Chapter One

A young woman in a suede dress with brown hills stands before her father Chu Yuche who wants to give her birthright to a sister she had never seen.

"I can never be alive and watch you give out my right of becoming the next CEO of the Chu's to another person. Over my dead body father." Jing Xi fumed, and she hit her hands on the table separating her and her father.

Meanwhile, Chu Yuche just sat and watched his dramatic daughter with no emotions on his face. He had been forced to marry her mother and there was no love between them. Instead of being sad in a loveless marriage he married another woman without his first wife's knowledge. Now she was dead, he thought it was better to reveal his other family to his daughter and make Feng Yichen the CEO of his company.

"Do not say 'another person', young lady. The person in question is your sister, so I see nothing wrong with it," said Chu Yehe. He still did not care about Jing Xi's feelings on the matter. All he wanted was for the daughter he loved and appreciated to take over after him.

Jing Xi looked at him like he was mad. "After all the sacrifices I made for the success of the company, how could you even say that to me? I made the company into what it is today, father, so I disagree with your decision. I won't take it."

She walked away from her father, her heart hurting from so much pain. Jing Xi had just caught her fiance of 2 years cheating with her best friend. She had yet to heal and now fate wanted to bring another trauma for her, but she would do all it takes to get what rightfully belongs to her.

Jing Xi goes through her mother's possession, her hands rubbing over the picture she had taken after she had given birth to her. She had asked her mother why she had taken a picture right after her labor and she replied with a smile, "I want to forever remember the feeling of joy on my face the very moment I had set my eyes on you."

She had felt tears streaming down her face after her mother said that to her, and she had done her best in seeing she was great in life.

But fate was cruel enough to snatch her away, leaving her alone with her father who had never shown her any love. She had learnt Chu's business at the age of 11 because she was so smart and it was her mother's request even though she wanted a life in the entertainment industry.

There was a time when the company would have slack if not for Jing Xi making a huge presentation to the first ranking company in Beijing. She had stayed awake for three consecutive days just to make everything ready for her grand presentation. Not only did she get the contract, but her father's company got more than that. The Chu's company got the contract with 50 million as a reward for their excellent performance.

She had to do everything herself again after the contract had been signed because her father had fallen sick due to too much thinking on how to get their business to stand again.

Now with all her efforts and their company ranking third in the whole country A, her father wants to rip her off her right.

Jing Xi's phone started to ring and she placed her mother's picture back on the wall before walking towards her bed.

She looked at the caller ID and smiled. It was Xin Yinrou, her best friend, who was calling her. She Immediately picked it up placed her phone on her right ear.

"Hi, Jing Xi." Xin Yinrou said happily from the other end. "I called to remind you of my bridal shower tonight night. How is your father doing?"

Jing Xi sighed. "See you, do you need to remind me? Don't forget that it can't hold without my presence. Someone needs to teach you a lot of things before you go to your husband. Remember that."

Xin Yinrou burst out laughing, she gave a little cough before she continued. "Silly girl, I know you have spoiled. At least having you there means it's a sure thing of my having a blissful marriage. All those romantic affairs you have been having and your constant reading of romance novels."

Jing Xi rolled her eyes. "It's a pity that you are not here else I would have practiced it with you."

Xin Yinrou felt repulsive, she knew she was joking but the line of thought alone caused her to have a runny stomach. "Stop saying nonsense Jing Xi else I will tell my groom that you are so bent on corrupting me."

"Sure, you go ahead. Let's see how it plays out for you," Jing Xi teased. She knew how her friend hated her line of thought, yet she liked to use it on her.

"Wait till you find your own missing rib, I will be the very person who would tell him of your lifestyle."

Jing Xi stuck out her tongue, even though she knew that bdje couldn't see her. "Let's wait till then babe. I have been thinking of what to wear to your party Xin Yinrou."

Xin Yinrou snorted. "After all the time I gave you, why didn't you prepare?"

Pouting her lips Jing Xi said, "That's not the case, I have been busy with some stuff lately. Bye now, I better prepare."

"Silly girl." Xin Yinrou mouthed, as she hung up the call.

Jing Xi smiled.

She couldn't wait to attend her best friend's bridal shower. After then she will give herself full attention and make sure no one tramples on her feet.
