Gantz: A Different Path

"Damn.." I said, a little exasperated. I had just finished reading Gantz, a brutal manga about a bunch of people fighting some aliens.

"This ending is ass." It wasn't necessarily bad, it's just that it was rushed as hell, thus I can't really feel anything good about it.

But never the less, it was a good goddamn manga. Especially for one that it is 23 years old. It was unbearable with the main character at first, but he got character development, shockingly.

Anyway, you might be wondering who this dude yapping his ass off is. Well, the names William, I don't know my last name because I grew up as an Orphan, I suddenly gained consciousness as a child and realized I was alone in the house, I was abandoned.

But enough of that, I'm living a good life right now, I'm attending Highschool, I've got tons of friends, and I'm even talking to one of the girls from one of my class.

Not to mention, I'm an amateur MMA fighter!I've only fought 4 matches so I'm not famous yet, but I'm sure I'll get there someday.

And I must have spoken too soon, cuz I'm seeing a truck with a menacing aura right across the street.

I'm a fucking manga reader, I know what the fuck that means. So I quickly took off, the truck lights suddenly lit up the place as I sprinted with all my might.

My adrenaline must have activated since I'm not feeling a bit tired even if I'm sprinting with full force.

Hah, with this I'm gonna survive the dreaded Truck-Kun. Suck on that you manslaughterer!

And I spoke too soon again, as the next thing I saw I was in a strange looking room with a comfy looking couch in the middle of it.

Without saying anything, I sighed and sat on the couch as a figure materialized from across the room that was also on a chair.

"I take it you've realized what situation you're in already?" The figure looked to be smiling as he spoke to me.

"Yeah, more or less. Since Truck-Kun chose me as a victim I'm gonna be transported to another world." I said with an tinge of excitement present in my tone, as even if I have died, being given a second chance, in another world no less was always a dream I've always wanted fulfilled.

So as much as I don't like the truck for suddenly running me over, I forgive it because it's just doing its job.

"Precisely, and since you already know the drill. I'll waste no more time in sending you there." The figure pointed his palm towards me as my feet were suddenly engulfed in a bright blue light.

I'm being sent huh..? Kinda like from Final Fantasy 10. But I wonder what world I'll be sent to..

"By the way, you'll be sent to Gantz this time around. Good luck surviving there, win some games while you're at it." The figure suddenly dropped a bombshell on me while wearing a smile.

"WHAT?! Gantz?!!! Are you insane?! I'll get killed the second the alien invasion starts!" I immediately panicked as the blue light was close to consuming the entirety of my being.

"Don't worry~ I'll be sending you to that world with a small gift. You'll survive just fine."

"YOU MOTHERFU-" I couldn't complete my sentence as the blue light engulfed my mouth, so I hatefully stared at the figure until my head was also consumed.

The next thing I knew, I was again, stuck staring in the ceiling.

"Fuck.. I'm cooked."

5 days have passed since I've been transported to the world of Gantz.

Ever since arriving here I've been steadily honing my abilities, and even been taking up Kendo as I joined a club in the city.

I've done some research and apparently I have a history in this planet, as the lore says. I'm still named William but this time I have a Japanese last name, which is was "Sugawara" I was an orphan child and my parents allegedly died of a car accident.

I worked as a model and trained in Mixed Martial Arts. That's how I managed to get funds to be able to join the dojo.

It seems that figure from that fancy room tweaked this world to accommodate my arrival, props to him even thought he just threwe here without prior warning except from when I was already getting sent.

Seriously, fuck that guy.

Another sigh escaped my mouth as I took off my Bogu and let my sweat trickle off my face.

Damn it was hot in here.

"Damn William.. you're mega strong.. you broke the wooden sword with just a single swing.." The master of the dojo spoke up as his mouth was wide open.

"Really? I thought this was normal." I said honestly, as far as I can remember, I've always been stronger than the average Joe.

Even in the MMA, my opponents were always knocked out in a single blow, even if it was just a simple jab.

It was always hilarious to see other people's reactions when I blow up the punching bag.

Now that you mention, I probably have some godly genetics. Even as a child, I had an incredible physique. And with just a little bit of exercise I was able to gain an impressive 8 pack.

It's just unfortunate my life was over so quickly, I would have been the Mike Tyson of the MMA, knocking out opponents with one punch.

But anyway enough about that. I went home and entered my apartment in Tokyo, from what I remember. Kurono was the leader of the Tokyo team and considering how it's currently 2001, it's safe to assume I'll be paired up with him I enter the Gantz Room.

But anyways that dude is a fucking liar, what gift? I don't see anything noteworthy of being called a gift around here.

Don't tell me I'm gonna have to survive with just my wits and strong body? Well, considering how I have memories of Canon, I might have a high chance of surviving. But I don't really know.

Heh maybe if I say system it'll appear. But surely not.

Eh fuck it, might as well try.

"System." The words escaped my mouth and I waited a few moments.

"I knew it was a bust." I closed my eyes and sighed once again.

[DING!]

Huh..? No way.. it fucking worked?

A smirk slowly formed on my face as I had just realized. I'm gonna win this

A/N: Decided to create a Gantz fic, I was thinking of creating a Dandadan fanfic first but I got the idea of creating Gantz first since it's pretty interesting so I'll maybe create a Dandadan fic after this. I also decided to change to first person to make it easier for me to write.

Anyway, welcome all. I'm known as the lazy author Leip0t, glad to have you reading my story. I'm gonna let canon pass through for the first few chapters before converging into a different path, since frankly, a lot of characters from Gantz are retarded and I have two choices for them.

1. Change them from having single digit IQ to double digit IQ.

Or

2. Let them die.
