His Mate, His Enemy.

{THE ROYAL PACK}

"Do you like that my love?"

"Yes. Don't stop please. Mhhh."

"Mmmhhhh."

The air crackled with tension, the scent of sex and hay. Selene's breath hitched as she stood perfectly still, her heart pounding like a drum against her ribs.

The soft rustle of fabric, low toned movements and deep moans filled the enclosed space.

Selene suddenly wished that admist all that had happened today, she had remembered to take off her engagement jewelry. The rings in particular were not helping her keep a firm grip on the bars she was holding on for support.

"Oooh yes my love!." There came another loud moan of satisfaction.

Selene winced inwardly at the voice of her fiancé, Lyall who was presently getting his dick sucked in the royal stables.

She had a front row seat to her cheating fiancé while she was sandwiched in between Hay. She wished that she had had the time to check for somewhere more convenient as a hiding spot.

"Yes! Fuck! Just like that!" Lyall murmured again.

A sudden gust of wind rattled the stable door, making a loud creaking sound. Selene's heart leaped into her throat. She instinctively reached out to steady herself, her fingers grazing the hay. The dry stalks rustled, and a small, delicate ring, her engagement ring, slipped from her finger and fell to the ground. It landed with a soft clink, echoing through the quiet room.

Lyall and his lover froze, their movements halted. A moment of tense silence followed, broken only by the sound of Selene's rapid breathing.

She heard nothing but footsteps. Within seconds, the hay crashed down and she stumbled forward landing on the ground in a heap.

"Selene?" Connor, her brother shrieked in shock and outrage!

"Moonhell!" Lyall cursed as he ran his fingers through his lengthy brown hair in frustration. Connor took in his older sister's petite frame dressed in a raggedy ruby stoned ceremonial cloth that had been perfect hours ago during the engagement ceremony.

Her face was dusty and so was her bald head. Her sharp piecing blue eyes were as expressionless as always. If her hands were not shaking then he wouldn't have known that she was scared.

"What happened to you?" Connor started to ask her but Lyall held on to his arm.

"Connor?" He said through gritted teeth.

"What?" Connor asked unfazed.

Lyall's eyes flashed in anger.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" He breathed out. "Your sister, the Alpha princess who is also my mate to be, has just walked in on us…."

Connor's behaviour didn't really change but his lover's words sank in his ears. His eyes turned to Selene who was still standing before them shivering.

She had thought of running but she knew there was no need. She was no match for an Alpha Prince and an Alpha heir.

"I won't say a word." She said in a loud whisper.

Connor and Lyall exchanged a look. Connor sighed in defeat while Lyall grabbed Selene.

There was no need for her to beg further. She and her fiancée didn't know each other. As for her brother, they had never been close. Strangely, he had still been her preferred sibling. He didn't whip her with spiked torns like Coral did.

He never saved her from being tormented or tortured but he never had a hand in it either.

"What the hell are you even doing here? How did you get here?!" Connor said angrily.

He was furious at the sudden turn of situations. He never imagined that Selene who was always locked up would be the one to catch him and Lyall together.

"Fuck! I can't believe this." Connor murmured audibly.

"Get a hold of yourself." Lyall said gruffly.

Selene was not even struggling, she seemed to have given up already.

She actually had. She thought to herself that two hours ago, she had resigned herself to death so what was the use of begging for her life now?

"I can't get a hold of myself." Connor said angrily.

"You have to. You realise we have to kill your sister now."

"Step Sister." Connor growled.

It made no difference to him.

He had seen Selene as his weaker sister but even Coral was barely anything more than his own twin sister to him.

Now somehow the word step sister comforted him a little.

But all he could think of was his father the king and that terrified him.

"The King's' first child." Connor said as he was pacing about now. "Not Just his first child but his favourite."

"She's cursed for crying out loud."

Lyall disregarded with a scoff.

Connor ignored his lover's comment. "The King will have our heads if we kill her."

"He will have our heads if we don't." Lyall insisted.

His words rang loud and true. If anyone would find out that the Son of the Dark King and the Son of the Shadow pack Alpha were lovers….

"We have to do this." Lyall said speaking to Connor with his eyes.

Connor nodded finally and then sighed. He joined Lyall who picked Selene up and they disappeared out of the palace grounds headed for the mountains.

Selene had her eyes closed throughout as she remained in Lyall's grasp. Her pathetic life would surely come to an end now.

They stopped at the waterfall cliff which was at the borders of the Royal Pack.

Connor's eyes flickered to Selene and pain seized his chest. He held no strong feelings for her but he never imagined that he would have to kill her.

"I'll take care of it." Lyall said.

Connor gave Selene one last look and her deep blue eyes were fixed on him, expressionless. Without a word, he walked away.

Selene felt no disappointment, she felt no fear either. It was dark to think that she welcomed the thought of death. Besides, it was her plan only hours ago.

This was her wish.

She closed her eyes briefly just as Lyall raised her and took her to the edge of the cliff. The waterfall crashed against the rocks, creating a thunderous noise.

Then she looked directly at Lyall and in a swift seamless movement, he clawed her throat in an instant, turned her head around to snap it and threw her body down.

"Shouldn't we worry about getting her scent off us?" Lyall asked as Connor started to walk away without a word.

"There's no need. She has no scent." He said.

As Selene's body moved with the current of the water, she felt herself going lightly as she struggled unconsciously for life.

If she would die then she was sure of two things.

1. Death was better than her life.

2. This would be her second death on her engagement night.
