Chapter 17

The next weeks passed in a flash, Allen couldn't contain his excitement, and while Ms Sarah was worried about him, she was also glad that he could find a school that would accept him, since most of the time he looked bored from all of it, but now seeing him so overjoyed by the prospect of attending school was like a miracle in front of her eyes.

While he couldn't practice magic using his wand, he continued to practice without it, it helped him calm down his nerves, he continued to do the usual practice of physical enhancement, then the use of elements, he read over all the books, while they were study books, for him they were almost like fiction, which he used to read a lot in his previous life, he devoured them in no time, then read over the ones who he liked the most.

The Standard Book of Spells, A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration, The Dark Forces: A guide to Self-Protection and Wandlore, everything you need to know about your wand and their companion: 34th edition.

While the latter one sounded fishy, it had solid advice on how to treat your wand and how the wand would answer in kind, how to clean it, and even what to do if the wand got stolen from you.

All in all, the book tittle didn't do justice to the information inside, which he was glad for, since that got him the book for free.

Finally, the day came, and it was time for him to go to Hogwarts, Ms Sarah wanted to accompany him, but he refused, saying that it would be better for him to get used to it, since she could get busy other times.

She agreed, but not without asking Allen to call him or to send him a letter after arriving.

"A letter it is then" He thought, since there were no telephone lines in Hogwarts.

He took the public transport to reach the train station. Allen looked around, trying to find anything different or out of place.

After the sudden revelation that his eyes change color when he uses magic or is ready to use it, he decided to stay like that most of the time, to at least get used to it, of course, if he spent a lot of time with his magic activated, the headache would come back, but after practicing for the last couple of weeks, it wasn't as difficult as the first time he tried it.

Allen managed to find a couple wizards, that's another thing he realized, what he can see is magic, and who posses magic, each and every one of them has a different color and size, but they all have a light insides of them.

He followed some that looked completely lost in terms of muggle fashion until they reached the platform nine and ten. Silently thanking them in his mind.

The wall shone as well, a dim light, as if it was trying to hide from others.

"It makes sense, since it's almost a door to the magical world, they need to be really careful with it I guess" Allen thought.

Checking the clock he realized that there was still time for him before the train departed but decided to cross the wall and get an empty seat.

"Okay, you can do it" He muttered to himself as he ran as fast as he could towards the wall.

After crossing it the lights inside of everyone and even from the objects around blinded him.

"Ugh" He complained, covering his eyes with his arm while closing them just enough that he could still see in front of him.

Allen stood still, waiting for his eyes to get used to this sensation. He let his magic in a half active state, the shine in his eyes left him and he could see better now.

While he could still see the lights inside of all the wizards around him, it wasn't to the point that it blinded him, and he needed to get used to it in any case, since Hogwarts would be ten times worse.

He continued to walk towards the train after getting better and he could see all kinds of wizards around, some who definitely didn't know anything about muggle fashion, others, who most likely were muggleborns, like him, and the others, who wore their robes in the middle of London, as if it were the most normal thing. He just hopped that they didn't arrive at the station wearing them.

Inside the train Allen could see a lot of kids and if he focused a bit, their light would shine, but it was smaller than the average adult wizard, was that because they are kids and don't have a lot of magic, or is it because of another reason?

As he pondered about this he reached an empty compartment and made himself comfortable, putting the trunk on top of the seat and taking out The Standard Book of Spells, with his wand.

While he already knew all the spells in the book, he still needed to remember their use and the way you need to move your wand.

It was a surprise when he read Magical Theory and found out that what he did through all of the years from five to eleven was accidental magic.

And his theory was confirmed, about the poltergeist phenomenon being a derivative of psychic powers, in this case, magical powers, or magic. So the theory was half right.

As he picked up his wand from his trunk using his left hand, he closed the lid of it with his right hand and levitated it using his magic without the wand.

"Ah, shit" He looked back to his wand "I forgot to use it, but I'm just too used to my powers, no magic, without the use of any help" He thought.

That's another thing that he realized, whenever he used his magic, all he needed to do was a strong emotion and the willpower or intention for it to work, it might have taken him a couple of tries, but it still worked. But in the case of magic with a wand, everything was methodical, the intonation, the motion, and while they were there to teach children first how to use their magic, for Allen it was like going back to crawl after he learned to walk.

And just because he managed to use magic without a wand doesn't mean that he suddenly was able to use it perfectly. He tried a couple of spells in Diagon Alley before leaving, since that way the Ministry wouldn't know he used magic, and while he could manage to use it, something felt weird to him, he needed to get used to the feeling of his wand.

As he sat down with his wand in his left hand, he used the same spell that Mr Ollivander had shown him

"Magicae Ad Magica" As he finished the incantation, he felt a joyful feeling coming from his wand.

Since he couldn't use his wand in the orphanage, the only thing he could was to keep it clean.

Over the next two weeks he was able to tell how more or less his wand reacted, while it couldn't actually 'see' it could feel, and it felt whenever he used magic without using it, and those feelings passed over to him when he grabbed it, from that point on, even if he used magic without his wand, he would grab it with his free hand, just so it can feel the magic run inside of him.

As he was thinking about the past two weeks, the compartment door opened and a boy looked at him with a questioning look.

After looking each other for a while the boy gave up and asked him "Can I sit down?"

"Sure" Allen nodded, then saw the boy carry his trunk behind him into the compartment.

"Do you need any help with that?" Allen asked the boy, seeing how the struggled to carry the trunk, most likely it wasn't charmed like his.

"Eh? Oh, Sure, I guess" Answered the kid, not really sure how Allen would help him. Then Allen pointed at the trunk with his right hand and levitated the trunk to be on top of his.

A shock showed on the kid's face "So he's a muggleborn then?" Allen wondered.

"You know how to use wandless magic?!" The kid asked in a surprised tone.

"Oh, so he might not be a muggleborn then" Allen thought to himself.

"I think? I've been doing it since I was five, I just thought that I had super powers" Allen answered halfheartedly.

Allen sat down and motioned for the kid to sit down in front of him "My name is Allen, and yours?"

"Oh sorry, yeah, my name is William Cooper, nice to meet you Allen"

"Likewise William" Allen nodded and then went back to his book.

"Wait! You haven't told me your last name, don't suddenly start reading"

Allen frowned "Do I have to? Don't really like my last name, you see"

"I told you mine!, now tell me yours!"

"You'll find out in the feast tonight, so no, I'd rather keep it a secret when I can"

William raised an eyebrow "Alright then, just don't be mad when I ask you why you don't like it"

"Yes, yes, I'll take it into account"

Allen really wasn't ready to hear people refer to him using his last name, even when someone used it without any ill will towards made his skin crawl.

It wasn't even for a good reason that he didn't like it, the reason was because he hated the coincidences regarding his last name.

He still remembers the exact conversation he had with a friend about it.

Both of them were playing an RPG game, and after getting multiple endings they talked about them. Allen didn't get one of the endings in which a character's last name is revealed, which is Lionheart, while his friend talked about how that character was her favorite one, he laughed about it, mocking the last name of the character, then she told him about how his last name was a complex of him, just like how it became to him.

He doesn't hate his last name, he hates how the universe decided to mock him in every way possible in this new life he was given a chance.

In no time, the train departed, and lots of kids looked outside of their windows, saying goodbye to their parents, it made Allen a bit sad, remembering his parents from his previous life, but he decided to distract himself with the spell book.

"So, why are you reading a schoolbook while we are going to school? Isn't it boring?" William pointed at book, trying to make conversation.

"I'm kind of a muggleborn, so the more I know about the magical world, the better for me I suppose" Allen closed the book and put it on top of his lap.

He looked at William now, honestly, he didn't want to make any friends before the sorting hat decided in which house to put him, since he knows how kids can be if someone is different from them in any way.

He has read about how dividing kids into different classes, in this case, houses, can foster unhealthy associations, so he wanted to avoid it from the beginning.

"Oh, I'm kinda the same, my dad and mum are both muggleborns, but they raised me in a magical home" William pointed at himself with his index finger.

Noticing where the conversation was headed, Allen decided to change the topic of the conversation.

"Well, I also find the spells interesting, have you tried any of them before?"

"Nah, not really" William replied "mum and dad said that I can't practice magic until I'm at Hogwarts, but they were really happy when I showed signs of accidental magic!"

"Mm, I can imagine. So have you managed to do magic after that?"

"Uh? No, not really"

"You haven't tried? Or you didn't want to?"

"What's with all the questions man, I don't know, what about you?" William crossed his arms and looked at Allen, expecting an answer.

"Well, yes, kinda, I can do some stuff" Then Allen lifted his index finger, showing it to William, which then proceeded to spark a small flame on top of it.

"Whoa! How'd you do that?"

"Just thought about it, and it happens, it's a bit different with wands though"

Before Allen could continue, the compartment door opened, and a blonde boy looked inside, he raised an eyebrow after looking at them.

"Can I sit here?" The blonde boy motioned towards the empty seat next to William.

Allen squinted his eyes. Ah, probably a pureblood, really similar to Draco, has the same posh face I imagined.

"Sure thing, I don't mind, do you, William?"

"Wha-? Ah, no, go ahead, nice to meet you, I'm William Cooper"

"I'm Allen, nice to meet you"

The blonde boy nodded "Armand Malfoy, nice to meet both of you."
