Long Break From Manor Black

156 million had died during the War of the Seven Mythical Tales. Edward remembered every one of these deaths as he had of coursed been apart of.

He opened his eyes and flung himself to sit up from his bed as he had another nightmare. In his daze in the corner of his room he saw No One but he rubbed eyes before realizing he was just seeing things.

"Fuck, that bastard put a dent in my brain." he cursed under his breath.

He was currently rested in his bedroom alone where he was left with his thoughts. His head ached with an unbearable due to No One reviving him from the dead, and it caused him to have nightmares or hallucinations of No One everywhere, and anytime.

After he was brought back from the sentient manor he took a break from his task of investigating anything about the Wyrm Howl Cult. It was currently 6:15 in the morning and his body was still healing from the revival and the sentient manor. He activated his echo as the fiery black crimson aura surrounded both of his hands and he closed his eyes to focus most of his remaining energy on to both his hands.

The fiery aura slowly dissipated, he opened his eyes and cursed at No One even if they are already dead. The sentient manor had haunted him due to No One, a creature of no origin where they came from or who they came from.

The next day he was walking down the street and into Tundor's Police Department. As he entered he was met with the chief already in front of me with his right eyebrow raised and a coffee mug in his left hand.

"Care to explain where you were?" he asked, his voice a rough deep type of tone.

Edward already knew what he to deal with, and it was lots of paper work and a whole lot of explaining. A few minutes into his explanation he was immediately punched in the face by his chief as his chief fixed himself and stretched his right hand.

"You deserve that for trying to leave this old bastard alone to deal with a bunch of fanatics!" he shouted before calming himself down and walking away.

Edward simply sighed in exasperation and shrugged it off as he walked towards his desk. He sat down--turned on his computer and grabbed a nearby newspaper and started reading through it for any new information about the Wyrm Howl Cult.

Everything went silent as he started signing completed documents from other cases that had nothing to do with the Wyrm Howl Cult or any Abnormality or Echo user. Right now he felt like a normal detective waiting for the next big case, and he could not even get a short case he wants due to being needed for all Abnormality cases, and Echo user cases.

He was the few people in Tundor's Police Department that had an echo but not only that he was also 1 of only 5 people who were very capable of admirable and fearful power. Two were in Moonlit taking a look at another case while another 2 were off on a "vacation".

After a few minutes, he smelled the scent of fresh blood nearby--Turning his head towards his right he saw a faint red line that trailed towards the documents room. Edward wondered to himself how is anybody ignoring all this until looking at the trail closer; it wasn't a normal faint red line it was made of a crimson aura.

Standing up from his chair he walked towards the trail and followed it down to the documents room. Peaking his head inside he saw the corpse of a male officer hanging from his own intestines which wrapped around his neck down to his legs. A horrific sight indeed made worse by the rotting of the flesh; approaching the body he noticed a shiny object in the body's pockets.

Reaching for the object the area around him shook frantically as the officers outside were talking loudly amongst themselves. Wondering what the commotion was all about, he went back out and was met with a body crashing towards him which caused him to be pushed back to the room.

"What the hell?" confused, Edward shook his head to get his bearings as he stared at the corpse on him.

Boom! Boom!

Something large had just entered the police department, it was a Abnormality on all fours with its skin slowly melting, its bones, muscles, and organs visible to everyone;with a massive jaw that splits apart every time it roared with claws that reached up a normal sized pillar.

It smelled horrible from its rotting melting skin down to the flesh stuck in its serrated teeth; it lent out a guttural roar before dashing towards Edward with its left claw raised to attack his face.

Bang! Splurt!

A shotgun was fired before it attacked Edward, its face exploded into bits and pieces but it slowly formed back piece by piece as its jaw reattached itself and its skin melted once more.

It roared it pained as it stumbled around, its sharp claws destroying the desk and even slicing others in half.

Others were flung into the walls, others were just heavily injured, and others lost their upper or lower half. The whole department was in shambles because of this singular Abnormality that attacked everything in sight.

While all this was going on, Edward was shouting in pain as he held his head. His own vision blurring by the minute and sometimes he sees "No One" and every time he hears they're voice mocking or calling out to him. The Abnormality healing from its injuries and after attacking so many other officers rushed at Edward once again.

"Khutul!" the Abnormality roared as drool and spit went everywhere.

That one singular word snapped Edward back into reality allowing him to dodge its attack and shoot at it with his revolver. Blood seeped from its wounds which Edward used the chance to put his right hand over and ignite the blood.

"Tale of the Hanged King: Boiling Blood." he said as the blood went back inside the wound and started igniting turning the Abnormalities whole flesh to swell and slowly turn crisp as its whole body burned from the inside.

The "beast" turnedaround it pain as it groaned and roared in guttural sounds as its bones started cracking and breaking and his organs slowly exploded one by one. Approaching the "beast" Edward eyes were cold, unfeeling, and simply had one thing in mind.

How the hell does this thing know about Khutul
