Evelyn found herself to be comfortable where she was. She remained sitting on the floor with her back against the door. The spot was rather cosy.
Something in her life that she had never imagined had happened and this might be one of those times when Evelyn would have really appreciated having her father with her.
"I really wish you were here, Papa." She whispered to no one in particular. "I need you."
She really did.
As father and daughter they had never been able to bond much especially with the absence of her mother. Her father had drowned himself in his work and Evelyn it was just someone who left inside his house that he paid attention to once or twice a day.
Even if he did not see Evelyn for weeks at times Carlo still knew what was happening with his daughter.
She chuckled. She remembered how much she hated that happening but now it seemed like the safest bet.
