Nell was sitting on the wooden ground, his legs were crossed, his back was pressed against the wooden table placed behind him, and his eyes were locked onto the blue holographic display floating in front of him.
[Host's status: Unmarried, Single]
It had been a week since he was reborn and he was starting to understand his situation.
First, the world was still in its normal state.
Everything was how it should be.
Dungeons, monsters, heroes, guilds, and the rest.
Every single thing was exactly the same.
But the biggest difference was that Nell had been reborn with the 'Dark Rebirth' Skill.
[Skill: Dark Rebirth]
[Level: 1]
[Description: You can Evolve yourself or another creature and turn them into a 'Dark' version of themselves.
You can Evolve a creature to a more powerful or weaker version.
Evolution cost depends on the target.]
Secondly, the 'Dark Evolution System' had given him a lot of information.
The system was able to show him the history of the world, the current events, the dungeons, and the heroes.
The system could also show him his own stats and skills.
And one of them was his 'Dark Rebirth's' special trait.
[Special Effect: Skill 'Dark Rebirth' can resurrect the dead into a 'Dark Zombie' and use them as minions.]
It was an incredible skill.
Not only could he evolve himself, but he could also use it to resurrect the dead and turn them into his own personal army.
The best part was that they could also grow stronger just by killing other monsters.
Nell couldn't believe his luck.
"I'm a zombie, but I'm a really lucky one."
He had spent the last week exploring his surroundings and testing his limits.
He had discovered that he had gained a lot of benefits after being resurrected as a zombie.
Firstly, he did not need food, water, or sleep.
Secondly, his regeneration was very fast.
Thirdly, his senses were much better than before.
All these were the advantages of being a zombie.
But, the disadvantages were equally large.
As his eyes shifted from the Dark Rebirth's Special Trait and focused on the text beneath it, a weary sigh escaped his mouth.
[Skill 'Dark Rebirth' is locked due to the host's 'Unmarried, Single' status. Unlocking the skill will require the host to find a 'Wife' of a 'Female' Race, lower than the host's level.]
For the last week, Nellas had been trying his hardest to find a female, who would agree to marry him, but his attempts were met with failure.
Even though he had found a couple of women, he couldn't bring himself to ask them.
Even if somehow he managed to talk to a woman, he would either get a rejection or an abusive response.
He had gone through so many women, asking for a marriage, only to be rejected, slapped, or cursed at.
No one would marry him.
And on his last attempt to get a wife, he got a slap in a way that it sounded like thunder, and his left cheek turned into a bruise.
"So, here is the thing." Nell began, scratching the back of his head as he looked into the eyes of the last woman he was going to approach, "I have been trying really hard, but you are just too pretty. How can I stop myself from praising your beauty?"
The woman gazed back at him, the corner of her lips slightly moved upward, as she began to smile.
"Thank you for the compliment, you are also quite handsome yourself." She replied, her eyes sparkling.
Nell smiled back at her, and then he continued, "So, would you like to go on a date with me?"
"Hmm..." The woman pondered, looking away from him, her gaze wandering, and her thoughts racing.
Then, suddenly she raised her hand and showed her palm towards him, "You see this?" Her eyes shifted to the side, meeting his eyes.
"Yes," Nell answered, looking at the slender fingers of the woman.
"This is my palm." She continued, her gaze returning to her hand, "Do you know what happens when this palm hits a person?"
Nellas's eyes widened and his body shivered as his mind processed her words.
'Not again,' he thought, a bead of sweat ran down the side of his face.
"It hurts," The woman continued, then, she pulled her palm away from his face and slapped him.
"This is a 'no'."
With those words, the woman turned around and began to walk away, holding the dog leash tightly in her other hand.
Nellas watched her leave, his eyes following her figure until it disappeared behind the corner.
"Fuck..."
He cursed under his breath, rubbing his cheeks.
"Why do I keep getting rejected?"
He had been rejected by more than 50 women.
No matter how many times he tried, he couldn't get a positive answer.
And he was beginning to lose hope.
"Am I ugly or something?" He wondered, his eyes narrowing as he stared at his reflection on the glass window.
He was a young man, about 24 years old, and he had a handsome face.
His brown hair was short, his eyes were dark, and his skin was pale.
He was tall, about 5'11, and his body was lean.
In fact, he was a bit muscular.
His arms and legs were strong, and his chest was broad.
His appearance was so perfect that some people would call him 'gorgeous'.
But, even though he had a great appearance, none of the women he asked would accept him.
"Maybe I'm not attractive enough?" He pondered, looking at his own reflection, his eyes narrowing further.
"Whatever. It doesn't matter. I will just get strong by relying on the information I have of the future."
Nellas was a smart person, and he had been working hard to prepare himself for the upcoming war.
He knew the location of every dungeon, the type of monsters that would appear, the number of monsters, and their weakness.
He also knew how to fight them, and he had a lot of information about the heroes and their strengths.
But, his main goal was to find a wife.
"Maybe I will find one along the way. And I'll use her to unlock my skill."
"Well, there's no rush."
With a smile, Nellas turned away from the glass window and began walking toward the door of his room.
"I still have five years to prepare."
Five years before the Ragnarok was enough time for him to grow stronger and find a wife.
And it was also enough time for him to gather a lot of information.
"For now, I should go and buy something to eat."
Having made up his mind, Nellas opened the door and stepped outside.
The sun was shining brightly overhead, and the birds were chirping.
He smiled and stretched his body, his eyes shifting toward the sky, enjoying the beautiful scenery.
"This world is so peaceful."
Suddenly, as he was walking down the street, a loud voice filled his ears.
"What the hell? Shoo! Go away, you homeless bitch! This is a no-trespassing area."
