11 CH 11

The next day Theo, Jace and Caleb were on the roof talking about the school dance. Caleb asked them who they were bringing of course he was going to bring his girlfriend.

Jace wasnt planning on going he spent all his time at practice working out meditating or spending time with his new family. That was until Theo admitted he liked someone but was to nervous to ask. Caleb asked who it was and Theo looked down and told them it was the coaches daughter.

Caleb whistled and told him to just ask no harm could be done after all they see her at every practice. Seeing Theo agree Caleb then looked at Jace knowing that if Theo was coming he would follow.

Jace told them the truth while he has seen a lot of pretty girls at the school none have been interesting to him. Witch caused the other 2 to laugh. As far as they could tell his only interest were baseball and working out and there was only one place to find a girl like that and that was the softball team.

Caleb being the friend he was started scheming with the other members of the team on how to get Jace to meet the softball team.

A few days later in the middle of practice Coach Williams announced they would be doing a mixed practice match with the softball team. Personally the coach didnt want to do thos but how could he say no to his daughter.

At the end of practice Theo went over to Brittany and asked her to the dance she smile and gave him a hug saying of course she would go with him and then they exchanged numbers.

Later that night they were txting and Theo brought up getting Jace a date and how him and the team thought the best bet was on the softball team.

With her mom coaching softball and her dad coaching baseball she came up with the idea of the mix game a pitched it to her parents who spoiled her to no end.

It would be a 4 inning game but Jace wasnt allowed to pitch cause it would be an automatic win for his team and besides the pitchers every one had to play a position that wasnt there own. Each team was half boys ad half girls Jace was dissapointed that he was not able to pitch or play center field so he decided to play catcher and borrowed the gear from Matt.

When the girls came over to the field they saw most the guys alredy separated in two teams witch happened to be seniors and juniors on one team sophomores and 3 freshman on the other team. The girl separated in the same way.

Coach Williams was coach for the senior and juniors while his wife was the coach for the sophomore and freshmen. The older kids had more players while the younger one only had 11 but it wouldnt matter much since it was only 4 innings.

Jace seeing both the pitchers on his team were girls smiled and then yelled at towards the other dug out. Hey if yall drag both them down I guess they have to let me pitch to all of yall. This caused all the senior and junior guys to shiver after all no one on the team has got a hit off of Jace in my of the live batting practices. Seeing how the guys reacted the older girls looked at the the guys confused so they explained that Jace was a monster on the mound that if he take the mound they mise well forfeit the game if there not winning by then.

They also told the older girls since hes playing catcher to stay tagged up to the base unless you want to get out some of the girls believed them but a few were doubtful.

The girls in Jace's dugout took it the wrong way and thought he was bad mouthing the 2 female pitchers and started yelling till Caleb and Joe explained that he wasnt encouraging the other team infact he was warning them.

The girls didnt really believe them but decided to wait and see. during the first inning Jace was chosen to bat first against a senior pitcher .

On the third pitch he hit a double over the third baseman's head. Then 2 girls came came up and struck out. The third girl who came up got a double off of a curve ball letting Jace score. after that Caleb and Joe both got on getting another run scored for them.

Sadly the next up was a sophomore who was usually on the bench and he struck out swinging. Jace told the 2 girls that were pitchers just throw it and he would catch it. The first 2 batters got on base both hitting a single. the third batter popped up to Jace then Jace threw the runner on 2nd out before she realized what happened. Making every one believe he really was a monster.

The 4th at bat hit a home run making it a tie ball game. the 5th hit an infield out to the short stop. The 2nd inning started with the first batter hitting a pop fly and the 2nd batter getting a walk. Jace ended up being told to take a base. and the next 2 struck out again.

The next 3 for the other team all hit. single they got the following 2 out and then switched to the 2nd girl pitcher and got the last out.
