Lin Que's arm, looking away from Meng Meng.
