Bella Rumanzu is about to complete her senior year of college and graduate with a degree in psychology. Bella is practical and sees the wolrd thru the lens of a realst. Every mystery has a logical explanation, fairy tales are fake, and true love does not exist. Her best friend Ally Davis became her step sister in high school when Bella's father, Russell, married Ally's mother,, Liz. Ally is the opposite of Bella, always getting in trouble, being loud and the life of every party. Ally is intelligent but hides that side her social life. Bella has decided to accept an offer to study at Cornell University in New York, leaving Boston behind but has no idea how to tell the ones she loves. Her father asks her to accompany him of archaeological dig in Ireland over the summer and Bella agrees with the motive to tell her father her plan to leave Boston but the dig in Ireland uncovers an adventure that Bella could never dream of.
