Falling in love with a demon

Clashing of swords were heard in the background, the intense heat was becoming to much for Lina, she tried her best to defend the attack from her elder brother but he was not giving her the opportunity to do so, finally her brother threw her sword out of her hand using his sword, she paused, looked at her brother and tried to pick up her sword but her brother pointed the tip of his sword at her neck.

”give up, no hope” her brother’s voice echoed, Lina looked at him and raised her hand in defeat. Dropping their swords they both walked up to their father.

Their father, king Edmond was standing at the exist of the training ground, he was silent all throughout the match between his children, he only watched and observed.

“Lina, you tried unlike before but you still need to work on your defense and a little more on your attacks” Edmond paused and continued “Ezra nice one love your skills, keep it up! Do not relent about it” Edmond added “thanks your majesty” Lina and Ezra greeted simultaneously before leaving to return their swords.

“Nice one baby sis” Eva; Lina’s elder sister complimented don’t try to make me feel nice I did horrible “ “come on Lina you tried” Eva stressed “I know I didn’t perform well” Lina continued “ she is right, don’t try to pacify her” Ezra said mockingly

”Ezra you are making her feel bad” Eva thundered “well she needs to stop being a mommy’s pet and train hard to become better” Ezra added “sometimes I wonder if you are really our brother” Eva said in doubt

“enough!” Ezekiel, the first born of the royal family and the crown prince spoke. His voice sounds just like Edmond’s, power emitting from the sound of their voice. Silence reigned.

“Your majesty, a message from lord Philip” the general commander of the royal army spoke. Edmond took the letter, opened it and read it. While he was reading it his expression changed, the lines of his forehead creased “I need to see the council now!” Edmond thundered “yes your majesty” the general replied and left. “Kid’s training is over, go to your rooms and rest” their father ordered and they left.

Arriving her room, she quickly rang the bell for her maids to deliver, she sat on the sofa close to her window. The window had a beautiful view of the warriors training ground, she watched them fight and tried learning new skills from them.

”princess Lina you sent for us” her maids said jolting her back to reality “sorry that we scared you my princess” her maids apologized, breathing in and out she found her voice to speak “Hazel, Ruth please prepare a warm bath for me” Lina said “yes my princess” they both replied simultaneously.

Lina relaxed in the water as her maids helped in bathing her, her body ached due to the training she had earlier, suddenly she remembered the conversation her father had with the general.

”who is lord Philip?” Lina asked “he is the demons’ lord or rather the emperor” Ruth replied “why do you ask my princess?” Hazel asked “he sent a message to the king” Lina replied “oh my goodness! Whatever it is it is not good” Ruth panicked “there is a lot I don’t know about the demons” Lina paused “all I know is that witches and fairies are at the mercy of the demons because of their large number and because of their immortal named Peres” Lina added “they also have a very wicked prince named Lyle” Hazel spoke “you know what? Finish this bath quickly, I want to do something” Lina ordered and they ended the bath. Lina was dressed in a pink gown, her long hair was packed in a ponytail.

Lina walked along the corridor, she stopped at the throne room when she heard her father’s voice “what should be done now that we know what lord Philip’s plan is?” She heard her father’s voice speak “your majesty, you know it is foolish for us to accept war, they are definitely going to win, you know that witches do not have a strong army neither do we have an immortal” another voice echoed “I will postpone this meeting, when I have a word with the general I will communicate to you what our next action would be” her father spoke “and one more thing, no one, I mean no one is to reveal this to any of our people, let it remain with us, I don’t want fear among my people” Edmond said.

Lina placed her ear on the door and heard everything they said, she was lost in their conversation, then she heard someone clear her throat, she jolted and realized it was her mother.

”eavesdropping?” Queen Esther asked her arms folded at her chest, all she needed was answers “no mom I was actually going to meet Eva” “you are now a lair right?” “No no mom it is just that I overheard them talk about war and it caught my interest” her mother didn’t look surprised at the mention of war, she only stared at her ‘mom please say something’ Lina pleaded inwardly “leave!” Her mother ordered “thanks mom” Lina appreciated before running to Eva’s room

She opened the door slowly as she entered “can I come in?” Lina asked “of course yes” Eva replied. Eva was sitting down of the sofa close to her window, she had a fantastic view of the witch city “nice view” Lina complimented “thanks I love looking at my people they are amazing” said Eva “I need to know more about the demons” Lina said

“okay, the demons are a group of very manipulative people, they are the smartest of all people and that is why they are successful, as you know witches, demons, and fairies occupy the southern part of the world and the humans have the rest, they are unaware that we do exist” Eva suddenly stopped to look at her sister “why are the witches and fairies at war with the demons?”

“According to history, long ago we all lived in peace, no wars, no territories, we all had a cordial relationship with each other but a time came when demons wanted more power, they wanted to rule, they started a war against the witches and fairies, they never lost because they were strong and because they had an immortal named Peres, as you know we live at their mercy” Eva said

”I heard dad say that lord Philip declared a war” Lina said “impossible” Eva was momentarily shocked “possible” Ezekiel spoke as he entered inside with Ezra “I was at the meeting” Ezekiel added “and what she said is true” he said sitting
