Chapter 31. Beth, the official magus

Time passed in a blink of an eye and 4 years passed,

Tirus had the technique successfully modified by the A.I. chip. He gave the technique its original name, 'Elemental Bone method' and even named the slave girl.

Beth. That was the name given to her by Tirus. Althpugh it was a simple name, it held much more importance to this girl and considered it a reward.

Even before she was turned into a slave, she hadn't been given proper attention in her life and now, even those memories were hazy.

So, just this name was the greatest reward she had ever been given.

This filled her with immense gratitude. Paired with her unwavering loyalty as a slave, she threw herself into an intense cultivation session.

She cultivated the Bone element and had grade 5 talent. Due to this, her master allowed her to cultivate her body as well.

She started her knight cultivation after reaching the level of grade 2 acolyte.

She stopped her knight cultivation after she reached the realm grand knight and wholeheartedly focused on her acolyte cultivation.

She didn't have an A.I. chip unlike Tirus and even her natural talent was slightly worse than his, which resulted in her making little progress in the subject of transfiguration.

As for potioneering? She tried really hard but at last, she decided that she just didn't have any talent in that field, but in reality, it was just that she was simply average while she had only one person, her master, to compare herself to.

Speaking of which, Tirus became a potions master and a master in the field of transfiguration within these 4 years with the help of the A.I. chip.

It's monstrous information gathering capability coupled with his sea of magic crystal were enough for him to reach this level.

"Beth, looks like you can make a breakthrough anytime now." Tirus looked elated while saying this.

"Mh, yes I feel it as well. Master, tell me, when will I be able to make the breakthrough?" Beth asked.

A slave inquiring their master about something. If it were under normal circumstances, then such a slave would have been killed as punishment.

However, she was special. She was the result of Tirus's experiments. At first, she didn't talk much, but Tirus allowed her to talk freely infront of him, as long as she was respectful.

Tirus explained to her the method in great detail, Beth decided to make a break through after he refined the potion 'Thamion's essence'.

'She is proving to be much more useful than I thought.' This thought came to Tirus's mind everytime Beth made advancements, whether it be in her cultivation or knowledge in other fields, it was all immensely useful to him.

A few days later,

Tirus wiped out all her remanant memories of past. Now, she only had the memories from when she came to him 4 years ago.

Beth sat cross-legged in the middle of a formation inscribed with runes glowing in a mysterious azure radiance.

This was a special formation designed by Tirus himself after years of experiments and simulations from the A.I. chip.

This formation, once activated, would stimulate the spiritual force within the acolyte to help them break through to official magus rank without leaking any radiation outside.

"Start the formation when I order you to." Tirus ordered his acolyte slave, number 6, to activate the formation once Beth said that she was ready.

After Tirus exited the room.

She took a deep breath and drank a pink color potion, which gave off a rosey fragrance. Soon, all the already concentrated earth energy particles started rushing towards her as her breathing became uneven.

"Start the formation." She said in a low, yet determined voice, a second later, the formation was activated and the concentration of earth energy particles intensified.

Outside the room,

"Hm, Success! There is no radiation leaking out of the room." Tirus exclaimed as he turned around to see the door of the room in which Beth was making her breakthrough.

Several hours passed by and even though almost no radiation was leaked, the dense earth energy particles in that room caused the entire mansion's temperature to rise slightly.

Inside the room, Beth opened her now brown eyes and noticed her hair.

"My hair colour changed to brown and my spiritual force has increased greatly, seems like the breakthrough was successful." She murmured to herself.

"Master! I broke through." She exclaimed loudly, though the voice didn't leave the mansion, it still traveled through the entire place as Tirus appeared right next to her in a second.

"Congratulations." He said with a smile.

A year later,

Tirus was eating his dinner while Beth stood beside him.

She looked at him and said "Master, I have an idea about my zombie transformation, will you see if there are any problems?"

"Of course." He replied as he commanded the A.I. chip to scan her stats.

Her physical stats made great progress after she broke through to the realm of grand knights, and it had been one year after she became a magus.

During this one year, she didn't consume any potions, as the cultivation speed of her 'Elemental Bone cultivation' meditation technique was already too fast for her.

And thus, she thought she would be able to lay a stable foundation for this meditation technique if she didn't consume any potions before her spiritual force reacehd a certain point, that was, 40 units.

"Show me the technique after the dinner, I'll tell you how it is and where you can improve tomorrow." He said.

"Okay." She replied enthusiastically.

After he ate,

Tirus made his way to the underground laboratory to see Beth's transfiguration technique.

'Gray ashen zombie? She really isn't that creative when it comes to naming, is she?' Tirus thought as he looked at the name of the transfiguration technique she developed after years of hard work and sometimes taking reference from the book "Demonic zombie transformations".

She wanted to make her original technique, after seeing her determination, he didn't feel like stopping her.

As the name of this technique suggested, it gave its user the ability to transform themselves into gray skinned zombies with cracks on their skin.

Although this transformation wouldn't increase the user's strength or agility stats, it would, however, make them immune to all physical damage and pain.

However, this transformation could only be maintained for a little over an hour.

'Oh, it looks somewhat similar to my zombie transformation!' He exclaimed in his mind.

Tirus had selected a zombie transfiguration to study in these four years. His selected zombie transformation could increase his strength up to two times, and also allow him to become immune to all physical damage and pain that he could get during a battle.

But there was one huge flaw in it, and that was the massive decrease in agility stat. His enemies could easily out run him, so it was either killing them in one punch or letting them escape with their lives.

And letting his enemies live was something Tirus couldn't accept, so he didn't use it on himself yet attempting to solve the problem of low agility.

He could use the 'Bone Armor' spell used by that magus Kask, however, it would cost him spiritual force to cast it. On the other hand, the zombie transformations wouldn't cost him any spiritual force.

And so, he had already started making a new zombie transformation without any flaws, but to think that Beth was thinking the same was a surprise to Tirus.

"Hm, there are some small flaws in the process, but if I..." Tirus started thinking at rapid speed, although he knew that he could improve or even perfect this technique within a day with the help of the A.I. chip.

Bu he decided against it. He wanted to experience how it would feel to work on this technique all by himself. He knew he had enough knowledge and time, so why be in a hurry?

Tirus showed Beth how impressed he was by the technique and then started focusing on improving it.

Although Tirus had no problem with experimenting for months alone, but after those few months, he even started skipping all of his meals and sleep.

Beth also learned a lot from Tirus during this period and today, the 'gray ashen zombie' transformation was finally perfected.

"Number 6, I'm going to start the experiment, grit your teeth." Tirus ordered his slave as he activated a formation laid out in the experimental room.

"Argh!" The slave continued to scream, blood started leaking out of his eyes sockets and his skin started turning ashen gray, as if being burnt.

This slave was previously soul searched by Tirus in order to lay his foundation in the field of formations, which caused the poor slaves already bad aptitude of grade 2 to drop until the bottom of grade 1.

It was a good thing that he had already a peak grade 2 acolyte, otherwise, he'd be of no use.

Number 6 kept screaming until Beth's ears started to hurt, covering her ears as she put on an annoyed expression.

Soon, the screams stopped and Tirus scanned the slave's body.

[Calculating data...The target has survived the experiment and has fully transformed into an 'ashen gray zombie'.]

[Aside from the excruciating pain during the users of this transformation would only feel a numbing sensation whenever they transform.]

"Success!" Tirus and Beth exclaimed at the same time, filled with joy, they hugged each other tightly.

'She really is the perfect lab assistant.' He thought.
