"Hey! Kael, wait for me!"
In the hallway outside the Potions classroom.
Kael was just about to report to Dumbledore when Hermione stopped him.
"Kael, can we talk?" The little girl had a complex expression on her face.
"Of course!"
The two of them moved to a quiet corner.
"Go ahead, what do you want to talk about?" Kael asked, looking at the girl in front of him.
At this time, Hermione still didn't know much about dressing up and wore glasses, but upon closer inspection, it was clear she was undoubtedly a budding beauty.
"Well, I wanted to say..."
"Why were you sorted into Slytherin?"
"You don't really seem like..."
Hermione stuttered, clearly unsure of how to phrase her question.
But Kael understood immediately.
"Are you worried I'll become a Dark wizard?"
"No, I mean..."
"Hermione, does being in Slytherin mean you're automatically a bad person?"
"As far as I know, Slytherin has produced over a dozen Potions Masters and several Ministers of Magic throughout history."
"Many more have served in the upper ranks of the Ministry of Magic."
"Really?" Hermione asked, a bit doubtful.
This didn't quite match what she had learned in Gryffindor.
"Of course! If you ever have the chance to go to Knockturn Alley, you might hear my name."
"Kael, Bane of Dark Wizards!"
Kael's eyes didn't blink, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, though his tone remained serious.
"Honestly, there aren't many kind-hearted young wizards like me left!"
Hearing this, Hermione's face turned bright red.
She looked down.
"Kael, uh, can you put your hand on your own chest when you say that?"
"Huh? Oh, sorry, my mistake!"
"Well, I have some business to attend to, so if there's nothing else, I'll be on my way." Kael waved.
He still had to report to Dumbledore!
"Okay! See you later then!" Hermione replied, still looking a bit flustered.
How can someone speak honestly...
While touching someone else's chest?!
…
"Hermione, what are you doing here?" Just as Kael left, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley passed by.
"Oh, nothing. I was just heading back to the common room."
Hermione tried to sound casual.
"Really? Then we can go back together."
"No, Harry, I think you should go to the hospital wing first. I still can't understand why you suddenly feel Snape is your father!"
Ron chimed in from the side.
"Oh, Ron, you don't get it."
"Professor Snape may seem like he's targeting me, but I have to admit, he's one of the three… no, two people..."
Harry initially wanted to say the third person who cared about him, but after thinking for a moment…
He wasn't sure if the second instance with Kael in the Transfiguration classroom counted or not.
"Anyway, I can feel that he cares about me."
"Remember what Kael said?"
"When I'm at Hogwarts..."
"But he told you to go to the hospital wing…" Ron was too exasperated to continue.
"But didn't you notice how strict he sounded at first, and then he wasn't so harsh afterward?"
"What do you think, Hermione?"
"huh?" Hermione, lost in her thoughts about Kael, was suddenly called on.
She gave a non-committal reply.
"Maybe you're right."
"There must be something keeping him from acknowledging me. I think it's the eyes."
"He kept staring at my eyes today, maybe he doesn't like them?"
"Hermione, do you know any way to change my eye color?"
Harry asked the know-it-all Hermione for help.
"Um, I'm not really sure. But maybe you could look for a solution in the library. There are lots of books there!"
"Good idea!"
…
<Headmaster's Office>
"Headmaster, I need to speak with you!"
For the second time in one day, Snape walked into the Headmaster's office.
"Severus, you're here!" Dumbledore, who had taken a nap all morning, seemed in decent shape. Of course, that was just on the surface.
He had just sent off Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick and was feeling quite overwhelmed.
Originally, he thought Kael was just like the Weasley twins, pulling off harmless little pranks.
But...
He had underestimated it!
It turned out Dumbledore's expectations were too low!
Compared to Kael, the twins were practically saints.
And it was only the first day of the new term!
The ceiling of the Transfiguration classroom was gone, and so was the wall of the Charms classroom.
And with now counting Snape, the head of Slytherin House...
Three Heads of House had already come to complain.
"Perhaps we should come up with a solution; we can't let young Kael continue like this."
Dumbledore said while rubbed his temples in frustration.
Of course, "come up with a solution" didn't mean expelling or punishing him.
Rather, it meant finding a better way to educate Kael…
And, incidentally…
He really didn't want to hear any more complaints from Snape.
"No, absolutely not! I firmly disagree with punishing Kael!"
Snape's sudden declaration left Dumbledore utterly bewildered.
"????"
Did…
Did the old man hear that right?
Snape had been here two days in a row, insisting Kael be expelled.
And now...
