Inside a well-lit history lecture hall, a female professor projected a video onto a large screen on the wall.

"Students, over the past few weeks, scientists and researchers worldwide have been reporting some startling and unprecedented phenomena. We've observed significant mutations in various plants, with some growing to sizes previously thought impossible, while others have developed bizarre and unnatural features."

She displayed a series of photos showing enormous, deformed plants and animals with unusual characteristics.

"Moreover, there have been significant shifts in the Earth's tectonic plates, leading to increased seismic activity. Rising sea levels have also been recorded, impacting coastal regions around the globe.

At present, the scientific community is struggling to understand these phenomena and their implications. The consensus is that our world is undergoing dramatic changes. Whether these changes will ultimately prove to be beneficial or harmful remains uncertain.

In light of these developments, I encourage you to explore our ancient history and mythologies for clues that might explain these alterations. Historical records and ancient texts may hold valuable insights into these modern mysteries. Those who make noteworthy discoveries or propose viable theories will be awarded special recognition," the history professor said with an encouraging smile.

Suddenly, Professor Li's sharp gaze shifted to the far end of the lecture hall, where a student appeared to be asleep. She furrowed her brows.

"Student Shen Ren! If you're not interested in the subject, kindly leave the class," she said sternly.

Shen Ren, still lightly snoring with half of his face exposed, didn't stir.

His friend, Shui Fang, leaned over with a chuckle and poked him. "Hey, Ren, wake up! Unless you want Professor Li to give you a personal lecture after class," he whispered teasingly.

Shen Ren stirred mechanically, almost as if he hadn't been asleep at all. He yawned, stretching lazily. "Honestly, Shui Fang, it wouldn't be that bad. Spending time with such a beauty might be worth it," he whispered, a sly grin spreading across his face.

Shui Fang laughed, shaking his head. "Just don't let your girlfriend hear that, or you're finished."

With a shrug, Shen Ren turned his attention to Professor Li, who was now visibly fuming.

"I'm sorry, Professor Li. I didn't mean to be rude. I was listening to your lecture the entire time," Shen Ren said casually, his voice calm.

Professor Li was new to the university, and she hadn't gotten to know the students well yet. Unconvinced by his claim, she crossed her arms, sarcasm lacing her voice. "Oh really? Then why don't you tell me what I was just lecturing about?"

Shen Ren smiled, a confident gleam in his eyes. "Of course. You were discussing the recent abnormal phenomena occurring around the world—plants and animals mutating, tectonic shifts, and rising sea levels. I could even expand on the subject, though my explanation leans more towards supernatural theories."

Professor Li's expression softened slightly, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. She hadn't expected such a detailed response.

"Very well, Mr. Shen. I'm curious to hear your theory. Why don't you share it with the whole class?"

Shen Ren, dressed in a simple T-shirt and casual pants, stood up with an air of quiet confidence that seemed to stem from his refined upbringing. His classmates leaned forward, intrigued. They knew Shen Ren never spoke without logic or aimless boasting.

But As usual, some of the students in the back scoffed, rolling their eyes. To them, Shen Ren was just another second-generation rich kid showing off. They never seemed to tire of dismissing him, no matter how often he proved them wrong.

He cleared his throat and began, "The mutations and changes we're seeing might not just be a result of natural causes. There's a possibility that these phenomena are linked to something far older, maybe even forces or entities beyond our scientific understanding…"

The lecture hall fell into a captivated silence as Shen Ren continued, his calm yet authoritative voice carrying a sense of mystery that gripped the room.

"The mutations in trees, the altered behavior of animals, rising sea levels, tectonic shifts, desert flora flourishing unexpectedly, and mountains emerging from once-flat plains—these all point to the influence of some unknown energy or force factors permeating our world.

Just as humanity has evolved to this point, so too is the Earth undergoing its own transformation. Whether this will ultimately benefit or harm us, I cannot say—nor can any of you."

As Shen Ren finished speaking, he calmly took his seat, indifferent to the mixed reactions around him.

A ripple of laughter broke out among a few male students, their jeers filling the room.

"Haha... What a ridiculous theory!" scoffed a tall boy with fiery red hair. "Does he think we're living in some kind of fantasy novel? Calling those abnormalities the 'evolution of the world'—absurd!"

"Yeah, what a fool! People like him never last long," Zhu Liang's friends chimed in, fueling the ridicule. "He must be reading too much fiction lately!"

"Enough!" Professor Li's stern voice cut through the room, restoring order.

"Student Shen," the professor continued, "your conjecture is certainly... intriguing. However, conventional science would not support such a notion. The Law of Conservation of Energy directly contradicts this theory."

Shen Ren, who was glancing at Zhu Liang and his group while shaking his head, turned to Professor Li.

Professor Li's soft voice continued, "The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. So, your theory about unknown energy swarming the world would contradict this unless there's an explanation of how such energy is being transferred or transformed and from where?"

Shen Ren remained unfazed. He stood up again, this time with a more composed look.

"Professor, I'm aware of the law, but we must also consider that our understanding of the universe is constantly evolving. What we now accept as scientific fact was once just a theory, or even considered absurd. If the planet is indeed undergoing changes, perhaps there's an external source of energy influencing it — or something beyond our current understanding."

Shen Ren wasn't just saying this out of nowhere. He had researched on this together with his aunt, who was a well known scientist.

The class fell silent as Shen Ren spoke. His words had struck a heavy bomb, not just because of the content, but because it implied something greater — the possibility of a force, or energy, beyond what science had yet to uncover.

"But," he added, leaning back in his chair, "I'm not claiming this is the truth. It's just a thought. And until we know more, anything is possible."

Professor Li adjusted her glasses and nodded thoughtfully.

"Well, It's not wrong to question or challenge the norm. Science grows from curiosity and exploration. Just keep in mind that without solid evidence, theories remain speculative. Still, it's important to think outside the box, Shen Ren."

As she turned back to the board, Zhu Liang and his group fell silent, no longer finding anything to mock. The atmosphere had shifted, leaving the room in quiet contemplation.

"Nice one, buddy!" Shui Fang gave a thumbs up. "Look at the girls. They're clearly smitten with you now."

Shen Ren looked and found a few bold girls winking at him. Shen Ren waved back with a smile. He was surely not turning the beauties down.

Well, it was just a casual exchange. He had a girlfriend already, who was a little too demanding and overbearing.
