Rhett took a deep breath as he came out of the alley and walked briskly down the street, looking sideways very quickly it was almost unnoticeable. He definitely had to be careful as this was just early in the morning and he was sure there would be beasts roaming around in the street by now.
He walked near the shops, occasionally looking at the street lights up above his head. He was a tall young man, almost a teenager, some freckles on his quite handsome face and dark curly hairs on his head.
The sky was dark, although it was beginning to show some signs of light. He took to a corner, the trash bag firmly clenched in his right hand. He had to take the trash and by his calculations, this was the right time to do it, he was sure they would be many beasts by morning.
Walking down the corner, he saw big trash cans lined up ahead behind the wall. He heaved a sigh of relief and scurried over to them. The place reeked badly and his face was wrinkled into a grimace from the smell. From afar he flung the trash bag over and it landed into one.
"Slam!", he said fiercely and turned to leave when he heard a little growl. He stopped instantly, his eyes opened wide, his feet rooted to the spot.
He heard the growl again and then, scared as hell, Rhett broke into a run. Suddenly a hand was forward, into his chest, falling him down. The growl became louder and as he opened his eyes, he saw flying just a bit in air, a white dragon. The breathing of the dragon, blowing on his skin, cold and icy.
"Damn, an ice dragon!", Rhett exclaimed.
It was a small dragon though, with large massive wings, almost twice the size of its body. Rhett crawled back, the dragon followed. He kept crawling until he reached a trash can. He looked back, the trash can smelling pretty badly. It was a dead end!.
The dragon twisted its neck sideways and grinned, then moving back, it charged at Rhett. He reacted to the dragon's move quickly as he fell sideways. Meanwhile,the dragon drove into the trash can, the contents spilling on it's body.
Rhett quickly stood up and then out of a trash can rose a hand in gloves. On the hand was a gigantic sword. And to Rhett's surprise, the hand threw the sword towards him.
Rhett dived sideways as the sword almost cut him in half. The ice dragon was now getting up and Rhett was getting terrified.
"Slay it", said a voice from the trash can.
Rhett quickly picked up the sword and, as if bolstered by bravery, he drove it at the neck of the dragon who was charging at him. The dragon fell down and Rhett, shocked, dropped the sword.
A tiny crimson stone suddenly came out of the ice dragon's body. It floated in the air and Rhett, out of curiosity, went over and took it in his hands.
It instantly, like a ghostly thing, entered into his body. He moved back and flung his hand forward for the stone to go away but it was already in.
A head sprouted out of the trash can and then another from another trash and then…Nine heads were out of the trash cans, staring at Rhett who was shocked:
"Who are you guys?", he asked.
"We are the dragon slayers", said the man who had earlier thrown him the sword.
Rhett furrowed an eyebrow. "Wait, do you guys live in the trash cans".
The man smiled. "Kinda, this was our temporary home while we searched for a king but now we've found one, and that's you!."
He struggled out of the trashcan and walked over to Rhett who was scared.
Holding Rhett on the shoulder, he said: "What's your name my good man?".
"Rhett", came a nervous reply.
The others were already out of the trash cans, they all, including the man who was standing in front of Rhett, were clothed in Vikings clothings. The man In front of Rhett, with his long grey beards turned back and looked at the others.
"Let's hail our new king, the king of the dragon slayers, king Rhett!".
Rhett was befuddled, his face twisted into a grimace and he genuinely couldn't reason what was currently happening. It felt rushed to him. He was a king?, so quickly, how?.
"King?, I'm no king", he protested "I'm just a-".
"Ssssshhh my king", said the man. "We must now go back to our world, the slayer's domian".

Rhett and the dragon slayers walked down the streets. Although it felt awkward walking with them, he genuinely had no choice. Moreover, life to him on this earth was getting scarier and scarier by the day. It was hell living here now, the fear of monsters and rare beasts had made life very uncomfortable for him.
It had been three months ago actually, when the people of the streets started seeing beasts and monsters and flying dragons. It had been more scarier then to even stay indoors in your house, let alone step outside. Soon, some humans known has slayers came and started slaying the beasts.
There was ghost slayers, demon slayers, gargoyle slayers and dragon slayers. They thought they had slain them all and left, but apparently they hadn't, and the people of earth had to live daily in constant fear.
Now, Rhett was startled he had met dragon slayers and surprisingly, he is now their king.
"Are we almost at the slayer's domian?", asked Rhett.
"No m'lord", came the reply from from the man with the long grey beards.
'M'lord?', thought Rhett. 'Hell, I'm being addressed as m'lord'.
The old man led them to a closed shop and pushed the door open. Rhett was shocked.
"The sign clearly states it's closed", he said.
"But not for us dragon slayers", said the old man.
The shop was empty, it was a coffee shop. The table and chairs were deserted and the only living being in the shop apart from them was an old man snoring at the counter.
"Hey man", said the man who had been talking to Rhett, his name was actually Ash.
The old man who was snoring at the counter suddenly jolted out of sleep alarmed.
"How did you get in?", the old man asked.
"I just pushed the door open", Ash said pointing to the door.
"Oh", the old man laughed. "I guess I forgot to lock it".
"We want a slayer pen", blurted Ash.
The old man looked at Rhett who nodded in greeting. "Who's that?", he asked.
"Our new king", replied Ash. "He'll need the pen to activate his abilities".
The old man only nodded and bent down, scattering many things before he eventually stood up back with a pen in his hand. He handed it to Ash who gave it to Rhett.
Rhett looked at it suspiciously, a benighted look on his face.
"I guess you guys will want to use the elevator?", asked the old man.
"You bet", Ash said.
The old man pointed to a curtain at the corner of the wall at his right. It stood lonely, farther by the corner. Rhett quickly took to lead as was expected of him and pulled the curtain aside, a door showing.
There were many switches and he just clicked any, the act opening the door. They went Inside and as the door gently shut, the old man waved at them. Ash waved back, turning to Rhett and saying:
"When we enter the slayer's domian, write KING OF DRAGON SLAYERS on your wrists so that you'll be able to gain your abilities and supernatural powers as our king".
