The cop headed back upstairs toward the school.
"I'll go fetch the dude's contact data. Wait right there."
As soon as he fled, Ethan rimmed toward the street. "If you don't mind, I'd love to get home and plop some ice on my jaw and take some aspirin. I can catch the tunnel from here."
"Oh! Sorry, I didn't know you were still in pain."
"Yeah, well, you may be apt to read my mind, but you can't feel my pain."
I have no idea what's blathering on in his head right now, and I wish I did.
"Yeah, sure. Whatever you desire to do," she mumbled.
He sprinted across the parking lot, and she dubbed after him, "You may be off the hook as far as the cops are concerned, but I still have some questions."
Hmm…not even a kiss goodbye. It's like he couldn't wait to get out of here.
