Chapter 48

Rill whipped his paintbrush as he took a large amount of blue paint.

'Let's start with something simple. ' Rill thought.

Swiping his paintbrush, a bunch of slashes that looked like water, rushed towards Joker.

Joker smiled as he rushed towards the slashes and dodged each one easily.

Rill was surprised for a second before readying himself.

'Let's slow him down. ' Rill thought as he quickly swiped his brush from the pallet, taking brown paint.

He infused the paint with the ground. The ground soon became a swamp. Joker was in the middle as he felt his movements restricted.

' Interesting. He basically painting but can replicate elements. This magic is heavily related to the creativity of the user though. Let's how well you do. ' Joker thought with a smile.

Rill swiped his hand again as multiple serpent heads rushed at Joker.

Joker looked at them with a grin and jumped up towards them. Rill looked in surprise before trying to attack him again.

Joker ran on top of the serpents easily as he neared Rill.

Rill didn't panic as a grin formed on his face. Joker rushed down with his fist reeled back.

* boom *

Joker punched through Rill and broke the ground.

' A clone. ' Joker thought.

* rumble * * rumble *

" How interesting! " Joker said as he looked at the attack coming at him.

A large amount of mud was coming straight at him in the form of a giant wave. There were mud creatures riding the wall.

Joker grinned as the mud came closer to him. The mud towered over shim as they slammed right into his body.

It covered the entire arena as Rill looked from above.

' Did I get him? ' Rill thought as he waited.

" Almost. "

Rill widened his eyes as he saw Joker standing on-air as he played with his cards.

" Your magic is really interesting. This is going to be fun. " Joker said as he grinned. Taking cards he threw them at Rill.

Rill saw it coming and quickly tilted his head to the right. He barely avoided the attack as the card cut his cheek.

Joker looked at him and rushed towards him. Rill looked at him in wonder as he was basically kicking the air to get to him.

Snapping out of it, he quickly made a platform. Standing on it as Joker was nearing in on him.

Joker swiped his hand which held a card, which he missed.

Joker's eyes widened as his grin expanded as Rill disappeared in a flash of lightning. Looking behind him Joker looked at Rill was grinning.

Swiping his paintbrush, Rill took some paint and created creatures. The creatures had wings, sharp teeth, long arms with claws at the end, and had creepy smiles on their faces.

Rill swiped his hand as he sent them to attack. They rushed towards Joker, who looked at them in awe.

Grinning he took his cards out as he waited for them to come. The fastest arrived as swiped his hands towards Joker.

* shatter *

Joker staggered like glass as Rill stopped on looked around. He couldn't see Joker anywhere.

* slash *

Rill looked towards his right as he saw one of his creatures disappear when it was cut in half.

* slash *

* slash *

* slash *

Rill watched as more of his creatures died.

' I can't see him, but he's still there. I got it. '

Rill took blue paint and threw shot the paint into the air. The paint began to enlarge as stormclouds started forming.

Joker killed the last creature as he looked up in awe.

' Beautiful. ' Joker thought.

Rain started pouring down as Rill looked everywhere and found where the rain hit something in the air.

' Found you. '

Quickly looking at the storm again he swiped his paintbrush.

* boom *

The sound of thunder woke Joker up as he looked at the lightning headed towards him. Rill looked at Joker as he was about to get hit.

Only to be annoyed as Joker shattered like glass.

' Again really?! ' Rill thought.

* clap * * clap *

Rill turned around to see Joker, clapping his hands.

" Your magic is very impressive. Your ability to use it so well is simply awesome. No then show me more! " Joker said as a bunch of snakes appeared next to him.

Rill watched the snakes as they came at him. He dodged them using his lightning platform. Due to him focusing on the snakes the storm he created was gone.

Rill kept dodging them as he looked at Joker who just standing there till he disappeared with a smirk.

Rill kept dodging as he lured the snakes.

' Now. '

Swiping his paintbrush at the snakes he watched as the snakes got cut up into pieces.

' It worked. ' Rill thought. He looked everywhere to find Joker.

* bam *

Turning his head to his left, Rill felt something hit him. Joker was there as he punched Rill.

* boom *

Rill rocketed toward the ground and slammed into it. It created a large amount of dust to form as Joker looked from above.

' He managed to survive. Well done. 'Joker thought.

As the dust cleared we see Rill on the ground panting as the water bubble he created popped.

' That was close. He uses illusion magic. He is also super strong physically. If I didn't cover that spot with magic I could have lost a few teeth and maybe my life. ' Rill thought.

' What should I do? ' Rill thought as Joker came down to the ground.

" Are you finished? " Joker asked as Rill looked at him. Taking a deep breath he looked at Joker.

' What can I use? ' Rill thought as he glanced at the ground. He saw the earth there and his own shadow.

' Well, I never tried using shadows. Let's see how it goes. ' Rill thought with a grin on his face.

Joker stood still as he looked at that smile.

'Let's see what you got in store. ' Joker thought as Rill gathered his magic.

Taking the black paint, he swiped his brush with his shadow. A black substance flew out as it trapped Joker and Rill inside.

Rill looked at Joker as he smiled. He swiped his hand as he disappeared from Joker's view.

Joker looked at this and then at the shadows.

* bam *

Joker skidded back as he felt Rill punch him, however, he had already swiped his card. Slashing through that Rill which turned out to be a shadow clone.

' This place is made with Rill's magic. He controls everything here while I'm trapped. Interesting. ' Joker thought as he delays with the multiple clones attacking him.

He then tried to move again after defeating the clones but couldn't. He looked down to see himself trapped by the shadows. The shadows then wrapped around his body as Rill appeared in front of him.

" Looks like I won! " Rills voice echoed out.

Joker smirked.

" Are you sure about that? " Joker said.

Rill watched as everything started to melt.

' What's happening? ' Rill thought.

When he looked again, he saw the battlefield. The blue sky was above e them as the sunlight shined down on him.

Rill looked to his left as he saw Joker standing next to him. He looked down as he saw Joker holding a card next to his throat.

" I lost. " Rill said with a sad smile. Joker said nothing as he removed the card from Rill's neck.

" Wait when was I put into an illusion?! " Rill asked Joker.

" Who knows? " Joker said as he glanced at Run with a smirk before walking away.

Rill followed but had a tick mark on his face.

" That was awesome. " Julius said as he watched the match.

' Rill is seriously a good mage. Paint magic is so OP considering that you could do anything you wanted a sling as you have the creativity. ' Elden said smirking.

" Well, that was round one. Round 2 is going to start. " Elden said as he teleported, bringing Joker and Rill back while Rose and Jack were on the field.
