Chapter 9: break throughs

One click and the situation were completely reversed. Jadhiel's enemy's body was completely torn apart until there was nothing left of it.

As his weapon also caused small bruises to Jadhiel's soul, the enemy's soul had been ripped out of his body of its core, and its have been denied the right to go to the reincarnation cycle, as its essence and will were converted into pure energy. The same has happened to the enemy's father, the clan head, and his ancestress.

His previous enemy's soul, the daughter of his now dead animal, was not strong enough to make his soul evolve again, but now with the system's careful compensations, his system panel changed, he decided to rename his soul physique, and now his panel looked like this:

Vitality Body Physique was the name he gave to his vitality physique when it evolved. The name that he gave his evolved soul physique was purely based on the changes that happened with his soul.

After absorbing the souls from the Heavenly Lumen ancient clan, which have light-based soul techniques that can numb enemy soul senses and burn souls; a giant sun appears above Jahdiel's soul.

The soul of the ancestress of the clan had a weak intent from the actress law of the earth, which the system made good use of to pave a soil below the plants on his soul. Nourished by a sun and soil, the 'plants' grew sharply forming a very threatening jungle. Jahdiel was truly a deadly trap, the plants poison and corrode, the sun numbs the senses and burns, and the earth-like quicksand slowly swallows the invaders.

Jahdiel had enough qi to break through to the next realm, which he learned from the souls that he absorbed that was named Mind Awakening Realm, he hold back however, both to stabilize his foundation and to maybe evolve his physique a bit more.

Without its ancestress and sect master, the Heavenly Lumen was limited to having five elders on the Mind Awakening Realm, the clan member thought that they have offended some sort of powerhouse, because of the way the clan elder and ancestress died. Their soul and body disappeared, and only a wisp of their mind was left, which quickly dissipated.

They started to be bullied by their neighbor, the Brísingamen ancient clan and lost their foothold in the Golden Path. The golden path is a road in the small plains between Lumen and Brísingamen mountains, it connects the Eight Treasure Sect to the Empire capital.

Brísingamen clan did not make a visit to take Lumen's mountain because they were fearful of the defense formations of the Lumen clan. Each formation in the ancient clans was scary, all ancient clans' mountainous territories were nearly impenetrable fortresses. The Lumen clan's territories out of the mountains and business started to be taken over by their neighbors. It was ironic that the Lumen clan and Brísingamen were allies for millennia, but now that the Lumen showed weakness, the alliance was torn as a wastepaper, and the Lumen were now subordinates to the ancient clans' alliance, not a member anymore.

The Eight Treasure Sect which was also the Lumen clan ally did not bother to defend them either or at least mediate the disputes with Brísingamen, which was also their ally.

With this, the weakest of this world's major powers became even weaker. While the empire has thirteen cultivators in the peak, the sect association has ten, and the ancient sects alliance has only eight.

Jadhiel thought that joining a sect was a waste of time when he was holding back his breakthrough. He traveled back to his parent's house and make some improvements and strengthened the formation, he made the same with his birth village.

After returning to treasure city and renting a room, he broke through. He started to advance in the realm and after a year he had already reached the peak of the realm, he also reached the eighth realm of body cultivation.

Breaking through, the Mind Awakening Realm was a strange experience, it involves sensing the mind and sending qi to it, which was much more difficult than sensing the meridians, the daintian, and even the soul. While the soul in this world felt sort of physical when one reached a certain level of strength the mind always felt illusory and vague.

It was a metaphysical entity between the body and mind, with three pillars one at the daintian, the other at the meridians, and the last at the core of one soul. It was also very difficult to break through because connecting with the mind was something very unnatural and counterintuitive, as all think and understand their senses with the mind. It was like a fire feeling its own heat, water feeling wet, and so on.

The previous realm, in which one must cultivate daintian, meridians, and soul at the same time worked as a way of synchronizing the three pillars so one can access their mind. In Jahdiel's mind, a castle was born, it was what the cultivators in this world call a mind palace, but considering his mind defenses, Jahdiel thought calling it a castle or fortress makes more sense. Different from the soul which needs technique to be given form, the mind can assume any form, because everything in it is an illusion.

The sensation of being near the peak cultivation realm was strange, he felt like a veil have been uncovered. He guessed the origin of it, the next and last realm of this world was the Law Awakening Realm by what the memories of his absorbed souls said. It's like his connection to nature deepened. He entered an enlightenment state, Jahdiel could feel like the world was his to decipher. His vitality affinity became much clearer, and it felt like his mind gained life.

His soul affinity became much clearer, and his mind seem to have a soul within. Although the two laws resonate with each other, they seem to conflict deeply. Jahdiel needed a middleman to avoid the laws tearing his mind from the inside. He thought fast and got space, it was not connected to any of these two but it worked fine to separate matter, time, and energy.

But what Jahdiel knew about space he started to think about Einstein's Theory of Gravity, he knew the theory did not work for everything like some very extreme points like really extreme gravity points near a black hole where it went relatively wrong, and at the quantum scale(very small particles) were it gives absurd results. Jadhiel understood what the theory proposes and implies, but not the mathematics behind it, so the knowledge from which he started was very limited.

But as he began to think and think more, it became clearer and clearer, until he perfectly understood how mass bends the space-time fabric and adjusted the theory to work even inside a black hole and at a quantum scale. His mind exercise would maybe be enough to give him a Nobel Prize back on Earth if his theory was proven. After some adjustment the space was adapted to properly fit his present reality, as the space, there was similar but not the same as the one back on Earth's universe.

Jadhiel concluded that enlightenment was a very unfair cheat. It not only unlocks the restrictions on a cultivator to comprehend the laws of nature, but it connects it. His mind became less illusory and started to resemble a physical space, where vitality and soul have spread around and his castle stood in the center.

His space-time law reached the beak of comprehension and he felt he could already breakthrough, but that it would not be a wise choice. Jahdiel understood why. It was because his other two laws had not reached the peak. He felt tired, so he decided to go out to stretch his legs.

"My lord, we did not disturb you because you seem to be in meditation, but we would like to ask you to please pay your debts with the proper fine because there has been a year since you stood in that room. So there is a year of unpaid bills with interest." The girl said trembling all over, as she feared that Jahdiel would behave like a typical young master, still, the girl bravely gave him the bill.

"Ok." Jahdiel said.

The girl looked at him incredulously, feeling like she was seeing a miracle. She was thanking heaven and earth for her luck. Paying the bills that's how Jahdiel became poor again. He nearly cried, because of the lost gold.

He tried to become a grandmaster, but it took him one more year. His understanding of his affinities increased a bit. He was now twenty-one years old, he traveled again and turned the formation protecting his parents and his village into law-level formations. His parents have reached the Daintian Awakening Realm finally with all resources he poured into them.
