Eddie scowled at the young Spider-Man, as though someone had stolen his thunder.
Before he could dwell on it, he noticed the gang of thugs had turned their attention to him, dozens of energy guns now aimed in his direction, their muzzles still smoking with residual heat.
Eddie felt a chill run down his spine.
"Danger!" Venom's voice warned inside his mind. Clearly, the heat from those energy bullets could do some serious damage to them both. Without a second thought, Venom sprang into action.
The energy guns buzzed, blue energy bullets whizzing through the air.
Venom twisted in mid-air, morphing his body into liquid, stretching and dodging bullets with near-impossible agility. He latched onto a wall, his limbs transforming into tendrils, and swiftly snapped the necks of two nearby thugs.
With frightening speed, he lunged forward, sinking his teeth into another thug's shoulder, leaving the remaining gang members reeling in terror.
Meanwhile, on the rooftop, Kingpin was pulled up by Spider-Man's webbing. As he steadied himself, he was greeted by a heavy, iron-clad punch from Anton, who had just swapped from his basic armor to the Rabbit armor.
Kingpin stumbled backward, the rooftop seeming to tremble beneath his massive weight.
Although Spider-Man had impressive strength, he was still a high school kid and far from mentally prepared for a confrontation with the notorious Kingpin.
Heart pounding, he looked over at Anton for reassurance.
"Batman!" Kingpin sneered, glancing disdainfully at Spider-Man. "This kid's your backup? A boy still wet behind the ears?"
Although Spider-Man's mask concealed his face, his unease was evident. His youthful inexperience was something even Kingpin could sense.
Anton's voice was calm but firm. "You shouldn't underestimate him, Kingpin. He's here to witness your fall and the end of your underworld empire."
"Hah! Bold words, Batman," Kingpin retorted, gripping his cane with a smirk. "If you can survive tonight, you might have a chance to boast."
With that, Kingpin charged, wielding his cane like a weapon. But Anton, now inside the Rabbit armor, was prepared.
Unlike before, when he'd controlled it remotely, he now felt every movement with precision. He fought Kingpin blow for blow, utilizing the armor's capabilities to the fullest.
While Kingpin was durable and powerful, Anton's armor gave him the edge. After several exchanges, Anton's armor cannon clicked into place, aimed at Kingpin's massive frame.
Recognizing the threat, Kingpin swiftly adjusted his stance, using the bullet from his cane to intercept the shot, causing the rocket to explode mid-air.
Spider-Man, observing from the sidelines, swallowed nervously. This battle was unlike anything he'd ever seen; it was more like a war than a fight.
Amidst the smoke and debris, Batman surged forward from the flames, launching a fresh assault on Kingpin with a steely resolve.
It was at this moment that Kingpin began to realize his predicament. Although Batman seemed to grow stronger as the fight wore on, Kingpin was expending his stamina at an alarming rate.
He knew that if the battle dragged on, the odds would shift further out of his favor. His only hope was to break through Batman's armor and land a decisive blow.
Kingpin grinned, unphased by his predicament. "Batman, once I tear your armor apart, let's see if you still find this entertaining."
Anton barely spared him a glance, his thoughts occupied with something entirely different.
'Does this guy even know the advantages I have as a world-hopping, power-boosted crossover character?' Anton thought, amused.
Even if this Rabbit armor failed, he could just switch back to his basic armor or redeem an upgraded suit with his vast collection of justice points.
With a powerful strike, Anton landed another punch, sending Kingpin staggering backward. Though he had the upper hand, the armor's durability was becoming an issue.
[Durability decreased by 35%, damage rate 47%]
The system notification flashed before Anton's eyes, but he ignored it, pushing forward, determined to finish this.
The battle between them was a brutal exchange, each strike echoing through the rooftop. After nearly ten minutes of intense combat, both opponents were showing signs of fatigue.
Kingpin's body was battered, his skin bruised and his fists bloodied, yet he continued to fight on sheer willpower alone.
Anton's Rabbit armor, meanwhile, was worse for wear. The arm joints creaked, the chest plate was heavily dented, and a few wires were exposed.
Despite its high-tech design, the armor had taken a severe beating, and Anton could feel its sluggishness.
Yet, as much as they seemed weakened, both combatants still radiated an intimidating power that kept Spider-Man watching in awe.
Spider-Man shivered, realizing just how terrifying the world of superheroes could be. "Is… this what it means to be a hero?" he murmured to himself.
Kingpin glared at Anton, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of anger and madness. "Batman, your suit's barely holding together. Let me see the man underneath."
Kingpin lunged forward, grabbing the helmet of Anton's armor, ready to rip it open.
"Be careful!" Spider-Man shouted in alarm. Nearby, Venom had finally disposed of the last of the thugs, just in time to witness Kingpin's attempt to unmask Batman.
But Anton wasn't worried. With a quick thought, he accessed the system's fan value balance, which had shot past 20 million. His fingers moved instinctively.
[Repair the Rabbit Armor. Deduct 3.2 million fan points (40% of armor's original value). Confirm?]
[Yes]
Under Kingpin's stunned gaze, the Rabbit armor gleamed momentarily, then regenerated back to perfect condition as though it had never been damaged.
The metal plates, joints, and even the ammo count were all restored.
"This… this isn't possible!" Kingpin gasped, his voice filled with disbelief.
Spider-Man's eyes widened, countless thoughts flooding his mind. 'What kind of technology is this? Instant repair? Self-repairing alloys? Or was the previous damage just an illusion to fool Kingpin?'
Spider-Man couldn't decide, but his mind kept returning to the same thought: 'Batman must have used the illusion of damage to lure Kingpin into a trap!'
To him, instant repair tech was something he'd only ever heard scientists speculate about; it seemed too advanced for real-world application.
Realizing Kingpin's confusion, Spider-Man chuckled softly. Watching Kingpin's baffled expression was almost entertaining.
Meanwhile, Anton, fully recovered, launched into a fresh assault. With a powerful punch, he finally pinned Kingpin to the ground.
Summoning a specialized steel cable from the system, he bound Kingpin tightly, ensuring he couldn't escape.
Rising to his feet, Anton dusted off his hands with satisfaction. "Game over!" he declared, smirking.
"You lost, Kingpin."
