I check my phone and see a message has come in from Ava. "Olivia's father wants to meet her at my home. Will you be able to make it here?" Since I've been discharged, I would like to see Ava again, I reply "Sure, will be there when he arrives."
I go through the same motions for the next three days, breakfast with my boss, attending the conference till evening in the Winter Ballroom, and finally dinner and some action or thriller movies at the drinks bar area. On the last day of my stay at Four Seasons Hotel, I wake up at 6 am a little later than usual, do my warm-up workout routine, and then get ready for breakfast with my boss. After breakfast, I wait for Sir Raiden to check out at the reception and then help him carry his luggage and load it in the car, while his personal driver is waiting for him.
"Alright, take care Jaxon."
"Have a safe trip back Sir," I say in return.
As the car takes off, I am left staring at the number plate of the car as it completely disappears from sight.
I return to my room and pack my things into my suitcase. I check out at 10am before I leave I text Ava.
"Have you got room for one more guest?" I ask her.
Within a few minutes she texts back.
"Sure, I'll get a room ready for you. Come on over."
"I'm just leaving the the hotel will text when I arrive."
"Better if you call me." She texts back.
"Okay," I reply.
On the drive to Ava's home, I can't help but slowly grow more and more anxious as I think of what my employer told me about Mr.Visser. This man we are meeting could be dangerous and could put us in a dangerous situation if we're not careful.
I arrive at Ava's home exactly three hours later, I park my car on the drive way just near her house and step out of the vehicle. I get my things and head for the front porch. I press the button to ring the doorbell and hear the sound go off. The door opens and Ms Calistar greets me.
"Jaxon lovely to see you again, please come in Ava will be back shortly she just went to the market to get some last minute items."
"Here she is now," says Mrs Calistar upon inspecting the driveway from a window.
"Hi Mom I got the things you needed," says Ava coming through the front doorway.
"Hi Jaxon, you made it", she smiles when she sees me and I return her smile with one of my own.
"Told you I would make it," I say in reply.
"Mr.Bruce Visser is expected to arrive in about an hour's time, let me take you to your room", says Ava showing me the way to a room located upstairs just opposite hers.
"Olivia is in the guestroom just below you and Jedidiah is over there," she says indicating one more room down the corridor one on the left.
"Great, I'm next door to Jed, I presume?"
"Yes," she replies gleefully.
She opens the door to my assigned room and once I step through the doorway I see a king-size bed in the centre, there's a cupboard on my right with a table and chair and a large mirror hanging on the wall on my left. The bathroom is small but it's just nice for one person, with a head shower, toilet bowl, and sink.
"Nice," I say whistling out loud.
She laughs, "glad you like it."
The doorbell rings startling us both, we turn and look at each other for a moment.
"That must be Mr.Visser," says Ava.
We leave my room and take the stairs down, Ava practically sprints to the door, holds the handle pulls it down. The door opens and in walks a tall man, judging from his looks he looks like he is in his mid-fifties. He has blonde hair, going grey at the temples and blue eyes, and he looks like he has maintained his physique which is well built and muscular. He has on beige pants and a red shirt.
"Hello there, I'm Bruce Visser" he says extending his hand for me to shake.
"Nice to meet you, sir".
"You may call me Bruce."
"You must be Avalina Hartwell, the girl my daughter has been writing so much about. Thank you for taking care of my girl." He says shaking Ava's hand.
"You're welcome, Mr.Bruce."
"You two must be the couple who helped her out of difficult situation, she didn't tell me what it was just that you two were there for her when she needed help the most."
Ava gives me an alarmed look and nods her head,
"yes we did help her, Mr. Bruce could we speak to you for a moment in private before you see Olivia, she's currently with my mother plucking some herbs in the garden."
"Sure," he replies.
"Mr.Bruce we don't wish to distress you but we found Olivia blindfolded, gagged and tied to the bedpost, in a room at the same hotel we were staying in."
"I'm afraid she was kidnapped, though we dont know by whom and why?"
"I see," said Bruce Visser all of sudden looking pale.
"Can I have a glass of water please?"
"I will get it," said Ava leaving the room.
"She needs to get tied down, I can't handle her anymore," muttered Mr.Visser under his breath as both him and Jaxon waited for Ava to return.
She came into the room holding a glass of water in one hand a plate full of fruit tarts.
"Thank you," replied Mr.Visser taking the glass from her.
"I'm sorry you both were in such a situation l, but I can't help but be thankful that you were both there."
"We would not have known had it not been for this lady who walked into the ladies room while I was in it," said Ava.
"She told me specifically to enter room 402 at precisely six o'clock, she put the key card into my hand."
"So we did and we found her in there."
"I see, strange," said Mr.Visser looking deep in thought.
"Well, I must see my girl if she is..."
He didn't get the chance to finish what he wanted to say as Olivia walked in and exclaimed,
"Daddy you're here," she said giving him a hug.
Father and daughter were reunited at last and Mr.Visser wiped tears from his eyes as he said,
"so happy you're safe, my dear girl."
"Of course, I am Daddy you never need worry," interjected Olivia.
"Olivia your friends told me everything about how they found you. I promise I will find out who did this and make sure the law serves them their sentence."
"Are you hungry?" asked Olivia trying to change the subject.
"I just had lunch. I think our friend here is though I could hear his stomach rumbling from a mile away," he said indicating Jaxon.
"Let's all go to the dining room, then," suggested Ava. So, the little party went to the dining room and took their seats at the dining table where a spread was laid out for them. While, Jaxon, Ava, and Olivia ate, Mr.Visser mostly asked questions about each of them. The little party was soon joined by Mr.and Mrs Hartwell, who introduced themselves to Mr.Bruce Visser.
"I am truly grateful to you all for the way you have looked after my girl, however I must leave with her today and return to our home. Olivia you can spend some time with your friends while you're here we leave in an hour."
"Very well," replied Olivia accepting her fate but with little difficulty as she truly did miss home and was trying not to show exactly how homesick she really was.
