Chapter 151 : Neon's Last Stupidity!!

Germain was still half-kneeling on the roof of the car, having just finished cleaning the motorcycles.

At that moment, seven or eight cars were in hot pursuit. The Mafia members inside yelled at Germain, sticking their heads out of the windows.

Some of them brandished pistols and submachine guns, while others pulled out rocket launchers.

Using a bazooka... Germain thought about Neon in the car.

It seemed the Shadow Beast and the Mafia members had received new orders from the Ten Dons to abandon Neon, despite Light's objections. This meant she was no longer valuable as a hostage.

Maybe Light didn't even know that his daughter was in serious danger.

Regardless, the Ten Dons could pretend they were unaware of Neon's situation, then "accidentally" kill her and offer Light some compensation later.

Germain didn't wait for the other side to fire a rocket first. He waited for the cannon to be ready, aimed it at the Mafia members cars behind him, and fired.

Bang—

The first two cars exploded in flames, flipping several times before landing on the bridge.

The third car, which was too close, tried to avoid the blast. Whether from the explosion or from oversteering, it crashed through the railing and plunged into the icy Theodore River.

The remaining cars continued their pursuit.

As Germain waited for the cannon to reload, he heard rockets whistling through the air.

However, the black car beneath him swerved skillfully, causing the rocket to miss.

With a bang, the rocket exploded nearby, and the sound rattled Germain's eardrums.

The car jolted suddenly, nearly throwing him off, but being a Nen user, he managed to grab the edge and maintain his balance.

"Teacher?"

Kurapika poked his head out from the driver's seat. He had just seen the rocket coming in the rearview mirror and quickly pressed the accelerator, turning the steering wheel. Only then did he check on Germain.

Germain didn't look back; he knocked on the roof and said, "I'm fine. Keep driving."

"Okay." Kurapika pulled his head back inside the car.

At that moment, they had already crossed two-thirds of the Twin Bridges.

Meanwhile, Neon sat in the back seat, her hair a mess from the cold wind rushing through the open window. Gradually, she stopped curling up in fear.

Outside the car, there were constant shouts, gunfire, and explosions, but inside, it was relatively quiet, as if they were in two different worlds.

Neon looked around in fear and saw the man in the bird-beak mask still on the car roof, while the blond young man in front focused on driving fast.

Suddenly, she realized this might be her only chance to survive.

Her dad wasn't here, Eliza wasn't here, and Dalzollene wasn't here, so she had to find a way out on her own.

In that moment, she made a huge mistake, and it would be her last.

Neon opened the door on her side of the car, glanced at the flashing road, closed her eyes, and jumped out.

No one, including herself, could understand why she jumped or why she closed her eyes.

What Germain saw was the car door flying open and Neon leaping out.

It all happened so quickly that Germain couldn't catch her in time.

The girl tumbled across the road, her head and limbs twisted in a terrible way.

Neon jumped out of the speeding car in pure terror and Germain knew she wasn't a strong Nen user and wouldn't survive.

Kurapika glanced in the rearview mirror but kept driving without saying a word.

Germain didn't care about Neon's fate. He slammed the car door and turned to see the black car chasing him.

There were members of the Shadow Beasts in several of the cars.

At the same time, he noticed that his "Three Attribute Nen Tank" was full.

Without hesitation, Germain used two of his Three Attribute Nen Tank to power the cannon that materialized once more.

The "First Attribute Nen Tank" improved the cannon's penetration and range, while the "Second Attribute Nen Tank" kept those benefits and increased its explosive power.

With a crackling sound, the cannon in Germain's arms began to change shape.

Its once simple design now had a sleek, futuristic look, shining with metallic luster.

With a whoosh, a long, slender shell shot out from the barrel!

As Germain raised the cannon, the Shadow Beast members in the car reacted.

"He's about to fire again! Get out of the way!" shouted a cockroach, one of the Shadow Beasts.

"Don't be afraid, I'll stop it!"

Fish, one of the Shadow Beasts beside him, assessed the cannon's power that Germain had just fired. Then, he climbed onto the roof of the car like Germain had done.

He puffed up his body against the strong wind, blocking the front of the car like a balloon.

If it were just the power of the cannon from before, Fish's swollen skin would have been enough to deflect the cannonball, and he planned to do just that.

But he didn't expect the shell fired this time to be much stronger. The moment it hit his belly, he sensed something was wrong, but it was too late.

"Wait…" Fish didn't have time to finish his shout.

The cockroach sitting in the car was stunned.

Boom!

The massive explosion engulfed almost half of the bridge's width, creating a hole in the bridge deck.

The people in the first three cars were killed instantly, while the two cars at the back couldn't brake in time and fell off the bridge.

Originally, the casualties wouldn't have been this high, but Fish's bulging belly temporarily blocked the road and failed to deflect the shells, making him a liability.

As a result, after the explosion, all the vehicles following them were also caught in chain collisions, leading to another explosion and fire.

Germain counted and saw that the recent explosion had killed two more Shadow Beasts, leaving only four chasing after him.

This included the only flying Shadow Beast.

Germain didn't know that the Shadow Beast was called Falcon. When he calmed down, he noticed it hadn't shown up for a while. He glanced at the railing on the other side of the Twin Bridges.

Suddenly, Falcon flew out from there.

He didn't realize that there were only four Shadow Beasts left out of ten. He felt proud that he had unexpectedly flown from under the bridge to intercept them.

Of course, he heard the explosion, but he never imagined that most of the Shadow Beasts were dead or injured and that a hole had been blown in the bridge deck. The Mafia members behind couldn't provide timely support.

The Falcon attacked from both sides, catching Germain and Kurapika off guard.

Germain was indeed a little surprised to see the Falcon here, but he put away the cannon and didn't panic.

Falcons fly very fast and are small targets, making it unlikely that a cannon would hit them.

He turned his head, pretending not to notice the Falcon's approach, and continued to look in the direction of the original pursuers.

The Falcon hesitated to attack Germain directly. Instead, it flew over the bridge, aiming to strike Kurapika, who was in the driver's seat.

Kurapika noticed a dark shape speeding toward him. Just as he was about to turn the steering wheel, he heard a knock on the roof, followed by his teacher's calm voice.

"Don't be afraid; just hit it."

Kurapika was momentarily stunned but didn't think too much about it. There was no car in front of him, so he pressed the accelerator, and the car roared ahead!

The Falcon was confused by this.

The car sped past too quickly for him to get inside, kill Kurapika, and escape without a trace.

After a moment of hesitation, a black car zoomed by.

The Falcon regretted hesitating when it suddenly saw a dark shadow rush toward him.

Startled, he flapped his wings hard and flew up.

A long whip, like a snake, wrapped around the Falcon's legs and claws. Suddenly, he heard a swish and was yanked down to the ground.

With a loud bang, the Falcon crashed, feeling as if his entire skeleton had shattered.

Realizing the danger, he quickly got up, ready to take off again.

Germain's Firearm was pressed against Falcon's head, holding him down.

The Falcon groaned, too afraid to fly. He slowly raised his wings, which transformed into human hands, looking at Germain in fear while breathing quickly.

"I… I… it was the Ten Dons's order… it wasn't… it wasn't me…"

Falcon babbled incoherently for a moment.

Germain realized he wouldn't get any useful information from him, so he pulled the trigger. Falcon's head exploded, and he fell back.

Three dark figures rushed over, leaping off the railings of the Twin Bridges to land in front of Germain.

They were the remaining three Shadow Beasts: the evil wolf, the stinky rat, and the poisonous snake.

Seeing the large hole blasted in the bridge ahead, with over ten cars exploding and catching fire, blocking their path, they quickly abandoned their vehicles and chased after him.

Upon seeing Falcon's body and realizing Germain was no longer escaping in a car, they suddenly understood what was happening and felt intense anger.

They realized that this bastard had never intended to escape in the first place.

Germain had deliberately engaged in mobile warfare, stretching the battle line while speeding across the twin bridges, creating a situation where the ten Shadow Beasts couldn't attack together.

This was probably his plan from the start. He intended to wipe us all out right here! What an arrogant idea!

Germain probably thought there were only three Shadow Beasts left and decided it was time to stop running. He chose to wait for the final battle.

This was his plan, one that completely disrespected all the Shadow Beasts!

While the Wolf, Rat, and poisonous Snake were angry, they also realized a harsh truth: the situation was unfolding just as Germain had predicted.

We can't let him win! We can't let him succeed!

This thought raced through all three of their minds.

"I'm ready to go," Stinky Rat announced.

The Evil Wolf and the Snake nodded in agreement, pulling out the gas masks they had prepared earlier and putting them on.

Stinky Rat's large body shook, releasing a foul odor that drifted toward Germain like a cloud of smoke.

The stench wasn't deadly, but it spread quickly, and even inhaling a little could cause intense dizziness and make someone vomit.

Germain, wearing a bird-beak mask, frowned and took a few steps back, trying to avoid the noxious smoke.

At that moment, the wolf and the snake darted to Germain's side and attacked him together!
