Synopsis

Angelina Williams, a 26-year-old marketing specialist from the small village of Cedarville, has always believed that love is a myth for her village, with a long history of failed relationships and heartbreaks. The villagers have come to accept that love is not in their fate. Lina has resigned herself to the same belief, focusing on her work and building a life without romance, but her best friend, Bella, has other plans for her. Bella sets Lina up on a blind date with Daniel, a 30-year-old CEO from Everwood City, known for his cold and ruthless business tactics. Their first date is a disaster, with Bella eager to ensure her friend's safety tagged along. Daniel, determined to prove himself, doesn't give up on Lina despite the disastrous first date. As they continue dating, Lina finds herself falling for Daniel's vulnerable side, hidden beneath his tough exterior. But her beliefs about her village's curse and Daniel's reputation as a heartless CEO threaten to tear them apart. Can Lina and Daniel overcome their differences and break the curse of Cedarville's loveless history? Or will their relationship become another casualty of small-town superstition and big-city cynicism?

Chapter 1you better get your shits together

"Hey babe, you have to see this," Bella said while standing up and walking towards me. "Bella, what's that?" I asked, staring suspiciously at the phone in her hand. I felt uneasy. I had a feeling something 'not good' was about to happen.

"Here," she said, handing me her phone. I collected the phone from her, only to see a guy—scratch that, a cute guy's face staring back at me. "Who is this?" Even though he was cute, I couldn't help asking because I don't know why she would say, "hey babes u have to see this" for this.

"Your new boyfriend, b!tch," she said, shaking her head as if she was disappointed or something. Well, that's not even my business. The main thing now is this cute guy she's calling my boyfriend. Because the last time I checked, I don't have a boyfriend... but I have a lot of crushes, and this hot-faced guy is not one of them.

"What the hell, why would you say that? Yeah, I know he's cute, but I don't even know him," I said, more like yelled. "Well, you know him now," she said and walked to my reach-in closet, opening and rummaging through it. What the hell.

"What are you looking for?" I asked. Picking up one of the dresses she threw on the floor, it was a casual pink babydoll minidress with ruffled sleeves. It was one of the 'so many' dresses my mom bought for me... that I didn't even try on once. My bad.

"Are you blind? What do you keep in a closet?" she asked and rolled her eyes, while she continued to fling clothes.

"Oh... I dunno, maybe garbage," I replied sarcastically. She deserves it, really.

"Well... for your information, aunty," she said, walking towards me with a smile on her face. It's not really a friendly one, but the one she gives when she's about to make you do things you don't wanna do. "You're wearing one of those garbage to your date tonight." I knew it, I knew it wasn't gonna end well.

"A date, no way... I ain't going on a date with a hot-faced guy I don't know," I yelled.

"You better get your shit together; you're going whether you like it or not," she snapped back at me.

"I can't force you," I said, crossing my arms over my chest. If looks could kill, she would be dead by now.

"I'm not going to force you... *sighs*... I only want you to be happy. You're my best friend, no, you're more than a friend to me, you're my sister, just this time... please," she pleaded. And gave me the 'you can't resist me' look

"Okay, fine, just this time," I agreed. Well, I can't lie, he's good-looking and rich too. It wouldn't hurt to try once, right?

"Yay," she chirped, clapping and doing her happy dance. "Ahhhh! What will I do with or without her?" I asked, moving towards my bed to sit at the edge. "Alright, can you stop the dancing now..." I asked. "I'm kinda dizzy," I lied just to make her concur. Surprisingly, she did.

"Oh, sorry babe, I'm just so excited..." she said and sat down beside me on the bed. She side-hugged me and rested her head on my shoulder. "It's your first date, sweetheart. What are you gonna wear? You must dress to kill," she said, raising her head. She stared at my face, smiling like some creepy old lady... whoa, she's scary.

She dragged me to the bathroom to take a shower together... yeah, we bathe together, that's how close we are. Coming out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around me, I saw the pink babydoll dress she had thrown mercilessly on the floor minutes ago, now placed neatly on the bed. Sooooooo dramatic!

"I can't wear this," I said, picking up the dress from the bed, ready to throw it back in my closet. "Keep dreaming..." she said and snatched the dress from me. "You don't want to dress up like an old hag, or a janitor, do you?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.

"But I haven't tried it on ever since I got it. It would be too short, and I really don't like the color. Also, it's too tight," I complained.

"Well, that's the reason I want you to wear it. You've got the sexy curves, baby. Don't hide it with some overall shirts and some stupid skirts. Just wear this. Daniel won't be able to take his eyes off you," she said.

"Alright, fine, I'll wear it," I said. Then I picked up the dress and went to the bathroom. You can never say 'no' to Bella; she's the great Annabella after all. Note the sarcasm.
