Chapter 18

The third book, which is about the Sea Dragon Lacrima, mainly described the story of the acquaintance of the Sea Dragon King, Tannin, and the Fifth Chosen of the Sea.

How Tannin arrived in the archipelago, how he began to fight enemy dragons, how he met the Fifth, and how they became friends.

Again, this was not too important for me, but the reading was really fascinating. A true fantasy novel.

It was also described how Tannin decided to take Fifth as an apprentice and turned him into a Sea Dragon Slayer.

Tannin already knew that by that time many Dragon Slayers had gone insane due to the power they gained, and such Mages had a high risk of turning into real dragons, so he initially did not want to teach the Fifth.

But over time, having gone through many joint battles, they became close and practically became brothers, so Tannin decided to change his mind, especially since he already knew about the prudence of the ruler of Atlantis.

Fortunately, everything worked out and the Fifth learned a powerful new magic without going crazy and turning into a Dragon. He was actually a Third Generation Dragon Slayer, meaning he was trained by a real dragon and had a Lacrima in his body.

Later, Tannin and the Chosen decided that this power would be useful to the next generations of rulers, so Tannin prepared three dozen Lacrima, for the next Chosen to become Second Generation Dragon Slayers.

It was a safer option than becoming a classic Dragon Slayer, but there was still a risk, so Tannin and Five decided that only the ruler of Atlantis could become a Dragon Slayer.

The next Chosens honored this decision, so the next Sea Dragon Slayers were the Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth. Each only after the death of his predecessor. It wasn't until the last war that the agreement was broken and the then government used 26 Lacrimas, leaving one in this temple, and created an army of Dragon Slayers.

Surprisingly, all these people survived the ritual and received the power of the dragon, although there was always a risk in this business. Usually at least 40 percent of them should have died, but everyone survived. Although in that war, this did not help them in the end.

Truthly, this is very ironic, because if Tannin had stuck to his original decision and hadn't changed his mind about making the Fifth a Dragon Slayer, then the Fifth himself most likely would have survived and would not have lost the trump card of his kind, in the form of the Soul of Poseidon.

In fact, by becoming a Dragon Slayer, Fifth put a fat target on his back for Acnologia. Especially since he was friends with the Dragon Sea King. Sooner or later, Acnologia would have come to Atlantis for them. It's also good that they managed to take this madman away from the archipelago, where they fought him and died.

In the last part of the book, Dragon Slayer Magic itself was described, and as I thought, there was a ritual for becoming it. And the version for the First Generation, and for the Second. This will definitely come in handy for me.

Realizing what world I was in, I immediately decided that I would become a Dragon Slayer, because despite some of the shortcomings of this magic, such as motion sickness or the risk of turning into a dragon, it is really powerful and undoubtedly gives a lot of bonuses.

Motion sickness isn't such a big deal since I can fly and teleport, and turning into a dragon doesn't threaten Second Generation Slayers. Seems.

Of course, I didn't think that it would be easy, because I would most likely be able to find the Dragon's Lacrima, with the help of search spells (the fact that they still exist in this era was proven by Laxus and Erik (Cobra)), then finding this very ritual would be far from simple.

I originally planned to find Ivan Dreyar, son of Makarov, Master of Fairy Tail, and father of Laxus. He had already made his son a Lightning Dragon Slayer once. In the last book, information was recorded not only about the Soul of Angel that is here, but about the Soul of God that was lost. In the first part, the story of the First Chosen of the Sea and his exploits, which he accomplished thanks to the Soul of Poseidon, were again described.

And then all the power of the Soul of God Poseidon was described. And this is a really impressive set of forces. The Soul of Poseidon gave its user absolute control over the surrounding water, Water Magic itself, Storm and Thunder Magic, and Earthquake Magic. Everything is like in mythology, except that there was no connection with horses.

Terrifying combination with which you can easily flood more than one city. Actually the trump card of this transformation is the flooding and destruction of the world. Good thing it was never used.

But even if the Soul of God wasn't lost and was still here, I wouldn't use it, even with all the power it gives. According to the canon, I know only one person with the Soul of God, and this is Dimaria Yesta, who used the Soul of Chronos.

And I remember very well how many shortcomings and problems Dimeria had with this Magic, despite all its power. Unlike other forms of this Take-Over Magic, the God Soul retains its self-awareness and personality, thus affecting its user. I don't need that.

Especially since the Gods are known for their obnoxious nature, arrogance and all. Dealing with people like that is a pain in the ass, so no thanks. And here is the Soul of an Angel, suits me perfectly, as it is combined with my Magic, besides, self-consciousness is not in it.

In fact, this is the same transformation as that of the Soul of Satan Mirajane, only the polar opposite.

In the part of the book about Arariel, there was also a story about how the Sixth got this Soul of an Angel. In fact, the story is rather unimpressive.

Through the Fourth's memoir, which chronicled all the adventures he had experienced, the Sixth learned of Angel Magic, as the Fourth met a Mage using it.

Angel Magic is a version of summoning magic that summons real Angels into our world at the expense of the user's life force. To summon Angels, need special golden moments, like the Keys of the Celestial Spirits. Although it is a dangerous Magic, it is quite powerful. Sorano of the Oración Seis used this magic for a while.

Eventually, the Sixth found a relative of that person who also used Angel Magic. Shortly thereafter, the Sixth learned that there was an Angel who was connected with the water power, and as a result, he forced that person to summon Arariel.

With the power of the Dragon Slayer, the armor, and the Leviathan, Six was able to kill Arariel, though not without problems, and before his body disappeared, he used Take-Over Magic to absorb Arariel and gain his transformation.

The trouble is that Angel Magic works in a special way. All damage that the Angels take is transferred to the user. In the end, the death of Arariel also meant the death of the caster. But he was a simple innocent Mage. Here is the noble Chosen One of the Sea...

The powers themselves, which the Soul of Arariel gives during transformation, are similar to the powers of the Soul of Poseidon. There is also control over the surrounding water, although not absolute, and Water Magic with Storm Magic.

Well, being the Soul of Angel, Arariel has Light Magic, and as a feature of the Sea Angel, it also has Holy Water Magic, a mixture of Water and Light Magic. The cool thing is that Arariel also has a Water Body, just like Juvia, and his soul carrier can also turn his body into water to pass physical attacks through the body. A sort of Hydrofication.

I also learned another feature of this Angel Soul. All experience that the previous owners of this Soul have earned is saved and the next owner can get access to it. That is, as soon as I absorb the Soul of Arariel with the help of Take-Over Magic, I will get the experience of possessing the soul of this Angel from the Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Chosen of the Sea. This is without a doubt a huge plus.

However, the problem is that nothing was written in this book about how to learn Take-Over Magic. Most likely due to the fact that so many people knew how to use this Magic in this country, and any successor of the Chosen simply had to know this Magic.

I already thought that I would have to learn Take-Over Magic from Mirajane when I joined Fairy Tail, but I was lucky. One of the books I found in the affected library was just about this Magic.

Everything I need to know about Take-Over Magic was written in it, and actually how to capture souls for transformation. The second book was just about Water Magic. Nothing very interesting or useful.

Now that I've finished with the books, I can start collecting trophies. I really need to learn Take-Over Magic first.
