Chapter 12: A new voice.

I go to try out my voice box. "H-w do-s i- w-k?" I might take some time to get this thing functioning 100%.

I try to use my mental magic gland and what happens comes as a surprise for me. I feel the weird structures in my gland begin to activate, converting some weird energy from my core into Mental mana. Focusing the mana I begin to push it out of me across the room.

The parts left in the pool react. I find it almost pleasant to have a connection to the main body of cells again. I've been sitting here all day thinking to myself about what to do next. It seems like we will have to harvest more from ourselves to get any better at this. As I think this I realize my minds have melded into me, thinking from their perspective is kind of trippy to me and almost threw me for a loop. Speaking of the pit monster, maybe I should see if they can combine now. As I do I look over into the pit at them, seeing them combine is crazy to witness. Going from four mushrooms to one big one over half of my size, is interesting to say the least. Let's see if I can harvest my arms and legs so that they can at least be humanoid too. Cell Harvest! As I pull a part of each of my limbs off I realize that my discarded parts might have the same skills I do. I wonder about that maybe when the skill gets better I can reconstitute my pit parts into more of a clone of me. Combine with this, as I toss the parts down at the other me. It seems that when I wasn't connected the mushroom only had a small percentage of my overall intellect. But now it can fully think with me. It is like having two concurrent thoughts streams at the same time. The other mushroom starts combining with the parts I sent down to it but what's weird is that the parts start taking over his body instead of the other way around. Must be due to the level difference or something.

A sudden realization comes from the pit I do in fact have access to the status window still, this must be from the connection getting stronger. I don't believe it to have been working up till this point but it looks like now that I have a Mental network channel up it allows access for my other parts to connect to it. With the mind down in the pit I look at the status window, as well as my main body.

It turns out with the new additions I sent down I'm able to update to about the same status on both ends. It looks like the other me is missing an eye, a voice box, a core, and a gland. That's about the only difference. Maybe I should send an eye down. I should send down an eye while I'm at it. As I use Cell Harvest on myself I notice my status window change back to saying Hyphae eye instead of eyes. Wow this status board really keeps track of a lot. I feel like I'm building a Bionicle toy using my own body.

I drop the eye down into the pit to the other me and he quickly belts out in my mind. 

I CAN SEE AGAIN! (Body Two)

What a dramatic part of me, haha. Also I have a level up for Cell Absorption. Hey! Other me try using regenerative growth, I want to see if it lets you regrow your parts faster. Almost autonomously the pit monster grows his limbs back to what I can presume to be nearly 80% of what I am. Well I guess we can just split the difference now. I use Cell Harvest for another go but this is definitely my limit. I pull off a large chunk of my main body and toss it down to myself. There, now we are the same size. I use regenerative growth on both sides to grow back to my original size.
