"I would not mind waiting for a week or two more if you're comfortable with that Evelyn," what's the first thing Angelo D'alessandro said as he walked into the room, "greeting for a parent is hard and since your father was a friend I can give you more time."
She appreciated that. "But this is inevitable. One day I would have to face this and I would rather do it now and get it over with." She told him who sat in front of her.
Angelo nodded but observed the girl keeny. Bella Rosa was years older to this girl.
Even though both of the girls belonged to a background of organised crime they were worlds apart. Bella Rosa did take this interest in business whereas this one had washed her hands off it completely. Evelyn was not concerned with keeping the organisation and had rather accepted the decision that her father had made.
Bianchi was right in making that decision. This girl could never stand up for herself.
"The file?" He looked at Antonio who nodded and slit back to the man. Angelo placed his hand on it.
"Have you read it?" He asked Evelyn who not it back in reply. She had read it every night till now.
"Alright then," he opened a page, "I want you to sign here and then on the last two pages. You will find the signatures of your father and mine there." He slid it back to her.
She picked up the pen.
"Remember," he said and raised a finger, "with this everything that your father has worked for comes under my name and I can do anything with it. The only thing you will get are the profits."
Evelyn placed the pen down, "why you're talking to me like I have a choice in this? What happens if I don't sign it and try to fight you?"
"You won't win."
Just as she thought. Lowering her eyes on the paper she signed it and then signed the last two pages.
The deal was done.
She signed it away.
He took it back from her but did not get up. "I do not have friends in this business but since Bianchi was one, I will tell you what's going to happen next Evelyn. I'm going to scout members from this organisation into mine. If I merge two, that is my decision and I am not liable to tell you."
She nodded, but frowned slightly, "What if some people don't pledge their loyalty to you?"
Angelo shrugged and the entire movement looked comical on him. "It's my decision to let them go or kill them."
Evelyn was not an idiot. It was obvious that he was going to kill them.
"Everything else apart, Evelyn, I am going to provide you with protection unless you want to hire some of your own."
Angelo stood up and Antonio walked out with him.
It was gone. She watched as Antonio closed the door on his way out. Everything that her father had built that he had handed away and that she had allowed to . . Was finally gone.
Now, she had to leave. There was no reason for her to stay.
