Though no castle held too many Snorcs, and the communication between two castles was cut off, the idea that there are more Snorcs within the barrier than the frontier guard did not sit well with the guard, who traditionally fought Snorcs.
Sasha agreed with their perspective.
Sure enough, helping them was needed for survival of Snorcs right now. However, once the crisis of survival is over, they have no way of knowing whether the Snorcs turn on them or not.
Moreover, the amount of resources needed for feeding these many people are not small. Frontier is poor, and Snorcs do not have the habit of paying for protection.
