Love At First Gaze

The first time was a coincidence. Second time could be called good timing. Third time is destiny. The first time they met, they were both cosplaying at an Anime Convention. Coincidentally, she was Usagi Tsukino, and he happened to be Tuxedo Mask from the anime, Sailor Moon. Their first gaze caught his attention. Her first smile swept his heart away. She walked towards him, and he was ready to take off the mask to talk to her. Unfortunately, it was all a misunderstanding. This was their first time crossing paths, but he facepalmed so hard when he realized he got the wrong idea that he changed his "Hi," into an anime's title, "Hitman Reborn." At that time, he watched her approach another person who acted as Tuxedo Mask behind him. The smile she had on her face wasn't towards him. It was a mistake. Two months later Second time they met was at their graduation. His brother, Lucas, flew back from overseas to attend his graduation in place of his parents. After taking countless pictures with his brother and some with friends, they left campus. Inside his black Mercedes, his brother shoved several well taken photos and showed it to him. Just when he was about to answer his regular plain response, the words swallowed back down his throat. He held his brother's phone and zoomed in to the back where he saw her again! Once again, a facepalm landed on his face as he couldn't believe that there could be such timing. He could've gotten her name! After a few days later, he got off his shift late and realized that he didn't go grocery shopping. Since his fridge was empty, he decided to have his meal at a newly opened Szechuan Spicy Bowl restaurant. "It shouldn't take that long to get a seat at this time.." Or so he thought. When he got there, the place was full and he didn't have much patience since he was alone. Right when he was about to leave, the waiter asked if he minded sharing a table. "Sure." He sat down across from the girl and ordered from the menu. When she took a few napkins to wipe her nose, he took the chance to thank her for sharing the table. And there she was with her Beyond Human level spicy bowl... Although they only exchanged a few words, he found her very interesting. A girl eating at this hour without caring about her weight and her surrounding. She was adorable. The clumsy her forgot her newly printed business cards at her seat when she left. "Lily Jiang," he smiled. He thought of bringing this to her when he is free, but who knew that they would meet again at the hospital? His lips twitched when he faced his new patient, "Hello, Miss. Jiang, I am Lin Que, your doctor for this visit. Where do you feel uncomfortable?" He looked at the medical report in hand as he couldn't believe his luck with this girl.

Fight

"You b*tch! How dare you interrupt my plans?! I've waited a whole day for Lily Jiang to come down by herself! How dare you be in my way of earning money?!" The man gritted his teeth angrily as he threw punches at Lily.

Lily swiftly dodged his punches and aimed for his weak knee. She noticed it after he made a few moves at her. After finding his weakness, she began attacking ruthlessly at his weak spot.

"For someone who is trying to kill me, you sure are bold enough to recognize the wrong person. It's quite interesting how useless you are as a hired assassin. You failed at your job. You had one job, and you couldn't do it properly. What rice did you eat growing up? I will not let my future children eat it!" Lily tried to drag on their fight for as long as she could until authorities arrive.

As she continued provoking the killer, she got distracted by an incoming car. The man took advantage of the few seconds he had and struck her on her abdomen thrice. She stumbled a few steps before falling on her behind.

A mouthful of blood dripped out the corner of her lips.

He glared at her and looked at Ginny. "You are Lily Jiang. That girl is a fake!"

"A fake? You hopeless bastard can shut your trap up. Your fault for not recognizing your target. What? Color blind to the point you can't distinguish which color is what that you stabbed the wrong person? How dare you harm innocent civilians for dirty money?!" Lily was incredibly pissed as her vision blurred from her abdominal pain.

The punches just now struck her on her ribcage, causing her to hold her breath. It felt difficult to even breathe. She was sure her ribcage was fractured at this point.

She scanned the parking lot and spotted the vehicle that distracted her before. Another man with a beanie was sitting in the driver's seat, watching their fight from afar.

"Hah, so an accomplice to take down one target. Since I am your target, leave her alone. She's going to bleed to death at this rate. You only need to take care of one person, right? What a shame if you end up killing the wrong person and being blasted on the news." Lily tried to inhale slowly, but every breath she took hurt so much that it made her want to curse.

"My buddy is here to pick me up. At first, I thought I was done with the job and I told him to come and get me. Now, he can sit for a nice show before we head for dinner. After all, it is not nice letting our target breathe extra oxygen. Since you speak so much, I'll make it so you won't ever be able to speak again." The killer reached for his back and pulled out a pocket knife.

He chuckled, " do not underestimate this knife. Though it may look harmless, one stab through your chest will take your life. Don't worry, it won't hurt as much after you die."

Every time he took a step forward, Lily would carefully retreat two steps. However, she soon met the wall behind her. She whispered to Ginny, "Don't sleep. The guys are going to get here soon. Hang on. We'll bring you to the hospital. You'll be okay. I just have to hold out until they get here. Press your wound and it should help reduce your blood loss."

"Lily, run...Don't care about me. Just run. Don't let him hurt you..I don't think I can make it this time. It hurts so much I'm getting dizzy..so go. Save yourself..." Ginny's pale complexion scared the wits out of Lily. She saw the pool of blood on the ground, puddling by her side.

"No! You have to stay awake. You listen to me. We promised we would see each other down the aisle and be each other's bridesmaid. Didn't you want that? Keep awake. Do not sleep, Ginny. I need to focus now, but you can do it. Please, just hold on a few more minutes. Help is coming!" Lily looked at her best friend who was slowly drifting unconscious.

The man swung the knife in the air, making false actions to scare Lily. Each time she tried to block his fake attempt, a sinister smile would sit happily on his face. He looked like a real devil with his tongue licking the drips of blood off his face.

"Run..Lily..Go.." Ginny's eyes slowly dazed. Her eyes began to close, alarming Lily immediately.

"Ginny! AH!!" As she had been distracted once again, the killer took advantage and charged forward. His knife was now inches away from Lily's chest. As she held the blade and pushed it away with all her might from her chest, her strength was at its limit. After being punched on the ribcage, it was difficult for her to even catch a decent breath.

Blood trickled down her fingers as she tried keeping his blade away. However, centimeter by centimeter, the tip of his blade grew closer...and closer. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she witnessed the blade drawing near her heart.

"Hahaha, why bother struggling? You'll end up cold and lifeless by the time help comes to rescue you two. The two of you can be bloody brides." He laughed as he exerted more force.

"AHhhrghh!!!! She cried out in agony with her last attempts to shove the man away. The tip of the knife pricked her skin and slowly penetrated her flesh. As she felt the knife slicing her flesh apart, she squinted at the man. Still, her hands refused to release the blade.

"Good bye, Ms. Jiang." The killer let out an evil laughter.
