Duoluo dalu : The Monkey King [ on short hiatus]

In the inner region of star dou forest, there's a golden monkey tribe ruled by a 37-thousand-year-old golden monkey king. Due to being in the inner region, he has to protect his tribe from many hostile beasts that want to devour them.

He is a prideful king and never backed down when someone issued him a challenge to be the new king and he always won. It was a one-sided match all the time. Soon the monkeys in the tribe started to respect him more and more and no one challenged him again.

After a century of being the king, he finally found a partner, a golden-red 38-thousand-year-old female monkey, who's at the same power level as him. They met when the king wandered to find a divine fruit. After fighting each other for almost a day he lost. The female monkey became the new ruler and took him as his partner. He had to agree as there were no other strong female monkeys that could produce strong and healthy offspring.

They worked hard to produce offspring and the previous monkey king got beaten black and blue after each mating. The new queen is a more ferocious and dominant one. After years of hard work and beatings, he finally managed to get her pregnant.

There was a festive mode among the golden monkey tribe as their queen was now pregnant. One year later the queen finally gave birth, but the heavens were unkind to them, the newly born monkey died the next day.

Many years passed after that, the queen didn't get pregnant no matter how hard they tried. The monkey king was on the verge of losing his pride as a male. Soon the queen felt hopeless and stopped mating. She felt jealous when she saw other monkeys playing with their kids.

She withdrew from the Queen position and fully focused on cultivation. One day as she was returning to the tribe after a long session of closed cultivation, she saw a basket near a tree by the river. There were baby crying noises coming from it. She saw a jade snake slowly slithering towards it. She felt her heartbeat quicken for some reason and she rushed to protect the baby.

The snake was shaken by the sudden arrival of a powerful monkey but he rushed forward to swallow the baby along with the basket. Seeing such a daring act, the previous monkey queen roared and stomped the sneaky snake. It was squashed to death.

She looked at the basket and gently picked it up. She saw a human baby, who was crying loudly. Not knowing how to calm him, she gently pushed a small peach to his mouth. the baby stopped crying and started to suck the juice coming out of it. Seeing that she smiled and took him back to the tribe.

Many monkeys saw the basket she carried with her and the baby inside it. They followed her to the big tree where the king resides. The King came out hearing the commotion and saw his mate bring a basket with a human baby inside it. He asked her for an explanation.

After the explanation, He asked what to do about the baby. Some wanted the baby to be returned to the humans, some suggested killing the baby. The female monkey roared in disagreement and decided to raise the kid. Many including the king disagreed with her, but she beat him black and blue before he and others accepted.

She carried the baby up the tree and placed him in some sort of nest. She saw the baby sleeping and a smile formed on her face.

* 2-years later *

In the monkey tribe, near a small pond, some baby monkeys and a human child can be seen playing as a male monkey keeps watch over them. The human kid is chasing after the monkey kids to catch their tails.

" kekee kekeke..." a small monkey laughed as he escaped from the human kid with ease.

Hearing the taunt the human kid got mad and rushed at him at full speed. He tripped and fell scratching his elbows and knees. He started to cry loudly.

"Waaaaa waaaaaa waauuuuu...."

The male monkey panicked and brought him up and hugged him. He cleaned the wound by licking it and applied some leaves to stop the wound from bleeding. He brought the kid back to the large tree and placed him in the nest and gave him some peaches.

He saw the kid eating the peaches and sighed. Out of nowhere, he was smacked on the head. he turned around to see who did this and saw a big angry female monkey glaring at him. he fell back on his butt and tried to explain the situation but alas, he got beaten again.

The adoptive mother looked at his child as he was eating peaches and hugged him. After eating the peaches the kid fell asleep in her arms as she fell asleep along with him. The poor male monkey was twitching on the floor as he saw this scene. He tried to get up but tripped making a loud noise. Soon he got hit by a coconut on his head and passed out. The female monkey looked at him and scoffed.
