Saving Zed

*Time skip 1 year*

Percy has been traveling with Garp for about a year now and has been through hell. Even though he learned the basics of busoshoku (armament) and kenbunshoku (color of observation) haki, he has yet to touch haoshoku haki (color of the supreme king).

[Maybe that is to be expected] Percy thought to himself as he was sailing back to Marineford.

Garp was plenty busy chasing Rogers and had very little time educating Percy about the basics about haki; remember now, technically Percy is still an ensign. Garp was satisfied with Percy's initial training so he suggested that he be sent back to Marineford and to self study for a couple months so that Garp can focus and finally catch Rogers.

[Fat chance] Percy laughed to himself as he set foot onto headquarters after a year on Garp's ship. [I guess I need to talk to Zed, it's about time that his wife and child are about to be killed.]

As Percy was about to report to his commanders, he was stopped by a familiar face.

"GAHAHAHAHA, You're grown up now Percy my boy" Sengoku said next to him slapping him on the back. "How tall are you now?"

"Sir I just reached 9'6" Percy replied grimacing at the sheer force Sengoku put behind his pat. He was strong alright.

"Garp kicked you off his ship did he?" Sengoku asked looking meaningfully at Percy.

"Yesser he did. Garp told me that my haki is sufficient enough to hurt logia users so I don't need to bother him any more."

"GAHAHAHAHA, good good. I'll take you to your promotion exam. I wonder where you will place?" Sengoku asked while staring away from Percy as someone else approached the two talking.

"That can wait" the person said while looking at Percy. "Are you ensign Percy Arius?"

"Yes I am?" Percy said as he saw the newcomer, he never saw this person before.

"I am rear admiral Irik and I got an urgent message from admiral Zed. He wants you to call him immediately."

Percy nodded and he took out his den den mushi, *peroperopero peroperopero peroperopero the sound kept on going on and on and finally it connected

*katcha "hello Percy"

"Zed?"

"Yea I need you to head to where my family is quickly, your the only one I know that's able to travel there quick enough, it's about 4 hours travel by boat from headquarters due east. I heard pirates are thinking of raiding my home. "

Percy paused for a moment before responding,

"Zed, I don't think I'm strong enough to get there immediately right now, how far away from there are the pirates??

"How far can your powers reach right now?"

"About a small island right now I said as I quickly boarded on the nearest ship that was headed east."

"And your observation haki?"

Percy grimaced. "Only 5 meters right now."

There was a brief pause before Zed replied

"The pirates are called the Manuat pirates and they are notorious for pillaging and slaughtering marine bases. They will be at the base about half and hour before you get there, if there anything you can do to speed up the process?"

Percy thought about it his darkness did cover a lot of area and it was powerful, it could allow him to travel a great distance, as long as it was dark, he could potentially travel wherever he wanted to go. The problem was it was the middle of the day and he was on a boat. The sea made it virtually impossible to do dark travel because of the salt water.

[When I see land I could summon darkness from the sky and on the land and then travel from there, it will be risky and I will destroy a lot of property, I will need to consider with Zed first].

Percy proposed his plan to Zed and there was silence. He thought there was a loss connection and just when Percy was about to call his teacher again, Zed responded to his student,

"Do it, as long as my wife and son is safe then I don't care about the property and the island. I'll Let my wife know to hide somewhere safe so that the darkness doesn't touch them."

Percy agreed with Zed, "Teacher, this attack I will make, won't be pretty, let her know that because it's going to be out of desperation, I won't be able to make an accurate attack therefore; don't come out until you arrive."

"Alright" Zed said as the plan was formed.

"How strong are these assholes?" Percy asked as they were still traveling to Zed's home.

"Not much," Zed responded. "These little shits are only worth about 100 million belli and that is because they are known more for destruction than strength. That said, their captain does have a devil fruit. He ate the paramecia fruit roll-roll fruit causing hands to turn into wheels."

"Useless." I said to Zed. "My fruit is the strongest against fruit users, that is why I always struggle against you and Garp. When I fight their captain, I'll make sure to kill him, unless you want me to keep him alive?"

There was a pause before Percy heard a snarl on the other side of the den den mushi,

"NO! you kill him Percy! You Hear Me! KILL THEM ALL!!!!"

The entire ship shook under Zed's anger and the marine's shivered under the admiral's pressure. Percy stood there staring at the transponder and replied calmly

"Yes sir" and hung up.

Three hours later and Percy could see the island where Zed's family was living in the distance and he could hear the start of the battle. He took a deep breath because he never used his power over such a distance before.

Percy picked a remote location on the beach, hoping that no one was there. If this failed that a lot of people on the island were going to die, regardless if he traveled to the island or not. Percy narrowed his eyes and shouted

"Kuroi sora ga oriru" (black sky descends)

A dark pillar of smoke fell from the sky and blanketed the island and many of the marines and pirates were confused at first. Then, both sides started to scream when they heard crunching sounds next to them. They turned to see they comrades, people who they fought alongside for decades being sucked into the darkness and being crushed into darkness.

Percy at sweat dropping from his face as he was concentrating, he needed to finish the second part of his plan, but the sea water was getting in the way. He collected himself and shouted internally

[kurai ryoko] and instantly appeared in the middle of the town. He looked around and was aghast, there was destruction everywhere. He knew he probably caused most of it because of his powers, marines and pirates were crushed into pieces, but he got his orders and that's that.

Percy looked at the pirates and smiled.

[black hole] he started to absorb every pirate in his vicinity into the darkness and when he was satisfied, he crushed them. When he could not take it anymore, he shouted out loud

"Liberation" and forced all the dead pirates out of his darkness.

"There's another asshole!" someone said as other pirates turned the corner sprinting at Percy.

Percy looked at the 20 pirates as if they were already dead, his time with Garp has already insensitive him regarding death.

"okotte" (turn mad). Percy murmured at the pirates as they fell to the floor writhing. This was a new technique that he discovered on his trip with Garp. He could exploit now only the darkness within himself and his surroundings, but the darkness in people. Percy now could bring out the darkness within people and turn people against one another or turn them insane.

He turned away as he noticed that the only person his new skill did not work against was a man with a brown jacket on with a scared look on his face. He stared at Percy and shouted at his screamed

"What did you do to my crew??!!"

"Only what you did to others?" Percy said as he smugly stared back at what he assumed to be the captain of the Manuat pirates.

The captain gritted his teeth and glared daggers at Percy. He transformed his feet into wheel and unleashed his backpack which now had cannons and swords on it. The captain started to laugh and said to Percy,

"I'm a devil fruit user too. Don't look down on me! After I kill you and this town I'll head to the New world and become famous just like those over there."

The captain (who not even worth mentioning his name) started to rush towards Percy firing his cannons and swiping his swords at Percy while laughing.

Percy just stood there and stretched out his hand with a blank look on his face, the captain started to feel his body being attracted to the outstretched hand and then all of the sudden he was pulled to it. When the captain touched it, he noticed that he had no more devil fruit powers and he no strength left in his body. Percy stared at him, smiled at thrusted a finger into his heart.

The pirate captain of the Manuat pirates died on the spot. Percy stared into the air thinking to himself.

[Even though I know I saved Zed from a lifelong time of misery, this was anti-climatic as hell]

He picked up his den den mushi and started to call his teacher,

"Zed, it's done; they're all dead." Percy said as he was killing the pirates who were still writhing in pain from their self loathing.

"Thank you, thank you" Zed said as Percy could hear genuine happiness coming from his teacher's voice. "I will be there in 3 hours. Have the men on the ship start cleaning up the place. I don't want my wife and son to see what happened here."

"I agree" Percy said as he was observing what he did to Zed's home, "I kinda destroyed this island"

"ZAZAZAZAZA as long as my family is alive, all is forgiven" is teacher said as he hung up.

[It's going to be a long night] Percy said as he started to relay orders to the ship that was still off the coast.
