CHAPTER 14

As soon as the three of them step out of the school, they find themselves in the city.

Wherever their eyes wander, they see nothing but emptiness.

Helek and Keroli carry bags on their shoulders filled with water and some biscuits, while baseball bats and knives are strapped on them.

Liam, however, only has a baseball bat since keroli couldn't retrieve the knives he had stored at the school.

As they move forward, they witness the deteriorated state of their city.

Some shops are closed with bloody handprints smeared on their doors, while others, though open, are completely ransacked.

The streets are a mess: scooters lie overturned, cars stand abandoned with blood inside, and some vehicles block the middle of the road.

Their destination is westward, meaning they must reach the city's largest mall to proceed, as the west begins there.
