Chapter 16

The sailor had let out a few sighs and exclamations on the grounds of exhaustion, but none of this made way to king's ear as he stared into the ocean, his mind not filled with any thought. It was just a thoughtless drift of his mind, and till his phone rang, did he come back to himself.

"boss" T said as King answered the call.

"ah, thank God. T please tell me you have good news. This babe won scatter my head" King said, expecting a yes from T. It had been two weeks already.

"in a good way I hope" T joked.

"no, no, no! na una tell her that nonsense wey make her come my room yesterday night ba?" King asked.

"me I no dey there o, they just tell me wetin sup. And I don lose money now" T said.

"you guys were betting?" King asked in disbelief and wondered why he had such people working for him.

"we gat do something as you no dey na. So how e be?" T asked and gave a short laugh.

"there was no be-ing. Nothing happened" King replied.

"ah, sure boy. Heys, make una come dey drop una money. Boss K say e no do" T said. King scoffed on hearing T.

"I can't believe you guys are betting on my sex life. And you dey there T. I go kill persin when I show for that place" King said.

"don't be angry. We were just betting on what's left of it" T said then King groaned.

"okay, calm down, calm down. That's not why I called. I called to tell you, you can't come back now. Baba Sege is still hot on your trail" T said.

"so till when? You know say I no like to dey run"

"when everything settle, I go call you. Just wait for my next call" T said.

"okay. Thanks" King said and ended the call as Leah walked in.

"who was that?" Leah asked.

"T" King said.

"can we go back now?"

"no. He says Baba Sege is still hot in his search for what happened to his men. We would have to stay here a little longer. Sadly" King said.

"for you" Leah said.

"you are the one who is making it said for me" King said.

"sorry… but I need to go out" Leah said. King looks at her. she really didn't understand the point of low-key. It was staying away from the public, not the other way round.

"well, I'm not going to be stuck here with your grouchy behind for God knows how long, I need to go out. I need to get some things. Really urgent, important, woman things" Leah said.

King ignores her and then walks away, she follows after him, calling his name but he ignores her till he gets to his room and then shuts the door in her face.
