What Are You Doing Here

The veins on the man's neck were bulging, and his entire body emitted a terrifying sense of oppression. He stared at her for a while, probably realizing that he had lost control of his emotions just now. He pursed his lips and slowly turned his head to the other side.

Su Jian blinked her eyes in a daze. Then, she lowered her eyes and her expression softened a little.

A moment later, Zhou Lu told her to leave, the tone of his voice cold, "Get out of the car."

Su Jian bit her lip and got out of the car without hesitation.

Zhou Lu also got out of the car and strode into the neighborhood with his tall and proud figure.

When Su Jian was back in her neighborhood, she thought of the person following her previously and quickened her steps. But due to her carelessness, she fell and sprained her ankle.

After reaching back home, she simply applied some medicinal wine and fell asleep from exhaustion.

That night, Su Jian had a nightmare. The dream was filled with the image of Zhou Lu strangling her neck with a ferocious expression. She almost suffocated to death, but fortunately, she woke up from her dream before it happened.

She reached out to touch her face and realized that it was covered in sweat.

Su Jian's lips twitched mockingly and felt that she was being ridiculous. Su Jian had never once done anything to let Zhou Lu down, why was she having such a dream? 

Su Jian started to feel a little annoyed thinking she didn't explain everything to Zhou Lu last night. 

Zhou Lu's reaction last night was so intense that people who didn't know better would think that she had done something wrong to him.

Su Jian frowned in confusion. Was it because she mentioned the car accident and it reminded Zhou Lu of the painful memories in the past? Was that why he had such a big reaction?

Su Jian only heard from Jiang Yan not long after she returned to the country that Zhou Lu had almost lost his ability to be a doctor due to his arm injury. He had been depressed for a long time and had lost a lot of weight.

Even though it had been several years since the incident, she was still shocked when she found out. She had always known that Zhou Lu's dream was to become an outstanding cardiothoracic surgeon, and he had put in all his effort and effort for this.

One could imagine how hard it must have been for Zhou Lu at that time.

However, he had already achieved his dream. Su Jian didn't understand why he had such a big reaction yesterday. She didn't even have the chance to beg him to be lenient and stop targeting her uncle's company.

Su Jian limped to the bathroom to wash up. She had just finished brushing her teeth when she saw a black watch with diamonds on the sink. She raised her eyebrows and recognized that this was the watch that Zhou Lu had worn yesterday.

He probably forgot that he had taken it off when he washed his eyes yesterday.

Su Jian's pure and bright eyes lit up and she immediately had an idea.

She thought about her choice of words before giving Zhou Lu a call.

However, no one picked up for a long time. She called several times after that but did not get through.

Su Jian stared at her phone for a while. Seeing that it was still early, she quickly changed and went out.

Su Jian managed to figure out Zhou Lu's exact address from Jiang Yan in advance before taking a taxi to his apartment and rang the doorbell the moment she arrived. 

Zhou Lu opened the door very quickly, dressed in casual home clothes, and his hair was a little messy. The area around his eyes was still red, but the swelling had subsided. He looked much better than yesterday.

When he saw her, the man's cold face seemed to be covered in a thin layer of ice. His squint his long and narrow eyes, and his tone was full of impatience, "What are you doing here?"

Su Jian smiled brightly and said gently, "Doctor Zhou, you accidentally left your watch at my house yesterday. I came here specially to return it to you. I also brought you your favorite Li Ji Soup Dumplings. I waited in a long line to buy them."

She didn't say a word about her calling him in advance.

In the past, Zhou Lu loved the Soup Dumplings at Li Ji when he was in university. Their family only made 200 Soup Dumplings a day and it was always sold out really quickly. Therefore, there was a long line at the entrance of Li Ji every day.

In the past, Su Jian would queue for a few hours at Li Ji's every day to buy soup dumplings for Zhou Lu in order to woo him.

Su Jian quickly handed the box to him, but Zhou Lu didn't seem interested in it as he didn't even glance at the dumplings.

His face was cold as he asked, "Where's the watch?"
