CHAPTER 4

She didn't know that her life would make a complete turnaround after she accepted the role as the face of the company. She had so many things to do that she could rarely sleep and enjoy her time with her husband. It was as if the Public Relations department saw her as some enemy of some sorts.

She was trying to balance her marriage life, her school work and her work at the same time. At first it was difficult but her husband was a great help to her. He helped her grown and encourages her to dive in deeper to achieve her goals.

Selena was at school stuck in the library studying for an exam she was supposed to write in a week. She was going though many books that would be of great help to her when her new friend Vivian came and sat opposite her.

'Aren't you tired? You have been stuck in here for a while now,' Vivian asked.

'I have to do it now or else when I go home I won't be able to,' she said frowning, thinking of things she had to do when she gets home.

'Are you trying to show off right now? Do you have to remind me that you have a hot husband waiting for you at home?' she sounded furious but Selena found herself laughing. Vivian had many ways of making her laugh and relax. How can she just think of such crazy things like that?

'That's not what I am talking about. We aren't that intimate lately nowadays. He is busy with work and so am I. I have to read a load full of books at home. He is helping me to read all the books on how to be a successful woman,' she explained and saw Vivian drawing up a smile on her face.

'Aren't you just lying to me? Anyway whatever the truth is, I am glad that he is doing that. I wish he can see me like that too,' Vivian said frowning and she just couldn't understand what she was saying.

'You want my husband to look at you like he look at me?' she asked wanting to verify what she just heard.

'I'm not talking about your man, I am talking about mine,' Vivian clarified the situation and Selena took a sigh of relief after hearing that her friend wasn't aiming for her Sean

'You scared the hell out me there. So tell me about this man of yours. Do I know him?' Selena asked. She had wanted to ask about this but because of her work load she forgot it all the time.

'He is the kindest and sweetest person I ever known. He is my brother's friend,' Vivian replied and Selena's mouth opened in shock. Was Vivian trying to woo a person who was older than her like she did? What was wrong with the two of them?

'Are you sure you want to do that? You asked me for advice the other day, so I will do you a favor and tell you something. I used to have a crush on Sean before we started talking but because of our age differences and different backgrounds I couldn't tell him a thing. He is a mature man who has many experiences unlike me. I always said to myself that there would be no way he would look or glance at me. Even if he did, he would only look at me as his little sister or just some other girl who serves him drinks whenever he comes to the restaurant. He didn't marry me because he loved me, I know of the feelings that you gave for him which is why I tolerate everything but I wouldn't want that for you,' Selena tried to give her friend some insight on her relationship.

'It's understandable that you think that way but as someone who had much experience than you I will let you on a secret. If he didn't have any feelings for you, he wouldn't have married you. There are so many women out there, who could fit the criteria of a Sawyer daughter in law but he picked you. Don't you ever look down upon yourself or the love that is between you two,' Vivian said while her hand was on top of hers.

She really felt touched upon hearing what her friend had just said. When she hears it that way she found it easy to believe. They were really a lot of people he could have married but he picked her. She had seen him with other women as well and she could testify to that.

'Thank you for saying that V. I love it that you have such hope and faith but let me ask you a question. Does he feel the same as you do?'

'I never told him which is why I am planning on doing that,' Vivian said.

'What if he rejects you? He is friends with your brother and that might complicate things,' Selena asked worried sick about her friend. She knew how risky this could be.

'I have prepared myself for long. I will handle whatever will come but first I need to say it out before that woman snatches him away from me,' Vivian said as she slapped the book on the table, making some noise and attracting complaints from the other students.

'Take it easy girl. We are in the library, I don't want to get chased out just yet,' Selena said with a smile on her face.

It felt good seeing how competitive her fried was and the look of jealousy on her. She knows how it feels like, seeing Sean with other women was just infuriating.

'Aren't you done studying yet? Let's leave this place and grab something to eat, please,' Vivian pleaded with her and she looked at her.

'Fine, I will go with you. Happy now?' she asked and Vivian grinned. She can never win against her at all. She had been postponing these dates because of work but since she was free she might as well just enjoy this while she can.

'That's my girl,' Vivian said and began to pack her books for her.

Vivian was so eager to make them leave the library and it was time anyway. She had been stuck in the library for hours and she needed to rest her mind too.

'So where are we going?' Selena asked as she stood up.

'There is this new restaurant, you will love it, trust me,' Vivian said as the two of them left the library.

He was about to go for lunch when he received a phone call from an unknown number. He still answered it, curious about whom the caller was.

'Hello, Sean Sawyer speaking,' he said as he answered the call.

'It's good to hear your voice Sean. How have you been?' the question came from the other side and he froze.

How did she get his number? When did she return and why was she calling him now?

'What do you want?' he asked her.

'I want to have lunch with you. I am already at the restaurant, I will wait for you,' she said and hung up.

This was how she was; always expecting him to follow her wherever she goes. Just like those years, she played with him like a toy. Made him fall for her and dumped him when he was no longer of use to her. Now she just come back and wants to meet him?

He stood up and put on his blazer, he was going to meet that ungrateful woman and hear what she wanted.

'I will be going out for a while, I will be back,' Sean told Brian as he left the office.

He took the elevator to the ground floor and Richard was waiting for him.

He gave the address to Richard and sat back as he went on a journey he wasn't willing to do at all.

'I will be out in ten to twenty minutes,' he told Richard as he left the car.

Sean walked into the restaurant and he spotted her the second he entered. She looked gorgeous as ever, there was a time he couldn't breathe upon seeing her but now it was as if he was just meeting another colleague of his.

He walked up to her and she stood up with a smile. He didn't greet her but just sat down in his chair.

'You have gotten moody now that you are married,' Cleo said as he sat down.

'I guess it is the person I am with that is making me like that. I don't have time for you Cleo. So just spill your beans and I will be on my way,' he said wanting to leave as soon as possible.

'We have a lot to catch up on. Do you know how sad I was to hear that you married some kid? I thought you vowed to love only me.'

He was not surprised by her choice of words. She was shameless, how can she utter such words without feeling any remorse?

'You must be mistaken Cleo. The second you betrayed me was the day my love for you ended. I have no feelings for you. As you know I am married and I am loyal to my wife, so I will advise you to stop this stalking or else I will report you,' he said as he stood up.

'You are different now. What did she do to you? We are not that different. Just like me back then she is just going to use you and take your money. At least with me its better, we have known each other for long and understand each other. I still love you,' she confessed to him and he looked at her with spite.

He hated her more than he did anyone in his life. He didn't just hate the fact that she was paid to destroy his life but the fact that she didn't even feel guilty when she did it. She didn't even apologized and saw it as something that was just correct.

If she loved him that much, why did she decide to partner with his enemies and plan his demise?

'That is one strong obsession Cleo. You need to see a doctor and get yourself checked. Don't ever call me again and go back to whatever hell hole you crawled out from,' he said and left the restaurant.

He was in so much pain. All the painful memories just flooded at once. After so many years, why did she cone back he could sense it that Wendy was a part of it. He had never done anything to harm her ever since they were kids and yet she had this natural hate for him.

He was going to solve this issue before it goes any further, he didn't know how further she will go for this crazy talk of hers.

He went outside and Richard was already waiting.

'Where should I take you, Sir?' Richard asked him.

'I miss my wife, let's go and take her,' he said.

'Yes sir.'

Selena had been busy lately because of the workload of being the face of the company. He loved it though, seeing her putting all her attention in what she was doing. He could see her improving daily and that was a relief.

He was missing her so much and he just wanted to see that face and see her smile at him. That pure face was all he needed to forget about his terrible meeting with Cleo.

There were on their way to her school when he saw her busy playing with Vivian. He was glad that she had a friend of her own now unlike when they first met. Richard pulled the car over and Sean came out of the car.

He just stood by the car looking at her as she played with her friend. She had no idea that he was looking and that what made everything interesting. He was glad to see her being so carefree like that. It reminded him that she was just another teenager who happened to get married early. Sometimes he wondered if she hated him for making her marry at such an early age; at her age, she should be dating and enjoying life and not to worry about running a household. Was he too selfish that he used her feelings for him to trap her in this marriage?

As he was busy asking himself questions, she spotted him and as joyful as she was she ran towards him. He simply opened his arms and she ran into them. He embraced her as tight as he can. It felt good feeling her warmth, hearing her heart beat for him and especially the look in her eyes as she looked at him.

'What are you doing here?' she asked him with starts in her eyes.

'I wanted to see you and check if you can spare me some time,' he said.

'Is there something wrong at the company?' she asked with worry in her voice.

'Nothing is wrong. I just wanted to spend some time with you. Do you have classes in the afternoon?' he asked her.

'No, I don't. I am just reading,' she replied.

'Good then. How about we go for a date?' he asked her.

'Are you sure about that?' she asked in return.

'Yes, we both need some rest from work,' he said as he patted her hair.

'Okay, let me go in and take my bags and say bye to Vivian,' she said as she break away from him.

'Okay, I will be waiting for you here,' he said and he watched as she rushed back to her friend. He couldn't wait to hear about that day's events.

...

'Are you leaving me alone?' Vivian asked with a pitiful face.

'I can't say no to him besides I cannot let this opportunity go,' Selena answered as she put her bag on her back.

'Okay, at least I had some time with you. Since you are going I might as well just go home and see what I can do about him,' Vivian said and Selena touched her friend's arm in encouragement.

'I hope it will work out well, I have to go. I will call you later,' Selena said and left her friend alone. She felt bad but there was nothing more she could do.

Since she didn't bring her car because of her tiredness, it was safe for her to go with her husband.

She got inside the car and joined him.

'So where are we going?' she asked him.

'Since you have already eaten, how about we go to the office?' he asked her.

'You want me to go there? Won't you be busy?' she asked him.

'I think I will work well if I see your face, you can read while I work. How about that?' he suggested. She looked at him with disappointment. He had promised her to go on a date and now he was talking about the office. But still it was better than seeing back at home at night.

'Okay, I will go with you then,' she agreed and he smiled at her.

Sean held her hand in the car as they sat while enjoying the drive to the office. They arrived at the office building in ten minutes and with the help of her husband the two walked into the building. Because of her popularity that was being built little by little, she got recognized not by being Sean's wife but with her own merits.

She stepped into his office and now it was familiar unlike the first time she came.

Brian walked in with a smile and greeted her, she greeted him back.

'Can I have the girls send you something?' he asked her and she pondered over it for a while. Since it was this early it meant they will be returning back home a bit late and by then she would be starving again. If she had a proper lunch then she wouldn't complain but Vivian had her eat sandwiches for lunch since they were trending.

'A pizza would do,' she said and Sean looked at her.

'Didn't you eat already?'

'I did but you will never get it,' she answered her husband and Brian laughed.

'I will have them buy it for you now,' he said and left the office.

'What did you two eat?' he asked her as he came to where she was seated.

'Chicken sandwich and a cup of juice,' she told him and he laughed.

'Eat all you want, I wouldn't want you to faint because of hunger here. Just imagine what people will say?' he said as he sat next to her.

'I don't even want to think about it,' she said as she clasped her hands together.

He was too close to her and she was getting affected by it. Unknowingly he made her feel these crazy emotions and she was just too shy to talk about it. If she was bolder enough to tell him what she wants, she would make everything easier.

Sean cupped her chin and she looked at him, her eyes wavering. She couldn't look at him especially with all the crazy things she was thinking.

'Look at me!' he commanded and she did as she was told.

'I like it when you tremble like that. It shows me how much you want me even without saying a word,' he said as he traced her lips with his thumb.

'I....'

'Tell me what you want from me dear and I will give it to you,' he said as he looked at her deep.

He knew what she wanted and yet he was forcing her to say it. Was it really necessary for him to do this? She knew she couldn't say the words out, so she mustered up her courage to do something she had never done before even after they began being intimate. She closed her eyes and leaned towards him. She felt her lips as they touched his. That was scarier than she thought. She was used to him being the first one to initiate contact and since she was doing it, it felt exhilarating. Up n the first contact she withdrew and he looked at her with desire filled in his eyes.

She looked at him without averting her heart was thudding so loudly she could feel her chest vibrating. He pulled her closer to him and she found herself seated on his lap. It was very embarrassing, considering the fact that they were in his office and anyone can just walk in while they were in this kind of position. How would she walk and lift her head after being seen in this state by others. She hooked her hands around his neck in order to support herself.

'I am going to give it to you,' he said and brushed her lips with his. She moaned upon the small contact and he moved away. He was teasing her and there was nothing he could do about it. Sean kissed her on the forehead and she closed her eyes, he kissed her on the top of her nose and then her cheeks. She was blushing all over, the heat was too much and she just didn't know what to do.

She was saved by the bell as Brian abruptly walked in with the pizza without knocking twice. She saw the embarrassment look on his face as he saw how intimate they were.

'I'm sorry I didn't...,' he didn't get to finish since Sean cut him.

'Leave the food at the table and no one is allowed to enter this office until I say otherwise,' Sean said and she looked at him. What was he saying? Was he implying that they were going to do it here with so many secretaries outside? He couldn't be serious right? That wouldn't be right for them to do it. She tried to wiggle herself from his grasp but she found herself pinned on the couch.

Brian just quickly helped himself out without saying another word. If she was him, she would have died at the spot.

'We can't' she whispered as he caresses her shoulders.

'We can,' he said and lowered his mouth to hers.

She couldn't fight him anymore. She wanted him as much as he does and did it even matter where they do it anymore? This might be a good way to make those girls to stop looking at her husband and think of crazy idea. He was hers and she was his. She kissed her husband back and kicked the crazy thoughts in her head away. She was going to make love with her husband and she didn't care if it was in the office.

...

She couldn't look at him in the eyes and he was enjoying it. Remembering just how much she tried to suppress her screams as they made love made his heart race. He had never done that before but with her he just wanted to do all crazy things. He wanted to remember her face, her touch, and her moans as he works in his office every day. Remembering that he was married to a woman who loved him dearly and for no other reasons except her love for him unlike the people like Cleo who had schemes up their sleeves each and every time.

He took a slice of pizza from the box and he gave it to her.

'You should eat, you have exerted a lot of energy,' he said and she looked away because of shyness. He loved teasing her, the look in her eyes and all. He just hoped that one day she would be able to express herself more and not be shy around him. But despite of everything, she was really cute.

He watched her as she ate her piece of pizza and smiled. His phone rang and he stood up to answer it.

'I am sorry to disturb you sir but it's urgent,' Brian said on the other side.

'Come in and let's hear it,' he said as he hung up.

Brian walked in after that and he came straight to him.

'What is it?' he asked him.

'A situation had just risen at the factory and I am afraid that you have to go there yourself,' Brian said looking at Selena.

'Okay, book the flight and I will pack the bag. You can tell me the details later,' he said as he dismissed Brian.

'I will get right to it now,' Brian said and left.

Sean walked back to where his wife was busy enjoying her third slice of pizza. She really amazed him by how huge her appetite was all the time.

'Let's go home. I have an urgent trip in a few hours,' he told her and she stopped eating.

'Is it serious?'

'I will see once I go there, pack up your bags. We are leaving,' he said as he returned to his desk. He packed his bag and took his wife out of the office.
