Elowen Wynfall, better known as Lo, is the youngest of four princesses born to King Odyneus of Kingdom Wyndon and is by far the most average. She lacks the magical prowess and stunning beauty of her sisters, and has the beguiling nature of a wild beast. When Elowen is set to be married off instead of competing, she sneaks onto he sisters' carriage headed for the Trials instead. Lo has one chance: she will win her freedom, or die trying.
