Reincarnating

"We're here, miss," the driver called.

I nodded in reply as I opened the door. I swung my school bag over my shoulder and began walking towards the school entrance. I ignored all the stares of admiration and jealousy and made my way up to my classroom.

I raised my leg and kicked open the door, getting everyone's attention. The classroom was silent; no sounds were heard except for the clicking of my heels. I dropped my bag next to my desk and plopped down in my seat with a sigh.

The window next to my desk opened up and a boy with red hair swopped in, landing on my desk. I scowled and pushed him off my desk.

"Can't you go through the door like a normal person?"

"And miss seeing you? Never," he mocked.

I rolled my eyes and looked out the open window. The wind picked up and sent papers flying everywhere, whistles and shrieks in the air. My platinum blonde hair flew behind me as I reached to close the window.

"Thank you, Lilith!" a girl cried, bending down to pick up some papers.

I ignored her began combing my hair with my fingers. I knew they weren't grateful at all. The only reason why anyone would get close to me was for money. I was from a rich family. Highlight, underline, and italicize was. I left them this morning. This would be my last day here.

I groaned in frustration as the noise in the classroom started getting louder. I grabbed my headphones out of my bag and put them on. I let out a tiny sigh as my Kpop songs started playing.

What? I'm a fan of Kpop. Don't judge.

"Good morning, Class. I'm here to inform you that you all died," the teacher called.

The class quieted down at his words before laughing.

"That's impossible!"

"We're still all here!"

But some people actually believed the "teacher".

"You mind taking off the disguise, God?" I called, gaining many weird stares.

"God? Don't be ridiculous," the redhead scoffed.

"Welp. Looks like the gigs up," the "teacher" said.

Our old teacher morphed into a younger-looking boy, maybe in his early 20s. His green hair was swept back, his eyes had a mischievous look in them, and he gave us a cocky grin.

"Can't believe you all died in a tornado! It was hilarious," he laughed.

Whispers started rising up as they realized that what he said was the truth. We were all dead.

"But you," he said, turning to me. "I'm surprised you were so calm."

I shrugged. "The teach always tells me to take off my headphones and comes into the room either yelling or crying. You didn't."

"I see," he mused. "Oh, well. You all have a chance at reincarnating or-"

"Reincarnate please!" the class yelled.

I rolled my eyes. Do I even get a say in this?

"Alrighty! Bye-bye!" With a wave of his hand, everyone but me disappeared. "All done!"

I cleared my throat and he turned around to look at me, horrified.

"Why didn't you go?" he wailed, falling on his knees crying anime tears.

"Didn't wanna. There was another option. What was it?" I crouched down to his level.

"Austrin, are you done?" a girl called, walking over to us.

"No, your ma- Ruby. There's still one left," he cried.

"I'll take care of it. You go enjoy your break," she patted his bag.

He shot up with a smile on his face, saluted, and ran off. She sighed and shook her head, a smile on her face. I raised an eyebrow.

"Gods have breaks?"

"Sometimes, once a week," she admitted.

...How does the world keep working?

"Anyways, your other choice was to reincarnate in a place of your choice and we'll provide everything you need to live there," she explained.

"FairyTail," I blurted. I covered my mouth. I can't believe I just said that without thinking.

Don't get me wrong. It would be a dream come true if I could live in my favorite anime. At least I wouldn't be forced to attend etiquette lessons and be whipped if I got it wrong.

She only chuckled and pulled out a tablet. "Any magic preferences?"

I looked over her shoulder and looked through the entire catalog, but none of them caught my eye. I sighed and shook my head.

"It's fine. We can make one if you'd like," she offered.

"Could I at least have the basics of Requip and teleportation? Oh! Also how to expand my mana container and how to train?" I rambled.

Shut up me! You're asking a lot from a god. A God!

"Yeah, that's fine. You'll have to learn it yourself though," she said, typing on her tablet. "Anything else?"

"Maybe some money, house, food?"

"How about magic?"

I sighed. I couldn't think of anything but they all looked so good.

"...alright! All set!" she cheered.

I snapped out of my trance and looked at her confused.

"I'm done. I'm going to send you there when you're about... 5. Okay?" she waved her hand and a really suspicious portal appeared.

I blinked before bursting out in laughter. "Okay. Nice working with you, Princess Ruby."

She looked at me in surprise and watched as I entered the portal. She waved and smiled. My eyes widened in surprise. A genuine smile...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been a couple of days since I arrived in Fiore and I learned a couple of things.

1. Requip and Teleportation was easier than I thought

2. She gave me books on all the magic available in the catalog...

3. The house... was a mansion.

UGH! HOW IS A 5-YEAR-OLD SUPPOSED TO LIVE IN A MANSION?

Funny thing was, it was right behind FairyTail and it doesn't look like they noticed me or my explosions yet. Yeah, doing two different elements was kinda harder than I thought.

Ruby was really nice though. She gave me enough food to last about 5 months and enough money to buy out Magnolia. Okay, maybe too nice. Welp, back to reading.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My stomach grumbled, disturbing my concentration. Ignoring the loud rumblings from my stomach, I focused on my hands. A flame danced in one hand and a snowflake appeared in the other. I clenched my fists in excitement.

"Woohoo!" I cheered.

I was training on fire and ice first because the book recommended that I started with them. It also stated that learning other opposite elements would be easier in the future. The grumbling from my stomach snapped me out of my excitement as I quickly ran downstairs to my food cupboard.

Nothing.

Dang it. It's already been 5 months and I forgot to stock up on food. There was only one option left when I was this hungry...

I ran over to my door and tiptoed to reach up for the door handle. I peeked out the door before running to the FairyTail kitchen entrance. My hair floated behind me as I ran down the hill, following the smell of food.

I cautiously opened the door and looked left and right. I saw a tiny basket of food on the floor right in front of me with a note.

Next time go through the front entrance, won't cha?

I felt my cheeks flush up. I guess I wasn't careful enough. I grabbed the basket and ran back to the house, jumping at the doorknob to lock it. I opened the basket and saw bread, fruit, and even fruit juice. I pulled out a single piece of bread, requipped the basket, and nibbled on my food.

I sighed. I should really learn air magic. I can't stand jumping for the doorknob every time I need something.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple more months passed and I think I got the hang of all the elements. I just... don't know how to use them in fights.

The nice person keeps leaving me baskets of food at my door now. I guess FairyTail knows I live here now, or at least, the guild master does.

It might be time I join FairyTail. I do owe them one Fairy Hills... hehe. Oops?

I walked down the hill and went around the building, stopping right in front of the entrance.

Gosh, this is scary. I might be mentally 16 but I'm only 5!

I took a deep breath and kicked the door open. Everyone was looking at me.

"Oops," I muttered. Bad habits. I still try to kick open every door. It's a habit.

"Watch out!" a girl with blue hair yelled.

"Huh?"

Without any warning, a table, half-burnt and half-iced came flying at me. I shrieked, put my hands in front of me, and shouted the first thing that came to my mind.

"Flaming Ice Shield!"

The table was destroyed in an instant as I crouched behind the Ice Fire shield, closing my eyes.

"Cool!" a salmon-haired boy cried, running up to me. "Fight me!"

I looked at him and I couldn't stop the tears from coming out. I hiccuped as tears started flowing.

"Look what you did, flame brain! You made a girl cry!" the raven head yelled.

"Not my fault, stripper!"

"Gray, clothes!" a girl in the back yelled.

The raven head yelped and ran around looking for his clothes. I managed to stop the tears, but not the hiccups. A tiny person came up to me.

"You wanna join FairyTail or you came in the front door for food this time?" he chuckled.

My eyes widened as I hiccuped. I requipped the empty basket and handed it back to him, the dishes all cleaned.

"I... wanna... join," I said, between hiccups.

A short girl with white hair came over with the stamp in hand and introduced herself as Lisanna.

"Where do you want it?"

I took off my jacket and lifted my hair to the side.

"L-left side please," I whispered. My voice was kinda hoarse from all the crying and hiccuping.

She stamped it and a cool feeling appeared on my back. I tried to look at it but failed. Seeing my pout, Lisanna told me what color she stamped it in.

"Ice blue. It seemed to fit," she said, holding out her hand.

I took her hand curiously and she yanked me back onto my feet.

"What kind of magic do you use?" Lisanna asked.

"Yeah, yeah! You said 'Flaming Ice Shield' earlier. It was so cool!" the blue-haired girl squealed. "Oh, I'm Levy McGarden. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

I almost curtsied to her, like how I was taught in my previous life, but I stopped in time. I let out a sigh in relief.

"I can use all the elements," I whispered.

"What?"

The whole guild quieted down and leaned in to hear me talk.

"I can use all the elements," I repeated, still in the quiet tone.

They looked confused. I pouted and took in a deep breath.

"I CAN USE ALL THE ELEMENTS!" I shouted as loud as I could, scaring the "flame brain" and "stripper".

I clamped a hand over my mouth. Maybe a little bit too loud...

"What? How? Don't they contradict each other?" Levy asked.

"I can keep them balanced out, but I don't know..."

"Know what?" Lisanna said.

"How to use them in fights or for self-protection," I finished.

The guild was quiet before Levy spoke up again.

"Didn't you just use a move though?"

I blushed and muttered something under my breath.

"It's the only thing I know how to do," the salmon-haired boy repeated.

I looked at him in shock. He gave me a toothy grin. "I'm Natsu!"

"I'm-" I was cut off by the sound of my stomach grumbling and my face was a deeper shade of red.

"Hungry, I see," the master chuckled.

I only nodded and followed him as he made his way to the kitchen. He stopped me at the entrance. He pointed towards the bar seat.

"Wait for me over there."

I walked over to the bar seat and sat on it.

Correction. Tried to.

I tried jumping and climbing on it, but it was a bit too tall. I heard snickers from the two boys behind me. My lip quivered.

No. Don't cry. No... No...

I let out a cry, scaring everyone again. Teleportation.

"Why didn't I think of it earlier?!"

"Hey. Are flame brain and stripper done fighting?" a voice shouted from upstairs, startling me.

His voice interrupted my concentration and next thing you know, I ended up on top of him. I quickly scrambled off of him and bowed.

"Oi, Laxus! Don't scare her!" Levy called.

Laxus? Oh my god. Don't tell me I teleported right on top of Makarov's grandson, the second generation lightning slayer, Laxus Dreyer?!

"I-I'm sorry, Laxi-nii."

The guild went quiet and I clamped a hand over my mouth. Laxus looked at me and burst out laughing. He ruffled my hair and got himself off the floor.

"I like you, kiddo," he chuckled.

I blushed at my mistake. Wrong timing to bite my tongue.

"You want your food?" master called from downstairs.

My eyes lit up as I scrambled down the stairs. I skidded to a stop in front of the bar stool. And... back to my height problem. Master hopped up onto the bar table and was about to pull me up when I teleported right onto the bar stool.

I took the piece of bread off the plate and started eating it like it was the last food I would have in a long time. I stared at the rest of the plate.

"C-could I take the rest in the basket?" I asked.

He looked at the plate and back at me. "Don't you want to eat more, child?"

Laxus hopped over the railing and climbed up onto the stool next to me. He took one look at the plate and frowned.

"Eat more."

"B-but..."

"No buts."

I started at the plate and requipped it. I hopped off the stool and landed on my butt. I got back up and dusted myself off. I ran towards the kitchen entrance, the others following me. I kept on going until I reached the house entrance.

I jumped up to reach for the handle, but a hand behind me opened the door. I looked up and saw Laxus.

"Laxi-nii?"

"I just wanted to see your house," he grumbled, a tint of pink dust on his cheeks.

A smile broke onto my face as I invited the kids in. You know, maybe this life of mine isn't so bad.
