3: The Danger is within us

Next up is theoretical knowledge. The trainees will learn about their gear, the structure within the military and how to fight the Deadeyes. Mrs. Kronheym, specialist for theory, will lead the class.

,,Wow she looks pretty young for a teacher." says Damiano as the head into the class and take their seats. Aurelio sits in the second row next to Damiano while Emma, who is still mad at him, sits alone at the back.

,,Good morning! We start with a quick introduction. My name is Bella Kronheym and I will teach you the theoretical part of this traing camp." She has burgundy-red hair tied in a ponytail and wears glasses with no frame.

,,We will start with your gear: besides the uniform you will have tools with you depending what your mission is. As you are all First-Years you won't start will the high rank missions, you will start with harvesting. That means collecting essential ressources from Earth like Water, Wheat, etc. for that you are equipped with this Box which fits individually on your back." A dark grey box lies infront of Mrs. Kronheym. It functions as a Backpack which will store the collected water.

„Next is this thing here. This shovel will be used to collect Wheats and seeds. As you see the box has a wall in the middle that divides it. One for Water, one for seeds."

As the lesson continues, it's time for the last topic.

„Once you stepped up in the military ranks you will join the main squad and take part in the main mission: freeing the Fallen Kingdom from the Deadeyes." says Mrs. Kronheym while looking into the frighted faces of the students.

„To kill the Deadeyes, soldiers are equipped with a blade. As we know normal swords don't have an effect on these monsters but after many years of research we found a solution: The Freesia. A flower which can be found on the East at the remainings of the old Temple. The extracts of the flower, known as the „Poison of Angels" works against the Deadeyes. The swords are being dipped into the collected extract and it sticks on the blades like glue."

After the lesson it was time for the last training session of the day. Preparations for the later missions are already starting. The trainees are being teached how to fight with the sword and how to use the Poison correctly.

,,Seems like Emma is still pissed. Did you apologize to her?" asks Damiano while they preparing for the training.

,,Apologize?! Why?! She was the one who attacked me like a monster infront of everyone! Plus I missed important time in training and we got punished! If so, She should apologize to me!"

„But you were quite hard, who knows how it's going back at her home. She seemed to be hurt."

Aurelio is quite speechless and just sighs before heading to the training ground.

,,I will organize your parings in which you will train with the swords." Like it would have been destined, Aurelio is partnered with Emma.

,,I will kill you! Watch out!" screams Emma before attacking him directly. Aurelio manages to dodge to the left.

,,Alright, you want it this way?! Let's go!". He counters straight after with a big swing and the drill turns into a real duel between the two with everyone watching - again.

Meanwhile Damiano and his partner use the swords like they supposed to but it comes to a break.

„Are you okay?" asks Damiano. „You're looking pale. Should I call someone?". They are far from the ground since the space was limited and it is required for sword training.

,,N-no, I'm o-okay. Just couldn't sleep well." he answers in a shaky voice.

As they try to continue he falls on the ground and seems to be unconscious. Even before Damiano can react and call help, he wakes up and starts to screams and scratch his body everwhere. So hard that he rips off his uniform and even his skin. His eyes turn Red, his body deforms and gets grey. Lanky, slim limbs, a long head. The death stands infromt of Damiano, but to his surprise he doesn't get attacked - It runs away, towards the training ground.

One of the teachers approaches Aurelio and Emma to stop them from their duel.

,,Enough! You two again?! That's it for today! You're going to get punis-." before he could finish his sentence, his head flew off. Blood sprinkling out, no one knows what happened but they scream.

There it stands. The creature of Hell. Right behind the dead body of the teacher. A real Deadeye that lived inside that boy. Aurelio always wanted to be in this exact moment. He wants kill every single Deadeye to free humanity from this prison and to go back home - go back to Earth.

But nothing of this fire that lived inside him is left right now. He is frozen, glued to the ground. He didn't even flinch a bit, scared to death he faces the reality of this danger. Will his dream ever become reality? As that creature took a look at Aurelio, his target was in sight. It runs towards him from about 10 meters and Aurelio still didn't move. As it comes closer and closer he began to realize that we will Die.

In the next moment: A blade sticks through the Deadeyes head. It came from the right and he holder pf this sword was Emma. She saved him from death after all these conflicts they had together, Emma was still determined to save his partners life. As Aurelio turned his head, he saw Emma trying stick out her sword of that liveless body.

,,T-thank you" said Aurelio in a tiny voice. It lasted for about 20 seconds but for him it felt like an eternity.

Emma just looked at him nut didn't say anything, she just left into the changing room. Everyone was perplex. They couldn't process what just happened - not even the teachers. Deadeyes being able to disguise as humans - no one knew about that before. But how exactly it came to that is still unanswered.
