Chapter 19

The burning house in the distance showed itself to Enkidu as his instincts told him everything was wrong. Everyone was surrounding something until Enkidu arrived, one of the people saw him and told him what was going on.

"Oh beautiful one of green. We caught the beauty Yu drinking blood! She must be one of those detestable creatures that we heard of!"

Another person joined in.

"Yeah we're to burn her and kill her with a stake!" Enkidu's presence detection told him that she was afraid and wounded while other humans were also in there. A difficult decision plagued him.

"Save her and possibly forsake the humans whom he's been with for ages."

"Stand by and do nothing and let her die for the sake of humans."

"What would Gil do?"

Enkidu shook his head before his question was answered "Gil would fight against the gods themselves for me. He would do anything to help me therefore I shall do the same for someone I consider a friend."

Enkidu swept his hands as chains appeared and restrained the people. He ran into the burning building as he found her about to die. Blood poured out as she simply remained there thinking "Dying isn't too bad." she let out a raspy breath as she remembered how it started.

She was in the house as she had been in a near death situation once again. However she did't want to drink the blood of a human so she decided to use a sheep instead. Unknown to her, someone had seen through the window of her drinking blood. They thought it was human blood and she was not human. They gathered outside her house before knocking.

She opened the door only to find pitchforks and spears stuck into her as they started burning the place down. She was weak and had no way of getting help. Betrayed by the humans she had grown to trust. Humans are so easily susceptible to lies all it takes is a bit of a white lie and a twist of truth and they turn on you.

"Wish I could have told him my feelings."

Her ears perked as she heard people yelling and shouting "It seems it's my end." The blazing of the fire was already creeping up to her limbless body while the fire cackled in madness as it licked the walls of the house. The door crashed open as a familiar green sight entered her eyes. Enkidu quickly knelt down and tried to heal her she simply told him the cold hard truth. Enkidu looked at the sorry sight, a giant stake was in her abdomen while her limbs were cut off and slowly being cauterised while a stake had missed her heart by just a bit but the blood loss was too much.

"It's too late for me. Just leave, they now know you're not human either."

Enkidu gritted his teeth as he opened the shop on trying to find a way to save her. A specific item? caught his eye.

[Sherlock's Hint]

[Shows the most optimal outcome on your situation.]

[One use item.]

[3,000 EP]

Enkidu purchased it without a thought as Gil would empty his treasury for him. He immediately used it only to find despair before solace.

Enkidu was shown the most optimal outcome for a dying friend. He would have to summon her as a servant rather than save her as it was already too late. None of the healing items that could heal her were in his price range. Therefore the optimal outcome was to summon her as a servant and preserve her memory in a memory marble.

Enkidu told her what would happen as she agreed with a smile. Her memories were copied and stored on a tiny white marble which cost him another 3,000 EP.

[Balance: 34,000 EP]

Enkidu simply took one of her earrings while he sat down and watched her breathe her last breaths while taking in that he was once again alone. He chuckled as it slowly became full blown laughter.

"So this is what Gil felt. When the one of the only people who understands you dies in front of you and you're powerless. This is what HE felt."

A voice came from his bracelet while Romani came at a bad time.

~Hey how's your friend/companion?~

"She's dead." Romani shut up as he simply delivered the news

~I see. Well good news is you're being rayshifted back as Fujimaru finished even faster when we told him that you were stuck in an alternate timeline.~

Enkidu nodded as he slowly faded away back to Chaldea. The earring was kept tightly in his clutches as he stored it away in his own hand.

After the Hundred Years War singularity Enkidu and Fujimaru completed the second where they had to help the Emperor of Rome, Nero Claudius. Then they had to complete the third singularity, Okeanos, Enkidu personally did not like that singularity as he practically did not do anything. The 4th singularity in London was completed with much difficulty from Fujimaru who had to get Enkidu to carry the whole team.

The fifth and the sixth were completed with much difficulty as Enkidu sat out on those ones. He had some things he had to do. Enkidu stared at the shop as he thought about the things he needed. If only he could see things coming before they happened. I don't need to be like Gil, I don't need to be like Solomon nor do I need to be like Merlin.

I only need to see enough to protect those I hold dear. The shop responded to his desires and offered him something that would suit his needs and within his budget.

[Precognition] [C]

[Passive]

[Allows you to see into the future for 2 seconds]

[Rank can be raised with experience]

[25,000 EP] (Price as is due to the skill being upgradable and almost being overpowered it maxed.)

Enkidu bought it without hesitation as his new balance shrunk again.

Enkidu sighed as he walked over to the cafeteria. His eyes were now constantly glowing bright as the skill was passive. Most of the servants looked at him while he walked over to Emiya.

"I'd like the best set of tempura you can make." Emiya nodded and turned around. Enkidu's precognition activated as he saw the cup on the table falling. Every servant who had their eyes on him were surprised as he caught the cup as if he knew it was going to happen.

Iskandar looked at him and whispered to Atalanta "The mystery behind the green one deepens."

Every servant at the table shook their heads as they all knew that Iskandar was a big dolt.

Enkidu munched away while thinking about the next singularity. No more excuses he would have to see it to the end.
