DUSTTALE: Revisioned
In this version of Dusttale, Sans is not completely just a merciless killer seeking revenge against the human. He is completely haunted by guilt and regret over his actions, but feels powerless to change his path. As he continues to hunt down the human, he struggles with the knowledge that he is becoming more like the monsters he despises.
Through flashbacks and internal monologues, this revised Dusttale will reveal that Sans was once a pacifist who believed in the power of mercy and kindness. However, when the human entered the underground and began killing his friends, Sans's worldview was shattered. He became consumed with rage and hatred, leading him down a path of violence and vengeance.
As he confronts the human while he does his own genocide, Sans's internal conflict becomes more pronounced. On one hand, he knows that killing the human will not bring his friends back or erase the pain he feels. On the other hand, he feels that he has no other choice but to continue down this path, as his actions have already caused so much harm and this is the least he could do to free everyone from the loop.
